Edit: Good to see HS-14 is giving you enough time for hobbies SD.HAHAHAHAHAH I'LL SAY LOL
It's funny doe...
It's the weekend, and the rest of CAG-5 was STILL flyin
...I guess that's what happens when you go hard on an 8-month cruise, and
knock out all your tasking and come out ahead of the game....
...You can actually take a little breather
-
No joy. It looks like aircraft will only fly if the squadron assigned to the aircraft are on the SquadronList.ini file. I also tried to add the VF-43 squadron to the squadronlist but it didn't recognise it. What a bummer. That is because instead of Squadron=, you have to change it to UnitName= in the AirUnit data f the Campaign6_DATA.INI...
Here's an example:
[AirUnit004]
AircraftType=A-4B
Squadron=VA36 <<<----change Squadron= to UnitName=, then type in VF-43 Challengers and see what happens...
ForceID=1
Nation=USN

When I move the modded .ini files into Terrains\Desert that yields a ctd on startup....Just looked at my modded Terrains\Desert folder again...
I realize that what I had done was extract ALL files from desert.cat using the new CAT Extractor.....
Then I moved ALL the Extracted files to The Mod Directory.....
Then, I also copied the DESERT.CAT File into the Modded Terrains Directory.....
.....so basically, it should be the contents of the Desert.CAT in the Modded Terrains\Desert folder.
If this fails, I'll get to it later, because my stuff works, I even posted a pic earlier in this thread...
But for right now, I gotta get to work... best of luck
-
That just causes a CTD on startup. No, No, in my last post.
I meant RENAME the Terrain folder in you Mod Directory to TERRAINS
That's the folder name SF2 uses now, instead of just Terrain.
-
Yeah, those are where they should be. Still starts off with me exploding down in the southeast corner. Like it doesn't actually read the data files or something. Where did you put your extracted terrain inis? Do they go into the \terrain\ folder or into \terrain\desert\? Confused here because I added Stary's desert environment mod, which goes into the former.UHP! THAT'S THE PROBLEM!!!
ALL Mods must go into the Mod Folder [ <Windows User>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 ]
Once you get there, MOVE the modded terrain files into the Terrains\Desert folder in this directory...
...if There is no Terrains or Desert folder, create one.
The same goes for Objects, Campaigns, etc.
-
What and where is that?.....check it.

It didn't work before I tried adding those so it's probably not that either.I didn't see the AirData of the squadrons on there, you DID add the carrier to those?
-
Using the SCB-125, in the correct folder etc. Still no go :(Here's how my inis are set up:
Desert_Types.ini:
Desert Targets.ini:
Desert_Nations.ini:
Campaign6_Data.ini:
ummm.... you DO know you don't need the entries in the Desert_TYPES.INI, right?
that's probably what's conflicting with your other entries.....
-
I've tried to add the carriers as per C5's article, WITH the correct #'s, yet the carrier refuses to show up and my base is somewhere out in infinity beyond the southeast corner of the map. Any ideas?yep.
for starters, use the WoV stock CVA-63...
copy ALL LODs, BMPs, and .INIs from the WoV ObjectData.CAT
make a new CVA-63 folder in your SF2 Groundobject Mod directory in <user>\Saved Games\...[yada yada]
Paste Files into new CVA-63 directory...
Mod Campaign or Single Mission accordingly!
-
Yo, CRAB!
Think you're slick, huh?
So ummm when arr you going to RELEASE???!
-
Nice.... though maybe a rescale? Because the winders shouldn't be shorter than the rails. Here's something to maybe go off of the MF Hornet.. Scratch that, could be positioning..actually, that picture is about right.....
the Sidewinders ARE positioned a bit forward on the the wingtip launch rails...
-
I dunno... it "works" for me, the straightened pylons as such on Erwin_Hans's model just doesn't look right... But that's just me.HEY!
that's just realism for ya, man.
ain't no shame in it.....
-
These people never give up.Even when facing my wingman.
What can we say? They're Paranis, man.....
-
That's because SF2's Desert.INI doesn't specify where the CAT File should be.....
...you would have to make the entry again.
-
...dang.....can't believe you just did that.
but, at any rate, good on ya
-
well gee.....
wonder when it'll be released...
-
I'm in the F-4J, getting intercept by some Fishpots.ohhhhh now THAT'S a nice shot!!!
...but you really need to check that fuel leak tho...
-
soooo ummm has anyone figured out the whole weapons dilemma yet?
-
EHH!!!! EHHHH!!!!
...EH.
JUST BEIN HELPFUL IS ALL
-
has anybody added a Terrain yet?331KB
YEP
JUST ADD IT TO YOUR TERRAIN FOLDER IN THE <USER>\SAVED GAMES\THIRDWIRE\STRIKEFIGHTERS2 FOLDER.....
MAKE SURE THE *.CAT FILE IS WITH IT
