Anyone care to help teach an old dog a new trick?
FOTF replied to FOTF's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Well, I thought I had hex edited all there was to edit...I am a little rusty with the old hex program, so it is very possible I missed something. How many entries for the bmp is in the LOD? -

Cool! I have been thinking about doing something like this using some plans I found for a sit down arcade cabinet. BTW...what's the printer for?

abandon what? I deny abandoning the confirmation of the denial. -
I am selling custom arcade cabinets. These arcade cabinets are PC based, so you can play anything you can on a PC. I run MAME, Virtual Pinball as well as a few PC games on these guys. Doom on one of these things are a blast! As mentioned, these are custom cabinets. So no one is like the other. Whether you are looking for a replica Pac Man cabinet or a generic cabinet for playing MAME, just ask. Because of the custom nature of these cabinets, pricing depends on what you want. I can include trackballs, lightguns, spinners, just about anything you can think of. Shoot me a PM for details

VA-115 A-1H skin and VA-22 A-4C skin?
FOTF replied to bigstone's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Check out the way the skins are named in the default A-4E folders....the bitmaps are just named "A-4_Nose.bmp"....Don't put an E....... -

VA-115 A-1H skin and VA-22 A-4C skin?
FOTF replied to bigstone's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Doesn't take but a second to adapt them....the bitmaps are universal between the variations of A-4. So the A-4F have bmp files called "A-4F_Nose.bmp", etc....just copy the squadron directory over to the A-4C, change the name of the bitmaps to "A-4C_Nose.bmp" etc....and make sure the decal.ini reads A-4C rather than A-4F, and you are good to go. Doing a simple "Replace" function in the decal.ini will make that go real fast, just go "Edit>Replace" then type "A-4F" in the "Find What" field and "A-4C" in the "Replace With" field.... Let me know if you have troubles, and I can easily adapt it for you -

Oh dude....joygasm!!!! Thanks for the screenshots. Do you take payment plans? The "moral" comment was way out of line and border line retarded. I was rather proud of the fact that we were having a spirited, yet civil conversation about something and then that comment happened. I am a free mod guy. I give my stuff away for anyone who wants to use it and all I ask is that they come to me and ask me if they want to include it or release a modified version of it. That is ALL I ask of people who download my things. Hell, if one of the pay mod guys wanted to download my skins, I say more power to ya man! Just more people to enjoy my hobby with. I understand I am very lucky to not have to pay for server costs because of guys like Erik and all the CombatAce crew. I also understand that servers can get expensive, especially with people downloading files, sucking up precious bandwidth....so what better way to recoup the costs than charge for the very file that is being downloaded, wasting that bandwidth. Morals has absolutely nothing to do with it, so leave em at the door. -

FOTF replied to Edward's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Yeah, I have to agree with Russ on that....it isn't the whole payware thing that gets my goat, it's the way this one was presented. Take Prowler's stuff for example, he has always been payware...so it is easier to swallow. When you see a "Coming Soon" screenshot from him, you know it is payware and his stuff is priced (at least IMO) fairly. When you look at the price for the terrains, it is a tough pill to swallow. Granted, I am sure a lot of work went into them...but 15 bucks worth? Especially considering you can get a pack of new aircraft models with multiple variations for less. If these were priced appropriately, I would probably be crashing into that new terrain right now. That said, if Prowler ever decides to bring over his Skyhawks packs, I am first in line for those (hint hint). I have been dying for a two seater Scooter since day 1 -

Ahhhh.....can you feel the love? BTW....your check is in the mail And USAFMTL is right....this is a civil conversation, just people airing out different opinions. THAT is what seperates this community from the guys over at SHQ. I haven't seen one person call someone a doo doo head once!
