pic of a British aircraft in development

Someone should come up with a good service name. TSR-2 sounds rather antiseptic for an RAF jobbie. -

Taking someone's work, messing around with it and then pushing it as your own is the mark of a cad. 'Nuff said. -

Does it have to be a Hunter F6? There are a lot of free aircraft models for download around the web that can be loaded into Max for playing around with. -

Making tga's with PSP doesn't work for me............... I just create them there, re-open with Gimp (making sure the transparency is open also) and then save once again. Presto, the tga that PSP created (and doesn't work) now works! Don't ask me why! -

suhsjake, Give me a couple of days to sort things out and I'll send on a modified Zuiho with island. Should just be a question then of altering the texture .bmp as you desire and renaming the file to suit. What's your address? Lazboy, You are correct. If people can get beyond the modified Zuiho's looks, I'm sure you'll be able to fly Matadors off her! -

Yes, I thought of that and here's a quick result If somebody feels this is good enough, I can pass it on, but I don't want to spend any more time on it, so whoever wants it will have to come up with a reasonable paint job. -

Well, I'm thinking out loud here, but my model of the Japanese light carrier Zuiho could be used as a stand-in for Lafayette. Approximately the same size, etc., etc. Just needs a paint job. Obviously no island, but the same feel for the flight deck. -

That's a repaint of my old Albion/Bulwark model..................... which would stand in reasonably well for Arromanches, despite obvious differences. Right now, I'm just building things I'm interested in, so while a Colossus Class is somewhere on the theoretical list, an Independence Class isn't, I'm afraid. -

Not too much to report. Just building AA defences and proper masts for the island. -

Oh, I remembered that I have a Daring Class destroyer that's been hanging around unfinished for the last 3 years or so. Still not satisfied with her, as decent drawings are hard to come by. But as she served during Suez, she might be useful. -

No problems. I have a soft spot for Ark Royal, but Eagle has always been my favourite RN carrier, so this is something I've wanted to do for a long time. -

More work on Eagle........... mainly the island (1951 version). -

What we need is a Sea Venom to flesh this Suez thing out. -

Not a classic beauty by any means, but there is something epic about it, especially the turboprop. -
If Mr Anon has another version to add, the more the merrier I say. The next iteration will be looked forward to. There are many ways to skin a cat, as the actress said to the bishop......... although quite why an actress was discussing cat skinning with a bishop is another story. Sorry, a bit obtuse. In other words, people are enjoying your work, and will continue to do so. Doubtless when Anon releases his version, it will be enjoyed also, should it be so enjoyable. Good work.

That's accidental. I was just testing the file structure in-game, so borrowed stuff from Ark Royal.................... a quick deck texture. Lots to do. -

A very basic Eagle takes to the water (in borrowed clothing) for a quick file setup test............. -

Well, that was really just a suggestion. I now cringe when I look at Albion/Bulwark. Many mistakes. If their sister Centaur ever gets finished, I hope to rectify them. -

You'd do better to use my old Albion/Bulwark model for Arromanches, etc. Eagle and Ark Royal were a lot larger than the light fleet carriers of the Colossus Class. -

If anyone's interested, I'm building HMS Eagle as she was during Suez (essentially an axial deck, with painted 'angle', etc.). This will be an all-new build (ignore the island........ just a place saver). As to when.............. more than two weeks!! -
About the Flight Deck
Hinchinbrooke replied to Silverbolt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yes, that works, but then again, the wheels of the aircraft leave the flight deck as they trundle down a supposedly level piece of kit. I seem to remember trying that with Invincible, but then decided, as that looks as silly as ploughing through the jump, to leave things as they were/are. -
About the Flight Deck
Hinchinbrooke replied to Silverbolt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
As of now, there's no way to reproduce a 'ski jump' in TW sims. A flight deck has to be level to work. So a plane will plough through any jump at the moment. Still, as launches are dependent on a 'catapult' and its 'strength', if a catapult is allowed to be curved in the future, that might make launches off harrier carriers more realistic.
