I know this has probably been asked before but... i've just reformatted my pc and now need to install OFF. i'd like to get it right first time so can someone give me a quick install procedure guide i.e Install OFF main - super patch - HitR etc. Or point me to the discussed topic previously? I'm about to re-format my pc but i need to keep my current pilots in OFF so when i reinstall i can put them back in and carry on the war. i really dont want to lose them, especially my german jasta5 pilot with 39 confirmed kills and 5 medals. Can someone tell me how i can save the pilot files and put them back in when i reinstall OFF. Many thanks

I just finished a book called "Aces Falling", really good read and full of combat reports from WW1 aces. brilliant first hand insight to WW1 aerial combat.

Ok so thought i'd record my flight patrol as i've never done any in game recording before,... wish i hadn't because it was the end of my pilots career! i made a mistake and broke a rule which i usually dont,.... i went after the same target as my wingman and.... well you can see how it ended. Jasta 4 1918 and i ran into a flight of Spads.

thanks for the good feed back on the vid gents, i'm gutted i lost my pilot with it though. As you can see before i take off i look at Ernst udet just behind me who was also in the flight, it gave me great confidence knowing i would be flying up there with a great ace. Olham - i will try and upload the video without music so you can view. Siggi - Asus record is a piece of software that came with my Graphics card ASUS EAH4850 which enables me to video in game, thats the first time i've ever tried the software since having the Card for over 7 months now.

Im flying for USA 94th in campaign mode and i decided to change my personal skin on the spad 13, but when the mission started i noticed that the other aces flying in flight 2 had also changed their skin to the same as mine? is this a fault withing the program or is it just my install? Thanks

ahh so it would appear there is a problem with the 94th ace skin, there defaulting to whatever your plane skin is for some reason? so its not just my install then? by the way thanks for your time in helping me with this red dog, wasnt sure if it was me doing something wrong?

ok, gonna try add a picture to show you what i get. (not sure how you add a picture to a post so if this doesnt show then can someone tell me how to?) if you can see the picture then you should see that i've changed my skin but in the line up of spads you can see also any ace has defaulted to my skin?

hey olham, yeah already saved under different name, its one of the skins uploaded to combat ace that i tried. i also tried just a default OFF ace skin for a spad 13 but the same thing happend, all other aces in flight 2 defaulted to the same skin as me? the problem just seems to be with the 94th at the moment, i've tested others with british and german pilots and all works ok with them. hmm if no one else has experianced a problem like this with the 94th then perhaps i'll try a reinstall?

Hi red dog, yeah it just seems to be with the 94th at the moment, just flew a mission with my jasta 10 pilot with different skin and the other aces kept there own so it was ok. hmm, bit strange. i will try again with the 94th to see if it was just a glitch or something?

My AI aircraft dont seem to burn and smoke slightly when they have been shot down and crashed on the ground like they did before the superpatch, you know how the wreckage burned slightly with smoke going up to the sky, well my AI plough into the ground in big puff of dust (very nicely done btw) but they dont burn or smoke?,.. just the wreckage pieces. is it suppose to be like this in the new superpatch or is it something with me? yesterday i reinstalled my OS from scratch so had to reinstall OFF again with the new superpatch which is the first time so was just wondering if something is wrong with my set up or its suppose to be like that.

Does anyone have screen shot of a damage aircraft thats been peppered with flapping fabric? i've never seen this effect in OFF, although i can see visual damage to my aircraft, i've never seen the flapping fabric in the wind and would like to see this effect.

Hi, does anyone know what the Fokker D7 on the banner at the top of this webpage with the yellow nose, which jasta squadron it belongs to? I'd like to fly with these jasta colours in OFF but dont know what squadron they belong too? Cheers

Hi, need urgent help with trackIR pro 4, finially purchased TrackIR4 pro last week largely due to playing so much OFF that i wanted to experiance it with head movement. So its arrived and i've set it all up, got it working, everything looks ok... But it wont work while im playing OFF? No blue LED is lite when i launch/playing the game. it works with other Sim games ok i.e first eagles, Grid etc but it wont work with OFF? what am i doing wrong? is there something im missing? i've got upto date natural point drivers so im not sure why this isnt working in OFF? please help anyone, any advise will be much appreciated! im really looking forward to playing this game with TrackIR. Thanks

Thanks for the tips steve, will try what you've suggested when i get home. i tested the head movement etc before launching the OFF game and everything is ok, i also assigned virtual cockpit key command but does nothing in game when i press it. I just had a thought, i dont think i can remember seeing the OFF profile in TrackIR 4 profiles? i saw combat flight sim 3 and just pressumed that was what it needed to work in OFF? i ran the game profile update in trackir 4 program but i dont think OFF is in the trackir 4 profile tab? do you think that could be the problem? that it doesnt have a profile for OFF?.. should there be a profile for OFF exe spicifically in TrackIR 4 program? Was thinking i should manually download the game profiles from Natural Point and try that?
