Wow a helpful bunch. No one has to sell me on the benefits of TrackIR, I used it extensively with IL2- Sturmovik/Pac Fighters, EECH, Battleground Europe, ARMA2, etc. I can afford a new hat but I'm cheap like that (plus I think I may eventually stumble across it). Whats the Tac screen?

Yeah I have a old TrackIR 3 but I can't find the hat and I'm not sure I want to spend $10 for a new one. I'll try the padlocking (I think I was not selecting my target which is why it didn't work) and if I like it enough I'll wait on ordering a new hat.

So padlocking is disabled?

Ah, I was hoping they would make it an option for those of us that don't mind the extra effects.

When I first got OFF/HitR there were some great special effects when planes crashed, maybe not realistic but very cool to watch. At some point it seems that the effects were change to a less spectacular crash effect. In this case I think I prefer the Hollywood effects over realism so is there anyway to revert back to it? Thanks.

There is a down side as some people get headaches or eye pain. I have no issues and I play for many hours but did take me like 20m to train my eyes to get used to seeing 3d the first time I used it. Also games are darker because you are looking though red and blue lenes but I just turn up the brightness ans gamma and up the digital vibrance. Many of my other games support it as well (WoW, prototype, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky, Dragon Age, GTAIV, Total War and others).

They look like heavy duty sunglasses and with shipping I think it cost $3 or $4. They fit me perfectly and are made of thick durable plastic. You can look from others if this one gets sold but there are a lot of crappy ones so make sure it's thick plastic and it wraps around a bit to cover your peripheral vision. If you have the latest nvidia drivers then you are already 3d capable. Once you get the glasses go to the nvidia control panel and activate stereoscopic mode and then go in-game (flying) and fine tune the 3d. Stereoscopic mode taxes your system more but I had no problems and run the game at max.

You can't tell from the screenshot but I was playing in stereoscopic mode (3d mode) with the 3d glasses I just got. 3D mode works beautifully in OFF and the game is just that much more amazing when you feel like you are actually looking down the top of you plane or over the side when you flying low. Sometimes I like to look around in the external view. Is there a way to do this without manually keeping my aircraft straight and level?

LOL no need to do so - that was the unintentional fate of my first two pilots.

1) Ah thank you - I had auto mixture off. 2) My setting is "Hard - Dead is dead". But I don't think that is relevant since I did not get to die. Before I was near hitting the ground I was teleported to the de-brief screen.

Hi, Whenever I get dropped out of warp mode my engine is always stalled out and it takes several minutes sometimes to coax it back to full throttle. This has very bad consequences when there are enemy aircraft about. Anyone know how to fix this? I started a new campaign as a RAF pilot in the 29th and started my first mission. I proceeded to the airfield I was to protect and got into a scrap w/ Fokker EIII's and I managed to shoot one down. Then I was shredded by his squad mates and started plummeting to the Earth not in control of my shot up aircraft. My plane was spinning down but before I hit the Earth I'm switched to the de-briefing screen health and alive (though my plane is a total loss). Is there a fix for this? Thanks.
