  1. Stratos 4

Most of the modelling work is done, now It's really just a matter of INI editing Known problems so far: The reason they used Zero length launchers becomes obvious, while the missile just clears the ground with gear down, it is destroyed during rotation on takeoff or landing. For some reason the plane leans heavily to the right with the missile attached, my guess it that the centerline of the Mig does not coincide wit the center of gravity, or that my model is very slightly of kilter. It's fairly easy to manually correct though
  2. Stratos 4

Actually you beat me to it, I'm looking into some free programs like Daz 3D to attempt it
  3. Stratos 4

As it is in the ASAT mission you only have a limited amount of time to shoot down the satellite. As for the Zero-length launch system, something like it exists in the form of the carrier catapaults, so maybe we could adapt that, for now I'm working on the booster and missile.
  4. Reay for launch, Tee minus fifteen seconds Ad lift-off of the Rocketcat 'Wolfgang' on its mission of exploration Approaching operational altitude Cruising at mach 2.5, 80,000 feet Beginning re-entry deacceration (maybe the MkII will have thrust vectoring retro-rockets) This mach 2.4 split S took 20,000 feet to complete at mach 2 Approaching home-plate in glide
  5. Well since the MiG-31 has been released I suppose I should get to work on the meteror sweeper varient
  6. Well considering it's at a similar stage of development as the nuclear powered car, it's anyone's guess. Personnally I prefer the clamshells. And I forgot we had a C-130 pit, d'oh
  7. I hadn't given much thought to the cockpit put it probably would be somewhat ridiculous to keep using the same on B-17G cockpit. I'll be spending all my time trying to get this airborne, so maybe if one of our pit builders felt lik making a simple modern cockpit. Right now I'm working a cargo/bomber configuration. maybe afterwards there'll be a tanker and/or AWACs EDIT I made a simple awacs dish for testing and started skinning the wheels.
  8. make it fly!

You should probably put some tips together in the knowledge base for creating aircraft for the game, I've run into a bit of a brick wall with my beriev too.
  9. Use winzip to to but all the skin folders in a .zip file then upload it using the 'attachments' window directly below the text window whe you are posting. then select the file from the drop-down menu 'manage current attachments'
  10. ... Well I liked it *cradles Yukikaze boxset*
  11. Some call it the Brokeback air force.
  12. F-22 RWR

For the purposes of the sim, the raptor has a radar cross section of zero and is hence totally invisible to radar, you can't be locked-on to or have radar guided missiles fired at you. change to radar cross section value to a positive and the rwr will work fine. however you will get shot down.
  13. The talon has about 20 engines though.
  14. Whatcha building right now?

Correct. I'll have to see about getting some decal paper and printing off the unicorn crest. EDIT: Well the Tiger II is mostly finished, but I got some new ones to practice on.
  15. Whatcha building right now?

I'm just messing with this, trying to get the hand of modelling. Points to anyone who can guess where the colour scheme is from
  16. Guess Who. Just a little something to take my mind off of the Be-2500, which is driving me nuts. (incidently for those in the know, does the controller for every part of the model (wheels, etc) have to be set to TCB? , or just the animated parts?
  17. Absolutely right, sadly there aren't many pictures of it on the net, I have two of the mock-up and thats about it. But since none of the pictures actually concurr on where anything's supposed to be, I guess thats okay.
  18. Poll: Most powerful / moving game moments

In Metal Gear Solid when In Metal Gear Solid 2 when In Metal Gear Solid 3 when
  19. Anybody remember Stratos 4? Might go well with the ASAT mission, can't wait for Craig's TSR2 Incidently, for those following my Be-2500 oroject, no it isn't flyable yet but... Exams are killing me, I'm spending this whole month on them. Probably should have studied more.
  20. Actually you can change the pipper manually to caged, I think there's a variable in the weaponsdata
  21. I was playing with them, but I'm busy with exams for the rest on the month. It's pretty easy to load up a rocket pod with heatseakers or radar guided missiles, and you do't evn have to display the missile itself prior to lauch. The only problem is that in flight it appears as an air to ground weapon only. What I have so far is a rather crudely skinned GU-11 from the VF-0 3ds model in the download base and an unrefined AMM-1 I made myself. I intend to refine the AMM-1 skin later and if I ever get the Be-2500 flying on its own then I may approach the VF-0 as my next project. But just for placeholders, here are the .LODs and skins (you'll need to make your own weaponsdata.ini entry) Keep in mind that the gunpod model isn't mine, but since the entire model is free for use I don't mind letting everyone have a taste. 22. Damn Craig, you keep making me look bad. I've gotta get out of college and get a real job so that I have enough free time to do that.
  23. WIP, ETA... well, don't hold your breath. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beriev_Be-2500
  24. Beriev 2500

I was starting in the air, but I think I found the problem, I forgot to set the motion controllers to TCB and one of the skin bitmaps was set to a jpg, I think I've got it now.
  25. Beriev 2500

I got the animations done now and I thinks it's almost ready for a test flight. I'm using the B-52 flight model for now. EDIT: Okay, what am I doing wrong? I keep getting a Crash to desktop.
