  1. Modders - whats on the list?

    Dont know if this is a place for this but... If you like the Dr1 and play on Hard Fm then you wish to try out the new data.ini I have at CA. I do have permissions from A Team for the mod to be out.

  3. If I remember right the SE5 has some major glitches on frame rates when fireing ghuns and such. Im guessing it makes online game play bad.

    hmmm not sure whats up on that. I know I haven't got the approval back form CA yet so maybe its not available for public till they ok it. I can DL it fine but that may be because I put it up here.

    One thing I should have mentioned. Every run was done in a 12 vs 12 furball. I wanted to see alot of things the AI was trying and gave me a lot of targets to chase around.

    Hey Tex. I did a few test runs and since the AI is so weak I went with the idea of flying the N24 and Flying against the N24 myself to see how hard it was to avoid the N24 and try to gather you some info that might be helpful. Take into consideration I was fighting the AI which is weak at best. N24 Vs Alb D2 : The D2 had a very slight edge on speed to get away. The N24 out turned , outclimbed and just ate the D2 up pretty easy. N24 Vs Alb D3 : The D3 did have the edge pretty well on Speed and could out run the N24. THe N24 in a furball stil out classed the D3 pretty easy. N24 Vs the Alb D5a : This one was closer match than any alb model so far. The D5 seems to have better climb rate than some of the other Albs. Had better speed and could hang in there against the N24 in a dogfight. N24 Vs the D7 : Wow nice fight, if anyone was behind the stick of the D7 besides the weak AI the N24 would probably be toast. THe D7 had the N24 on speed and turn most of the time and firepower as well. Next run I did were same planes but I took the germans side against the N24... D2 vs N24 : The D2 was at a loss to get a good fix on the N24. THe N24 was way more nimble and could turn circles inside the Alb D2. The D2 did seem to have an advantage on speed (barely) and did Loop a bit faster than the AI did in the N24. Turn and roll both belonged to the N24 by good lead. D3 vs N24 : hmmm good close fight VS the AI. I still think a human in the N24 would have given me trouble. THe D3 had a good edge on the N24 going into vertical loops for position. Problem was the N24 would be able to get out of gun sight with it being so nimble. Alot of my shots were flick shots and very sharp angle of attacks. DIII (ateam) vs N24 : Well this was a bit different. It seems like the N24 was faster than the DIII A team version. Again the Alb seems to be a winner at vertical loops but the N24 is just so nimble he was nver in my sights for more than a few bursts if that. D7 vs N24 : pretty even fight, the N24 had a slight adv on turns but ran outta E faster doing it and the D7 had the over all edge. If you go vert and climb or loop and get position it was hard for the N24 to get away at all. Not sure if this helps you but I help it gives a small picture of how the planes do vs each other. IF we had 2 humans fighting it out I am sure the differences would show up much better. Over all I think one of the weaknesses ALL neuiports had was tender lower wings and fragile wings over all. Since im not sure if we can model that yet in FE Its going to be hard for the NXX to not seem a bit overpowered. SInce It can pull such a hard turn with no adverse effects then it will be hard for any plane ot match its turn radius. Great job on the plane just not sure how to suggest a way to fix. THe planes REALLY need to have wing stress and such to keep things in check.

    No big deal but I noticed the rondels and the tail insignia text were a bit off. I did the correction pretty easy just thought I would FYI you both so you can add it to the "to do list". Really love the idea that we will have some different versions of the N'port real soon. I was wanting to get the French side some planes of their own to work with in campaigns. the 24 feel real overpowered right now but the physics seem to feel good in flight. THANK YOU for setting the planes for HARD mode. I am very hopeful that all the planes will get a tune up to hard mode so its a more viable option in game.

    Well My view is a bit off center since I do only campaigns now. I would get the planes in game that were flying against the N24s historical wise. Then fly the N24 agaisnt those. Im guessing it's right around the D3 to D5a era maybe even D2 and PfalzD3. I would look at history to get time frames but use in game to tune the 24 vs its normal opponents. AS soon as possible I would love to get my hands on that puppy. I have a campaign ready to stick it in and we can try it out vs its german counterparts.

