  1. Having built the ship, the name is an object, part of the model.
  2. L63

    Version

    3,384 downloads

L63. A fictitious zeppelin for target practice. You can attempt to fly it if you wish, but don't start on the ground.
  3. Yes, although very old and low poly, that one is mine. Gramps merely hosted when he had a website, way back when.
  4. December 6, 1941

Well said. Cage masts weren't as strong as hoped for, hence the change to tripods.
  5. Invincible

    Version

    2,579 downloads

The RN light carrier HMS Invincible. As she was in the early '80's.
  6. HMS Belfast?

Whoever built Belfast, it wasn't me. I have drawings, and have thought about building her (my last 'visit' was in 2008), but haven't had the time.
  7. Apology

Sounds real to me. It's posted on several forums at least. Stiglr was/is an asshole, but if he's going through stuff and feels a need to apologize................ don't beat up on a man who's down.
  8. If the guys working on the Bucc finish up, I'm more than willing to finish Hermes as she was as a fleet carrier.
  9. Good point. I'll hold off completion so Hermes can take advantage of any new features............. should there be new features with regard to carrier ops. Better than having to rebuild stuff.
  10. Oh, good. I'm glad there's some interest. I'd like to finish her, and the Bucc would be quite the bee's knees. Anyway, the the island and flight deck are pretty much done. The lower hull needs a lot of work. Note............... this'll be Hermes as she was as a 'fleet carrier'................. not her Falklands self. 'cos I like Scimitars, etc.
  11. HMS Eagle

    Version

    1,172 downloads

Eagle as built. Hopefully, I'll get around to an alternative deck texture for the Suez Crisis. Complaints................. you know where to send them. No guarantees. It's hard enough having to deal with the cat.
  12. As always, nice work Skippy!
  13. These days, with TW games, it's the number of large textures that's the performance killer, rather than a large number of polys (within reason.............90,000 for one model isn't going to help). I've had six large aircraft carriers happily wandering the virtual ocean with nary a stutter on my mid-fi rig. Of course, they weren't painted, but that's some 125,000 polys that the computer has to deal with.
  14. A very useful tool. Two thumbs up from me.
  15. Glamorgan

    Version

    1,871 downloads

HMS Glamorgan - a County Class destroyer, Antrim's sister and member of the Falklands Task Force. With working 4.5" guns, Seaslug SAM and 20mm AA.
  16. MosEngine

    Version

    337 downloads

Here's a raspy Merlin sound for the Mosquito, etc.
  17. No problems. The Daring is there to be used. I launched her thinking that the Suez Campaign from TW might be imminent. Apparently not. Anyway, the Pacific seems a fitting environment.
  18. If we're talking a 'what if' for 1946, the Daring Class destroyers would fit in very well (as they were designed with the Pacific in mind). I'd offer Vanguard (completed '46), but she ain't done yet.
  19. World's oldest man, WWI veteran dies

I remember my Great Uncle Ernie talking (crying) about going over the top at 3rd Ypres. Just the one time he talked about it. I wonder if Mr Allingham met King George VI, who also fought at Jutland and was at the founding of the RAF.
  20. Hermes is still a 'live' project......................... just that I haven't had any time.
  21. I've actually set up things to build a real Eagle............................ but she'll be a while.
  22. RN's Sorry State

My shot of that craptacular effort, 'Daring' (from last week). Not likely to scare anyone given her condition. Can't move, can't fire, can't fart. What's the betting. RN reduced to 5 ships by 2018.
