  1. OT- F****** Idiots!..hahaha

There's an emoticon for this. Never thought I'd get to use it, all you people here being so sensible, but it's damned appropriate for those idiots... RTFM!
  2. I have started to....

Didn't French Colonial Troops carry that on into WW2 as well? Must have put the fear up their foe it it were true.
  3. Thanks, Hauksbee. I d/l'd a 7"x10" template from the web but it seemed huge to use online, requiring scrolling which I think is a no-no. So I reduced it but kept the proportions. If noone has any objection I'll suggest it as the standard page size. It was also marked out with trim and bleed limits so could be scaled up to be printed if the content is kept within the trim lines. Comic Blank Template
  4. Now why is that?

My apologies. I do appreciate the explanation. In my opinion this sim is already a winner, and there's none who've experienced it as would disagree with that - so you have won Ironically though, there is so much quality that when a bit one liked goes missing one notices.
  5. That's such a simple but such a GOOD idea... how come I missed it? I shall do that henceforth. Cheers for the tip, Red-Dog.
  6. Now why is that?

Winder, For what it's worth I'm with the others on this one. I don't know how often the immersion-killing crazy loops etc. happened but it never did to me in P2 - and I died A LOT. Along with everyone else I think this masterpiece you and the guys have created is the Mutt's Cojones. I'm therefore reluctant to make requests for change, preferring you guys to prioritise as you see fit - God knows, you've deserved it - but if this aspect of the manager could be reversed without too much grief I wonder if it were worth polling. I for one, like BH, miss the terrifying plunge to earth feeling Death's cold hand on my heart (or the Devil's fiery breath in my face, depending how I 'went West'). I found it MORE immersive, even if in reality I would have been already dead. And it did make for some excellent and sobering screenies.
  7. The originals are layered Photoshop files and they are quite large, e.g. the last page I posted is over 12 MB as a .PSD, but exported to .JPG format with the Photoshop export quality setting at High it shrinks to 361KB. I think membership rating may change upload limits too... I can't remember what it said when I paid my sub., I'm afraid.
  8. Absolutely! All kudos goes to Red-Dog for the original idea. And credit to all the original posters of the screenshots I've nicked, you'll be named in the final version I was just experimenting atm. Now, if Red-Dog's idea works as intended, there'll be several contributors each with a different story. I had an idea it'd be a good feature to include a true story too each month (or arbitrary time period), re-enacted in BHaH. I was going to have a go at Hawker vs. Richthofen when I'd finished the above... over-ambitious as usual. I also think it would be good to have a standard page size. I'd appreciate any suggestions as to what that should be from the more experienced webcomic readers or creators, as this is the first one I've ever done.
  9. Cheers All. I'll put together the rest of it sometime soon.
  10. F7 Bomb Sight Views

Thanks for the info, BH. I think the Strutter has bomb bay doors. I assume you had them open and weren't trying to use the bombsight with the lens cap on? Could check myself of course but I'm too lazy.
  11. OT- Youtube

Don't you mean you call a Spad a Spad?
  12. in the future released

These are available on Turbosquid at around the $40 mark, excepting the N27 and the DXII at $121. Interestingly, the Voisin 5 is FREE (so I grabbed it in case they change their mind). They are all 3DS Max format, polygon range is 13000 to 100000 (Caudron) with most in the 30000 area. Don't know if that's of interest or of use?
  13. in the future released

I'd second that, especially as I've just finished reading Sagittarius Rising for the umpteenth time. If people complained about the Eindecker, just wait for the moans about the Parasol... assuming the FM's accurate.
  14. 1st campaign mission

Glad you've joined the throng (relatively speaking) of people loving BHaH, Luftace. As you'll come to realise (if you don't already) it's not a flight sim, it's an flight sim-centered WW1 experience. As far as claims are concerned: Learn the names of your wingmen and watch out in case they change (they go on leave, are missing, killed etc.) and put them all down on any claim. Note where the engagement was, e.g. 1 mile E of La Gorgue and put that down. Note the time and include that, plus altitude and a rough guess at rounds fired. Note the EA type and any markings and add that as well. I've never had a claim refused for any of my (mostly deceased) pilots in any of my many campaigns. Sometimes an engagement may seem inconclusive because you had to flee apparently without result, but you'll get credit for an EA you shot down even if it crashes after you've left the scene. Get into the habit of noting the above and you won't be kicking yourself when the claim form pops up.
  15. in the future released

I'd cheerfully cough up for an add-on aircraft as would most people around these parts as have posted on the subject. We'd need some idea of likely cost for a professional 3D modeller to create new aircraft and an invitation to tender might need drawing up to ensure compatibility and quality etc. I don't know what needs doing to convert from 3D format xyz to CFS3 format or what poly limits there are but if it's easily done then Hell I'd happily just buy one from a commercial 3D site and donate it. As far as new aircraft, I support OvS' point but the most expedient solultion would be to fill in any career-stopping blanks first, IMHO.
  16. Heh, not any more UncleAl. The devs have done such a brilliant job of creating a totally immersive WWI experience that medals, promotions and squadmates matter - more than I've felt in any sim since Their Finest Hour - not least because it's so difficult to survive long enough to get or keep them.
  17. Crikey! That picture. I didn't know the Addams Family flew for Germany in The Great War!
  18. Interesting observation, Siggi! Otherwise an awesome skin, must roll up another SE pilot... there must be some more of the Rhys family who have yet to serve. Congrats to Fubar and here's to the next compo.
  19. I prefer rugged, purposeful-looking kites, e.g. preferring the Hurri to the Spit and the P51B to the P51D etc. That Nupe 28 is an ugly bird to my eyes, the Brisfit is a delight.
  20. 5 Kills = DFC or Iron Cross or French equivalent. 25 Kills (I think) = VC or (Blue Max?). Beyond that I don't think anyone other than the devs know. The medal system is undergoing an overhaul so it may be that it's not yet working as desired. That's speculation on my part though.
  21. That gets 56 Sqn's vote. 'Course they may be ever so slightly biased
  22. Olham, If you're losing sight of an EA playing in Creaghorn-mode you could always try snapping Padlock On then Off again, assuming you can still target the EA even w/o TAC. If it works it'd be like catching a glimpse out of the corner of your eye, which TrackIR can't simulate, even as good as it is.
  23. The story begins

Agree with that. Maybe an inset to break up the rectangularity - panel 4 would be a good candidate. The last panel is the best, composition-wise, the rule of thirds doesn't apply only to photography. You will have a big problem with introducing characters unless you can find a good source in an FPS mod or something. World of WorldWarOneCraft anyone Excellent start, mind, and an inspired thought to start one. I look forward to more.
  24. Oh, I'd recommend Photoshop anytime... it's much more powerful. But not everybody has it and with a bit more work Paintshop can produce effects of equal quality.
  25. I forgot something.... Instruction 5 should have read: 5. Select the second duplicate (top layer). Make visible. Apply a Hot Wax Coating. Change the Layer Blend to Burn. Adjust Opacity to 75% Now it's an Ink Print. I've changed the original post but in case it's missed....
