I'm thinking to get WoE and I already got WoV and enjoying it very much but I have some doubts on WoE because there are many redundant planes from WoV in WoE which means I won't be getting a lot of new playable planes. And second I'm also interested to play as the Soviet and WoE doesn't give any Soviet plane as flyable(one sided game is not fun ). Third though I like the simplified avionics of WoV though I usually go for hardcore sims, I'm aware that the era that WoE covers is more modern than in WoV and I may not like the idea of playing an arcadish game. I don't consider WoV arcadish btw as the immersion is still believable. Is WoE worth getting? or should I stick with WoV? I hate buying something that I would not like in the end.

I've downloaded the only camo skin for Egyptian Mig-21PFM but found that the skin color actually missed the RL color since it's pinkish now. The author seemed to neglect the effect of sunlight on the ground and hence plane from the picture he took as reference(not intended to bash). I've also downloaded the Arab Mig-21PFM skin but found the camo too lightly applied(perhaps it was realistic to have it this way but still....) Is there another source of Mig-21 Arab skins to download? Most of the Mig-21 skins in CA are for the European and Indian air force? I need it for my Yom Kippur campaign. Thanks

I downloaded the desert pack to add many desert ground objects like tanks and SAM in desert tone. However I've noticed that the objects like tanks are only drawn at really close range hence becoming visible at a ridiculously close distance, hence I have extreme difficulty aiming and hitting them because they only visible when I'm really close to them which leave me no time to adjust my plane for aiming at them. Is there a way to increase the distance which these objects are drawn? I've noticed that the stock WoV objects are drawn much further than the objects that this mod introduced. thanks

Thanks Triplet I have found that I'm unable to duplicate this bug. Just now everything seems to run fine, I loaded the shafrir in Israel terrain and it was okay. Weird I also loaded the Shafrir in another terrain and it was okay too.... Edit: The bug is still there but it seems there's nothing wrong with the Shafrir missile. I think the problem lies in the Israel's terrain.

Well I've applied the latest patch: P1, P2, P3, v05.15.06, v08.30.06 Then I installed the weaponspack_Jul06. Single mission is great as the new weapons are there to choose from and if I change the aircraft data nation to Soviet from NVietnam and WP I'll get the whole complete of weapons available to the Mig-21 series. But the problem is when I select my custom campaign playing as RED(Mig-21), the weapons won't show. Only the external fuel tank is available to me. Also when I hit the esc key WoV quit to desktop instead of bringing me back to the debriefing screen. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks I'll check out the Su-27 later but it would be kind of weird since I'm playing WoV which is in the Vietnam era. Would be a kind of cheating to fly the Flanker LOL. I already got all the Mig version with their unique cockpits of course and the Su-15 and Su-7. Downloading the latest patch now to get the weaponspack to work.

Mig-21 external fuel tank
Miracles replied to Miracles's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Well I don't think it has a fuel flow meter. I'll check again. Thanks for the explanation so it's really a small ext tank. I suspected there was a bug that the additional fuel from the ext tank wasn't being added/used at all. And I only use afterburner during takeoff and throttle down to 26-28% of engine power for most of the cruising -
I'm wondering is there a full add-on mods for either Mig-15 or Mig-17 or Mig-19? Many of the add-on planes in the download section doesn't contain pictures or any useful information stating whether the file contains a full new pit What I mean by full is that with wholly new cockpit model and textures of course. Wanna see how these pits look like and how it feels to fly them

I'm wondering how do we tell when the external fuel tank has been used up especially in Mig-21(F/PVM/PFM/MF) I asked because literally after just about 6 minutes into flight time my (internal) fuel indicator would start to show that the fuel is starting be consumed/being depleted little by little. I mean I have a 490 liters of external fuel so why does the fuel indicator indicates that my internal tank is being consumed just after 6 minutes into flight time. How much engine power you need to apply for the long cruise to the objective and back? I usually go for 27% in Mig-21 game is WoV patched to P3. Thanks
