IL2 clouds for First Eagles
gumpy posted a file in First Eagles - WWI and Early Years - Terrain and Environmental Mods
Version
902 downloads
Ok here it is IL2 clouds for First Eagles. It took some editing and some experimenting with different TARGA files to get this effect but I think it looks damn good.I made this mod using the first WideSky V1.0 mod by cellinsky available here and the CLOUD1 TARGA file came from Benders wonderful clouds mod for IL2 available at AAA,so I can't guarantee it will work with any of the other sky mods available here.If you want to use this and you are using a different sky mod you will probably have to revert back to WideSky V1.0.Thanks to cellinsky and Bender for their original mods and I hope they approve of this effect their combined mods creates for First Eagles. -
Well I'll be darned! Thanks for teachin a old dog a new trick peter01.

I'm still flying the good old FE with expansion pack and really don't know how the file structure works in FE2 but, there should be some text you have to add to the config text file in the prospective planes folder your adding the skin to.Don't get me wrong here and I mean no disrespect but,are you reading the readme text documents when you download a skin? For instance here is one of my readme's Unzip to WWI/Objects/Aircraft/FokkerDr1 Folder and edit FokkerDr1 config text by adding these lines to the bottom: [TextureSetxxx] Directory=Werner Voss Name=Werner Voss Nation=GERMANY Squadron= Specular=0.300000 Glossiness=0.250000 Reflection=0.000000 Change the xxx to the next texture number in line. Go into game and select mission with FokkerDr1, go into loadout screen and select Werner Voss ------Are you adding the text to the correct config text file?like I said and I might be wrong I'm not familiar with FE2 file structure but,I'll almost bet you still have to add the corresponding text to the config text file.

Newbie practice to play WOV!
gumpy replied to skyline's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hi skyline and welcome,if I were you I would start out on easy and work my way up to the hard settings, get used to the game and get some flying under your belt before you go all out.Remember if you start out on hard and get frustrated then the game will probably end up on a shelf somewhere,I've seen this happen with some of the games my kids have bought.Would not want this to happen to such a fantastic game like WOV or you. -
PadFoot do you have your copy of IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 modded? If not go here All Aircraft Arcade :: Index or here Special Aircraft Service - Index

Please I need some help!
gumpy posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Ok guys I need to pick your brains for some help on this because I can't seem to figure it out.Last week everything was going fine it was late Friday night when I turned my computer off, things seemed a little fishy because it just switched right off and it usually takes about 5 to 7 minutes to go through the shut down process, anyway lets go to Saturday when I tried to boot up (Windows will not start because one of the system 32 files was either corrupt or could not be found) AAAAAAAHHH"WTF" this was a week long process of trying to run a systems repair, which I finally gave up on because I could not get by a administrator password.I did not want to do a system restore and lose all my info so I went and got a new hard drive and put it in the computer reinstalled Windows and motherboard drivers also Nvidia card drivers. Here is where the help part comes in. I have had 7or8 different installs of the games on external hard drives for a long time WOE,WOV,FE,SF1 modded in several different configurations now when I go to start them it keeps saying d3dx9_30.dll or IFC23.dll could not be found,so I downloaded them from the web and I got 1 install of WOE working 1 install of FE working and 1 install of WOV working, on the other installs I replaced the dll files and I can get to the fly screen and press fly and "WAMO" ctd! Here's the kicker I tried installing WOE to get the correct dll files and it wouldn't or didn't install them.Does anyone have an idea what might be going on here, or how can I fix this problem? -

When you have a 500 GB hard drive that's darn near full and two externals that are in the same condition,it takes a little while to go trough the shutdown. The new hard drive kind of alleviated the time it took though, much better now. -
