  1. Sadly no F-4s this year. I attended both days, and despite being less varied than recent years due to various cutbacks, it was still a great weekend.
  2. Are your video drivers up to date?
  3. I'm running SF2 on Win8 x64 and have had exactly the same experience. It seems to be fine 90%+ of the time.
  4. Upgrades and Such to CombatACE

No problem at all, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I'm an IT Professional IRL and have done a few platform migrations in my time, there's always more to learn from each one! The site definitely feels a little more "snappy" in use now too.
  5. Upgrades and Such to CombatACE

Sure. I was looking for Spanish Hornet Skins, searching for "Spanish" returned no results, but by browsing manually I could see many files that should match this pattern. However, I've just tried this again a few moments ago and it seems to be working fine now
  6. Upgrades and Such to CombatACE

Thanks for your hard work Erik :) Not a big thing, but I am having some problems using the search function in the download section. It does not appear to be returning results for entries that should match.
  7. Upgrades and Such to CombatACE

+1. I've renewed for another year.
  8. I've noticed this on some large aircraft before, and I believe it's to do with having the aircraft_role set to "bomber" (in the data.ini). The game treats bombers separately with regard to formations, and I guess therefore the comms menu as well. As there are no stock flyable bombers this does make some sense. I'm afraid I don't know of a solution other than not issuing wingman commands when flying bombers. I presume you could change the aircraft role, but you'd also need to alter the formation.ini due to the size of the B-1.
  9. Good stuff - glad you were able to get it sorted
  10. I'd suggest it's worth updating the drivers before trying anything else. It appears from your report above (DXDiag?) that you're running v8.15 of the Intel HD Graphics driver, it looks like v9.17 is the latest version.
  11. A friend of mine had similar problems using an Intel integrated GPU for SF2. The solution in his case was to set ForceDX9=TRUE in the options.ini. Although the Intel HD GPU should support DX10, it may not be able to cope with it in the SF2 series. Probably worth a try in addition to updating the drivers.
  12. Gunship 2000 had a boss key iirc. What a game that was too!
  13. When I first merged SF2:NA, I had to remove my modified FLIGHTENGINE.INI to stop this happening on the stock Iceland terrain. Might be worth a try.
  14. If you move the mods folder, you need to update the options.ini file in C:\Users\<Username>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 to tell the game it's moved. Note the last part of the path will depend on which exe you are using to launch the game. In the options.ini file, you need to change the following secion: [Mods] ModsEnabled=TRUE Directory=C:\Users\Dan\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 <---- Change this to match the full path of your new mods folder. Editors=StrikeFighters2 Ideally, change all paths in the options.ini to the relevant subfolders on your new drive, I beleve there are additional entries for the last loaded mission file and screenshots. Hope this helps.
  15. I've had the same problem since the launch of SF2NA. Parked A/c never appear on carriers in campaigns, but they do in single missions.
  16. You're not alone, I am seeing exactly the same problem in both modded and bone stock installs. As I posted in the main SF2NA thread, the really weird thing is that if you save a campaign generated mission, and then fly it as a single mission, the decks are populated
  17. Has anyone else had an issues with the carriers not being populated in campaign missions? I'm seeing this for all stock carriers (including Kiev) in every campaign, in both modded and stock NA installs -both merged with SF2, SF2E, SFSI and Exp1 & 2. Single missions are fine in all maps, and what's really interesting is that if I let the campaign generate a mission and save it for use as a single mission, the carrier's decks are then full.
  18. I can definitely recommend Adm Paul Gilchrist's book. I was given it as a gift in the late 90s and must have read it half a dozen times, and each time it is still exciting to read. If you can source it, the World Air Power Journal's F-14 Shipborne Super fighter is a superb reference book too.
  19. Version 1.0

    690 downloads

This is a mod/repaint of Hinchinbrooke's excellent HMS Vindictive, representing the Russian Navy's Admiral Kuznetzov. This mod is compatible with any and all versions of SF2, merged or otherwise. It should also work in any Series 1 title, but please note this has NOT been tested. Thanks to Hinchinbrooke, without who's mod this would not have been possible.
  20. Admiral Kuznetzov

It's in the SF1 downloads section, here is the link :Vindictive
  21. Admiral Kuznetzov

I've not tested with SF1, but there is no reason it shouldn't work.
  22. It's obviously not in the same league as the others in this thread , but you can always try my recently uploaded stand-in, which can be found here: Kuznetzov
