  1. WOFF Ultimate Edition Released!

I would very much like to buy this beautiful addon, but I recently switched to the Oculus Rift VR glasses. Is there a way in which I can use them with OFF?
  2. I very much would like to see late-war rare airplanes, like the SSW D.III and/or D.IV and Junkers D.I Also I would like 'real' grass, but that may not be possible with the CFS3 engine. Still, I am very happy with what we already got, thanks to the relentless dedication of the OBD team. Even if the development cycle of this sim has to end sometimes, I hope that the expertise and database that was accumulated in its creation will be utilized in a new WWI sim one day. It would be a great waste to let all the knowledge and insights wither away.
  3. Zepplin L30

In your aircraft folder, right at the bottom, are two Zeppelins, types P and R. As far as I know, one of them is the R30, I don't know which one.
  4. In the works... http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?78334-Not-a-mossie-but
  5. SSW D.III and D.IV

Ted , I discovered the book is not by Kilduff but by Haddow & Grosz. There are various pictures of Staakens and other Giants in it, so if you need information about particular details I can look for a picture, scan it and send it to you.
  6. SSW D.III and D.IV

Ted, I'll check the Kildoff book for useful pictures this weekend.
  7. SSW D.III and D.IV

A Zeppelin-Staaken! What a treat, NachtPiloten! Which version are you making? The R.VI? I have the Windsock book on the Zeppelin-Staaken series and somewhere I must have the book by Peter Kildoff (I think) called 'The German Giants' (I think), published in the '60's or so.
  8. SSW D.III and D.IV

Looking very good indeed. Bravo! As I said in the other thread, if you need information or photos let me know.
  9. The newest IL-2 patch seems to hav 6DF TrackIR support for some cockpits - haven't tried it out yet.
  10. Slightly OT: Siemens-Schuckert D.III

Itifonhom, is this a project for OFF/CFS3? That would be great!
  11. Besides the factors mentioned above, I always thought that it was much more German than Entente policy to group the best pilots in special units. Of course the Entente had the Storks and 56 Sqn, but they might be exceptions and a result of ‘evolution’ rather than policy. If this is so, there may have been more elite German than Entente units. So if you compare the best X units you are comparing German elite outfits with a combination of elite and average Entente units.
  12. Truly fantastic, Winder & Pol! The next step in WWI aviation simulation.
  13. saitek rudder pedals question

If you are referring to the Combat Rudder pedals: no software at all is needed to make them work either in FS or CFS. Some useful information is here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?48891-Saitec-Combat-Rudder-Pedals
  14. Phase 4 Screenshot comments

Thanks for the clarification Pol. Waiting in anticipation...
  15. Phase 4 Screenshot comments

The shots look very immersive and I’m so glad that the dedicated OFF team keeps developing this great sim. I have one comment: the contrast between the colours of the grass surface (the various shades of green) seems a bit too big to me. Usually a grass field has more or less one colour I think. That brings me to a question: can grass be modelled? That is a feature I like very much in Rise of Flight. Perhaps this cannot be dine in a CFS3-based sim, but who knows? Will the Zeppelin that can be used in Phase 3 still work in Phase 4?
  16. REVIEW: Armchairgeneral.com

    Congratulations! Well deserved!
  17. Top 5 aircraft for next OFF installment

    I like rare late-war planes. I'll buy any sim or add-on with a Junkers D.I or Siemens-Schuckert D.III or D.IV in it.
  18. Whereas the British had both the Camel (rotary, very maneuverable) and the SE5a (in-liner, fast) I would say that in 1918 the true complement of the Fokker D.VII was the Siemens-Schuckert D.III/D.IV.
  19. Question about download

    Thanks, Tuba2. I'll give it a try.
  20. Question about download

I found a download manager that worked fine for me: http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm
  21. Question about download

I also had two faulty downloads using IE. Gous, can you recommend a good download manager? I want to keep IE as my browser; is there a download manager that keeps IE intact?
  22. Thanks, cptroyce, indeed I tried it in the past. But the level of fidelity did not seem very high to me, perhaps due to RB3D limitation. The cockpit did not look like the illustrations I have. There have been D.Is for CFS2 and FS2000, but regrettably no recent ones. Olham, the pictures are too big to post here. If you want I can send you a CD if you give me an address to send it to.
  23. I have detail photos of both the D.I and D.III replicas in the Luftwaffemuseum available, if anyone wants to make a digital version.
  24. I have a glass display for my 1:20 sale WWI models in my living room. My house is not big but I live alone so it is no problem. There is a beautiful replica of a D.I (and of a Siemens-Schuckert D.III) in he Luftwaffemuseum in Berlin. Well worth a visit; you can get there by bus from the railway station. Lots of ex-Soviet planes too.
