  1. How about this? Three years and several generations later: the Junkers D.I all-metal monoplane. The Me-262 of the First World War. I recently commissioned this 1:20 model with Factory Direct Models in the U.S. and can only hope that one day we’ll see this beauty in OFF or some other WWI sim. 30 or so were actually used at the Western Front in late 1918. I have more photos and information on this plane amd on the makers of the model for anyone who wants them.
  2. MiniPATCH V1.32d is now available!

Excellent customer support! Enjoy your holidays!
  3. SUPERPATCH 1.32 is now available!

I’m sure you’re right about Neoqbs predicament, Mightysrc. We’ll have to live with that I think, and hope that now that people are buying the sim it will be developed further. It would be too much to ask the way OBD developed OFF become the norm. The time and effort that Winder, Pol and their team put in OFF is staggering and deserves the highest praise and gratefulness, but will remain an exception I’m afraid. So I accept the way Neoqp is working, fearing that it is the only way to develop a sim commercially. And without interest from commercial developers I do not think we’ll see a healthy sim market.

Good to meet another SSW D.III/IV fan, mightysrc! As for me I value both RoF and OFF. Both have their strong points. And competition is always a good thing. Be sure I'll keep buying the OFF add-ons (even if there happens not to be an SSW in them.....). But I bought some RoF aircraft as well.
  5. SUPERPATCH 1.32 is now available!

I have one question: how do I get access to my ‘old’ missions. The ‘missions’ button seems to be gone; there only is the ‘scenario’ button. Do I have to move my missions into the ‘scenarios’ subfolder within the mission folder? Or is there a way to access the missions separately?
  6. SUPERPATCH 1.32 is now available!

Fantastic, Winder, Pol & team! What a dedicated support! Each time I think the sim cannot realistically get any better you do the seemingly impossible.
  7. Thanks so much, Lou! I think I'll take the plunge!
  8. I've been searching for an English translation of Osterkamp's autobiography but never found one. In fact, I haven't been able to acquire a German-text copy either. If someone knows where to look...
  9. Thanks for this, WF2!
  10. I applaud and admire your continued efforts and dedication. Great news, Winder!
  11. They were boys...

Agreed, Geier. I would never judge a movie by its accuracy alone. If you want accuracy, read a book or watch a ‘technical’ documentary like the Roaring Glory series. And some inaccuracies are worse than others. A movie romanticizing war by only showing the adventure, however factually accurate, is to my taste worse than a movie in which the planes don’t have accurate paintschemes. I watch movies for amusement, not for counting rivets. If the ‘atmosphere’ is gripping, then that is more important to me than accuracy. I have my weak spots too; in ‘Battle of Britain’ I find the Bf-109’s with Rolls-Royce engines very annoying. And I hated the Eindecker in Aces high. But I keep wondering why that is so important to me. I just received the Red Baron DVD and only looked at the extras so far. Tt seems a very entertaining movie. For me it is also important whether the movie pretends accuracy. In the strictly historical sense the director of Red Baron admits to taking liberties. Then I know what not to expect and am content with enjoying what I can expect.
  12. Next airplane for OFF?

I voted 'other' because I would love a Junkers D.I monoplane fighter. It's a bit of a 'what if' plane but technically very interesting. If I had voted strategically I'd have voted for the SSW D.III or D.IV.
