Dave, my point is that in the end facts won't pose a problem to any conspiracy theory. The numerous attempts to debunk these theories usually cause the creation of new ones. You simply can't overcome a handy, yet perverted psychological mechanism that relieves people from the 'burden of reality'. A conspiracy theory helps people to cope with a reality they can't cope with; be it by eliminating contradictive/dissonant perceptions or by reducing the complexity of particular relation. It's not that they have the wrong facts; they simply believe in their theory, because it explains everything. You're lost when this mechanism becomes pathologic. Anti-semitism works exactly the same way: 'Hey, let's blame the Jews for everything we don't understand.' That can be a pain in the ass, especially when you're a teacher...

How a conspiracy theory works: If it gets debunked by scientific facts, it's probably another conspiracy by 'them' to cover up the 'truth'. Simple, yet convincing. Life can be so easy.

AL downloads?

AL planes? In case you mean AI only planes, you could delete the reference to the cockpit in the [name_of_fancy_aircraft_you_want_to_blow_out_of_the_sky].ini. That works with any a/c. -

Campaign offline for WoI!

Syntax tells me that some kind of translation software was used. If not, sorry! I guess the answer to your question is no, but you could try editing the campaign files yourself. Edit: This should help: http://bunyap2w1.com/camptut3.htm. Editing the flyable squadrons in your WOIcamp.ini and the adjusting the 'Alignment=' entry under [ForceXXX] in your campaign_data.ini should do the trick. -

All that jinking and banking didn't help him; even though I had to slam on the brakes real hard I perforated the poor bastard shortly after. -

Most likely the cockpit is missing, so make sure the [put aircraft name here].ini points to a cockpit(.ini) that is in your install. -

That's the museum in Sinsheim, which is somehow connected to the one in Speyer (they even share a website). Been there about 10 years ago, I guess it has changed a lot.

A 5 star rating says it all... -
Yesterday I watched Waltz With Bashir (<- link to the official website that has two trailers) at the local film festival and I'm still impressed by both the movie (about Ari Folman trying to discover his memories of the Lebanon war in general and the Sabra and Shatila massacres in particular) and the soundtrack (including PIL, OMD and a hebrew cover version of Cake's I Bombed Korea). What makes it even better is the fact that the movie succeeds in adressing these somber topics without Israel-bashing. Highly recommended! BTW, does anyone know the name of the song played during the tank scene? edit: damn typos...

F-16A (144 Squadron) skin for WoI
wilco posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
File Name: F-16A (144 Squadron) skin for WoI File Submitter: wilco File Submitted: 9 Oct 2008 File Category: F-16 F-16A Netz 'Guardians of the Arava' (144 Squadron) skin for WoI: This skin is for Thirdwire's stock F-16A Netz and depicts a batch of F-16A given to Israel under the Peace Marble IV program as a reward for its restraint during the Gulf War. Most of these aircraft were ex-ANG/AFRes aircraft, that retained their USAF air superiority gray color scheme in Israeli service. They joined 144 Squadron at Hatzor AB, making 144 the biggest fighter squadron. It seems that they were randomly numbered in the 7XX range, so I picked 752, 777 and everything in between. INSTALLATION: Unzip the 'IDFgrey' folder to your F-16A_Netz folder and add the following entry to your F-16A_Netz.ini: [TextureSet002] Directory=IDFgrey Name=IDF Grey Nation=ISRAEL Specular=0.400000 Glossiness=0.400000 Reflection=0.000000 Squadron=144IDF SOURCES: http://www.f-16.net/f-16_users_article7.html http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_276.shtml Eagle Strike Productions: Falcons, Part II (48073) ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: Thanks to TK for WoI and all the other great games. Special thanks to gerwin for his outstanding F-16A template. Have fun! wilco Released under the CombatAce Fair-Use License. If you have any problems or comments, contact me at CombatAce.
