Jul 2011 patch available!
Horny Dude replied to SFP1Ace's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yup I did that already, changes options.ini under "Saved Game" set ForceDX9=TRUE but the ATI HDR mod wouldn't load when I run the game. Hmm.. I wonder whether the June 2011 patch modifies the graphics engine and settings somehow? -
Jul 2011 patch available!
Horny Dude replied to SFP1Ace's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Guys, I also realized that the ATI HDR mod doesn't work anymore after I upgraded my SF2I from the May 2011 patch to June 2011. I would really prefer to use HDR as I get an FPS boost of almost double the amount compare to non-HDR. Without it, my game just lags.. Any ideas on this anyone? -

So far the terrain works fine for me, I have to say ansons did a really good job Just wondering though, are there any campaigns available for this terrain? -
80% CTD error
Horny Dude replied to jbryant's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I had re-pointed the cat file all along but yet the malvinas terrain still crashes when loading certain types of aircraft in single mission mode. Had been researching into it with the help of ansons2 but so far no solutions yet.. -

Are you referring to the mission types for the malvinas terrain? -

Yeah, i have to agree. Same here, the CTD seems to be intermittent with certain aircraft types. Hopefully we find a solution soon :) -
80% CTD error
Horny Dude replied to jbryant's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Thanks for your time and research. I tried using your fix but it still gives me a CTD in single mission. I am using VietnamSEA.cat not Desert.cat but I don't think that should be the issue that's causing the CTD right? Btw, just out of curiousity i realised that your nationsfile and briefingtext is empty, wouldn't that affect any of the campaign missions? -
80% CTD error
Horny Dude replied to jbryant's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I have changed the minbasesize to small for all planes and they work for all the terrains except one, the falklands/malvinas terrain. Unless i load planes from Argentina in single missions, the game will CTD. My nations.ini and malvinas_nations.ini have correct entries but it seems to CTD in single missions. Any ideas? -

Thanks for the help, yup i think it was the minBaseSize param that caused the prob, didnt think of that b4! The cat hav been changed to WOV's cat all along since im on WOV. Is there a way to increase the minbasesize for the terrain without having to edit the aircraft's data.ini? -
80% CTD error
Horny Dude replied to jbryant's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I just downloded the central pacific terrain but gets CTD when i load it up with some aircraft while others works fine. I checked my nations.ini and it has the nation of every aircraft listed in my inventory. The nations.ini also talllies with the centralpacific_nations.ini file. Could this be due to a date setting or something that i missed out? Please help.. -

Looks fantastic! Even be better if it could transform and release volleys of missiles, imagine the havoc it would wreak in Rolling Thunder. Can't wait for your release but nonetheless wateva the end product turns out to be, im sure i'll be the first few to download it and give it a spin. Great work! -
Unlimited ammo WOE cold war, soviet inv.
Horny Dude replied to Duiker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Yeah as for ammo i think unlimited ammo apply to guns only but I am referring to invincibility for the aircraft. Is there such a setting? As far I know there are only armor settings and structrural factor in the aircraftdata.ini which can be tweaked but still doesn't give the airplane invincibility. It's just for fun though, just wondering if its possible? -

Possible to erase the labels?
Horny Dude replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I had the same problem and tried to remove the labels but was unsuccessful. I did look into huddata.ini and tweaked a few things but it didn't work. I admit I was using easy avionics but the labels are really slowing my frame rates down. What I wanted to have is just the waypoint counter and triangle symbol and the target box only without the labels just as in the sep 2008 version. I only managed to reduce the labels' fontsize so as it's not intrusive and taking up gfx resources. Here's what i i did: [Debug] DisplayDebug=FALSE TextFontName=Arial TextSize=12 <--------------------------------this adjusts the fontsize of your info box on the bottom left and right corner of your screen [smallLabelFont] TextFontName=Arial TextSize=1 <----------------------------------reduce this to value to 1: i tried to use 0 but the labels are still there [Map] MapDisplayLabels=TRUE <-------------------if its FALSE, I suppose this removes the labels on your in-flight map [infoDisplay] BackgroundImage=TextBackground.tga BottomLeftPosition=0.01,0.985 BottomRightPosition=0.99,0.985 DisplayWidth=0.20 VerticalBorder=0.0015 HorizontalBorder=0.008 EnemyTargetColor=1.0,0.0,0.0,1.0 FriendlyTargetColor=0.0,0.0,1.0,1.0 UnknownTargetColor=1.0,1.0,0.0,1.0 WaypointColor=1.0,1.0,1.0,1.0 TextFile=HUDText.str NormalColor=1.0,1.0,1.0,1.0 WarningColor1=1.0,1.0,0.0,1.0 WarningColor2=1.0,0.0,0.0,1.0 AGLAltStart=609.6 AGLAltWarning=152.4 I would appreciate it if someone could help me out with this. Thanks. -

Operation Desert Storm: Desktop Icon Replacement
Horny Dude replied to Brennus's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
I know its missing the Hog on WOV, everyone knows that.. but the instructions for ODS specifically says remove the "aircraft" folder even for WOE before installing! So after running the ODS install program, it should give you the A-10 folder complete with its .lod files but not in this case. And with regards to the icon, i did mention it in step 5 and this IS the icon thread so it's relevant.. duh.. -
