How much space FE/SF/WOV/WOE takes in your HD?
FOTF replied to Silverbolt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I have just over a TB worth of HD space (a 600 Gig master with a 500 gig slave) and my main WoE install takes up 73 gigs and then I have a seperate install that I use exclusively for skinning, it just has the Naval aircraft I skin and that is another 14 -
Try www.hobbywave.com Also....if you can...I would suggest moving up to 1/100th scale....The Master Grade series in 100th scale is awesome....High Grade is pretty good too.

OK....this may be a stupid question....but here goes. Was the F-105 a part of the Century Series of aircraft, or was it just a coincidence that it had a designation in that same range.... I mean...the thing was so ugly and all the others in the century series were so sleek looking....just doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the aircraft in the series.

PCC 2007 mod for rFactor released
FOTF replied to Revvin's topic in Racing Simulations General Discussions
That's a little premature -
So, technically...F-100 through F-106 were part of the Century Series. as those were the only aircraft to actually receive proper operational designations

What the hell is a F-108? Never even heard of that....and the 107 was that weird looking plane with the intake above the cockpit, right?

Most damaged aircraft that remained flyable
FOTF replied to Hawk MMS's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The removal of my wing was from a earth to wing encounter....flying a little too "Map of the earth" for comfort and trimmed a little excess metal off. Based on the amount of control surface that was removed from my plane, and the fact that I lost virtually no performance...I would be willing to say that is a faulty damage model. That plane landed just as easily with one wing as with two. -
Need a missle 'looked at'
FOTF replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hey Wrench, did you ever work at 3DRealms? -
How about this....instead of pumping out the same game year after year....use the Madden engine to create an update to Mutant League Football!!!!

I lost the entire port wing on a Tomcat from the glove down. I put her down on solid ground (on the runway even!) -
To compare 2K's contribution to sport games with that of EA's is ludicrous. First of, the 2K series actually builds on the foundation of the previous year, rather than putting out a thinly veiled roster update in the form of a new game. They actually improve the game, add new features, etc. NFL 2K5 is hardly the game NFL 2K2 was, which cannot be said it's EA Sports counterpart. Furthermore, 2K charges a bargin bin-esque price of merely 20 dollars for their new iteration of your favorite sports game. Whereas our friends at EA deem fit to charge you a full 40 to 50 dollars for above mentioned roster update. As far as "exclusive licensing" goes, EA is by far the worst. Don't throw Sony on the fire based on their use of the F1 license and leave out EA. Their misuse of the Exclusive NFL license is well deserving of a similiar if not worse fate. Their own laziness in updating simple things in the Madden franchise has shown the only reason they purchased the exclusive rights for NFL games was not to improve the franchise by making it the official game of the NFL, but by eliminating their competition. There are players that have been in the league for over 3 years that still have a computer generated portrait rather than their official NFLPA portrait, uniforms are not correct, players are not even correct (For proof of this, look no further than the Chiefs kicker, who is left footed in real life, but root footed in the game).

New Mod Announcement - updated 10-10-07
FOTF replied to FOTF's topic in Racing Simulations General Discussions
The mod is getting a little change. I have an updated version of the Mosler MT900R that competes in the GT class. The mod will new feature Moslers racing against Saleen S7Rs...or Ford vs. Chevy if you like. More details to come. -
