  1.

    Sid -- its better to make a dedicated 2k or 3k map for a smaller selected region. On this old thing, I compromised terrain detail to get the 6k size, so cropping is not the best idea since a smaller map can better tolerate more terrain detail.

    To find coordinates, do you run the game and use free camera with highly tweaked settings? I find placement easy. I can poastup my free camera view settings.

    I already DID make an attempt at that lol

    Look, I'd love nothing more than to be able to use the entire map. My main issue is, finding the right texture map for the height map and being able to apply it. Sure, most of Asia might be green, but the Himalayas, Arctic, and Greenland regions are on the same map, and are QUITE differently colored, of course. Even at low elevations... :ok:

    See what I mean? Honestly, I wouldn't mind a long range strike mission or two...

  2. Just to let you know, the 6k x 6k terrain works right out of the gate...didn't have to do anything to use it. Obviously it's unfinished, but the basics are there.

    For those inclined, this may be the perfect terrain to play with our current and future Mach 3 players...anyone want to run with this?

    FC

    I, actually, HAVE been working with the Baikal terrain...on and off.

    Last time WAS about two years ago...

    The reason? it's so big, finding accurate coordinates takes ages, and I got MAD impatient. :lol:

    If one might find a good texture set to use, that incorporates all regions and climates...

    then place and texture all desired bases and target areas...It's like a new Double D's map! no messing around... :ok:

    I found other things also.

    since the distances are accurate...crop it off some, and you get a realistic JASDF mod...

    or perhaps even a realistically distanced Korea mod, kind of like FreeFalcon's Korea128. :good:

  3. Sorry, but correction there, SidDogg, the J-10 is not mine, it is Erwin_Hans' and InSky.

    I have just touched a few things in the data.ini file and added the proper underwing tanks.

    By the way you are missing the ejection seat, it is in the pack I've sent you.

    A few things I would love to see fixed with this bird are:

    - ailerons working also as flaps; could not fix that myself, probably a missing animation;

    - main gear shocks - movement will not be quite realistic, because as I see it, the main gear is modelled as a single piece;

    - outerwing IRM missile rails should be a bit longer for a more true-to-life look, but only one who has the max file and the skill can fix that;

    - FM - no idea there

    :drinks:

    ...I stand corrected. And I apologize.

    Well, there are DEFINITELY two different LOD's out there, because I was checking them BOTH out, skins and all.

    Both are good, but this one is by far THE BEST. It's got EVERYTHING.

    So, what else do you plan to do to mod it up some more? After doing some research, I deem that it's been masterfully crafted, but it's not done yet...

    ...perhaps some more skins are in order??? ^_^ :grin::haha:

  4. @Svetlinh, YOUR J-10 Kicks MAJOR azzzz!!!!! :wub:

    I think I'm stickin. :grin:

    ...So I'm flying Himalayas, right? Double D's...

    TELL ME WHY I'M DOING MACH 2.1 AT ANGELS 44 OUTPACING 4 F-15 ON A STRIKE MISSION! ...SHACK.

    They even chased me all the way off the target with Sparrows...I was halfway home when they got me.

    ...REAL TALK. We could mess with this some more, if you want...

  5. SidDogg, I have it showing and besides that I have already fitted the M2K 1700 tank from the MF weapons packs (this looks just like the underwing tank on the photo posted here). Right now my videocard is being replaced, so for a couple of days I won't have access to my files, but after that, if you are interested, I could send you the files, including some ini edtis I have done to improve the weapons loading positions. Reagrds, Svetlin

    ...Sounds like a plan.

    I would appreciate that, thank you.

  6. .....Hey, folks.

    I have a question...BEEN looking through the resident weapons packs.

    ...Are there ANY Type 250-3 series bombs? ANYWHERE?

    I was just looking at the J-10A's loadout INI, and there seems to be no bombs like that in the Ordnance Shop...

    ...I've found that the original 250-3 was maybe a copy of the BL-755?

    But I figured someone here knew more about all of this...

    well, whenever ya'll have time...

  7. well to be honest with you that's the sharpest one I've seen so far out of the whole lot. There's a C version that was done in "VA-106" markings but as said this one is just very nice. Shame they didn't approve it. But the T-45 B one is sharp though :good:

    Well, I'm doing some more now...

    They DO have a Korean-Era scheme Hornet out there with VFA-106...

    ...just check it out.