I have a few people who sent me some questions and I thought I would just answer them here. 1) In the original form the allies are not upgrading like you expected There is a line in the wwicamp3_data.ini : ForceWithInitiative=1 <---- change this to 2 and the germans will have the harder time on upgrades. If you look on the planning map in the original one I have posted you will see the allies seem to always be on the offensive. Hince it slows down the delivery of the supplies and planes by quite a bit. Or at least everytime I look at the planning map it holds true. 2) Why so few French Planes Well I was going to put in more but the planes im after haven't come out from the mods yet. I am VERY MUCH waiting for tex to pop the Neuiports out (hint hint prod prod). At that time I can do a mix of spads and neuiports and make the French a bit more immersive. 3) No Americans? Ok I understand but for the planes that are available right now the only thing I can do is dupe the RAF for right now. IF this is something you all want to see even though it will be close to the same I dont mind putting the section in. 4) No bombers to fly? Well I still have a ton of problems on bombing missions so they are left to AI. 5) I keep getting an UPGRADE from an Alb D1 to an EIII ... wtf kinda upgrade is that. LOL well the game engine looks at the available dates of planes and seems to pick whats in the time frame as available. Even if its not in the FIXED list of upgrades. The only way I know of right now to fix this is to take the last available date of the EIII and the EVI to 2/16 and that way they will not cause the issue. Maybe someone can explain a bit more here as to what I can change to help this one. Hope this help clear up any questions on the campaign. Feel free to drop a line on idea's and I will try and put patches out for anything thats worth re posting. ----Firecage----

    Hi there... Ok let me say a few things on the terrain change outs. Make a folder along side the wwiverdun folder and put my tile set in there. Now make a copy of the original terrain thats in your wwiverdun folder as tk made it. So now you should have 3 folders. now take the tileset files from my winter set and copy them to the wwiverdun folder and say yes to overwrite. This let my tile set over write the .bmp's and such it needs to but, leaves all the crutial files in the wwiverdun folder that the game needs to see. If you need to ask more questions let me know and I will try and help all I can.

    Nope... that didn't work either. When about 7 months past when I put in the code and got an airplane that wasn't even in the list. I can't belive this isn't available. I have tried all the idea's from both here and Third wire and nothing seems to work. THe game pretty much gives you whatever plane, whenever it feels like is what im seeing. Such a shame. was really hopeful it would work...
  16. Capun. I have found flying this plane you have to use the rudder correctly to get out of that inward spin problem. Is it true the AI don't use rudders and could that be some of what we are fighting?
  17. Ok i have a few planes that the gunsight is NOT in the right place. Rather than trying to remember which plane has an off sight I want to correct the placement of the sight. The one I want to change is the one where the cockpit is invisable. ALot of the planes dont have a stock gunsight in the middle so I use the invis cockpit to get an idea of where to aim with on the in cockpit view. I have 2 or 3 that the sight isin the wrong place. Thanks in advance.

  20. community mod project.....

    Well without 3d max I can't do any modeling but, I am up for the skins and such. I have the one summer enhanced terrain pack that I am touching up, There was a post today of another modder that has a hi res terrain (thats real nice) and I am getting very close on the winter terrain pack as well and I will throw all of my stuff up as available if needed. I am doing skins constantly for my own campaigns im working at. I dont have any problems I know of with any of the mod'erz that have done planes so Im sure I can get permission to skin for this project from who ever. Let me know what we need. What I need some help on is more links to pics of WWI planes so I can not only get what was there but, have a good idea of what to use on some extras so it doesnt get too repetitive. Feel free to send me a msg if you need help on this that I can provide.

  22. Ok I have been working over some things in the albatros data ini and I need help. I have something I really am close to liking but I need one thing, how do I make it where the rudder won't throw the alb at a90 deg sideways slide. I need to wind to resist the slide throw is what im after. WHich part of the fm do I need to tweak. Thank you very much
