  1. Thank You MK2

    Thank you!
  2. lindr2, according to this thread (the 5th post), there were more regiments in Afghanistan than the listed above. Can you confirm this? I am also trying to recreate the historically correct markings and serial numbers of the units used there. I've collected most of the serials of the 120th and 168th, but didn't have much luck with the others. Can you help me with this?
  3. I've never seen Su-27 on real, but used to see MiG-29s quite often. The layout of the cockpit on your pic resembles more the layout of a Su-27 pit, than that of a MiG-29. Also note the center located IRST sensor. On MiG-29 the sensor is offset to the right side of the nose. I think this is the real MiG-29BM cockpit: source: http://www.freeweb.hu/superfighter/MASK%20...os/photo15.html It is closer to this: (MiG-29 cockpit)
  4. Looks more like Su-27 pit with a MFD to me...
  5. Great work! BTW there is a C-130 .lod in WOV:
  6. It looks like a mod of Paladrian's MiG-21MF pit...
  7. New York has their own Blue Thunder helicopter

    Big Brother is watching you...

  10. After watching the movie "9ta rota" ("9th company" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0417397/) I've came up with the idea of making a Soviet campaign about the Afghanistan confict in the 80's. BTW I strongly recommend this movie to every war movie fan. Here are some notable scenes from it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MwZCyAhjz8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3brfrtWXkk I don't think I could make it alone so anyone who wants is wellcome to join me in this project. I've already started some research and making new templates for MF's MiG-23MLD and skins for 120th IAP based at Bagram and Shindand in 1988 (the picture above). Currently we have almost all the aircraft needed for a good 80's Afghanistan scenario: Soviet VVS: ----------- MiG-23MLD MiG-23ML (?) MiG-27 MiG-29A (?) Su-17 Mi-24 Mi-8/17 An-12 (we are missing the Su-25 but we can live with this) DRAAF: ------- MiG-17 MiG-21MF Su-7 Su-20/22 Il-28 Mi-24 Mi-8/17 PAF: ---- F-16A (Bl 15) Mirage III/5 F-6 (MiG-19) IRIAF: ------ AH-1J Ground units: ------------- T-55 T-62 T-72 Pasko's Zil's A lot of Stinger armed fanatic mujahideen (Maybe we could use Kesselbrut's infantry pack with a proper repaint and a little .ini edit to give them Stingers) What we need most is an Afghanistan terrain, but I am sure that there are people who would be happy to help with this (Gepard, Brain32 ? )
  11. I'll try... I am making the node I want to remove, a part of the aircraft's damage model by setting DestroyedNodeName to its name. It will show only when the component it is assigned to ("hideTurret") is destroyed. But since the component can't be destroyed (cause it's a dummy component) the node will never show. You can set ModelNodeName= to anything unless it's an existing node name. This method should work with any model, not only the Hind. What method are you using? Setting the part as a pylon?
  12. Yes, it is 17. Ive posted the pic just to illustrate where the radar on MiG-19P/PM is.
  13. It's not a radar scope. It must be bigger and located on right of the gunsight, just like the radar on this MiG-17PF: The manual I have is for the basic, radarless model. I really have no idea what is that instrument and the manual doesn't say anything about it. Maybe it is a ventilation hole? I haven't seen it on any other MiG-19 cockpit IIRC. This site may be helpful: http://www.sanko.wroclaw.pl/apt/mig-19/konstrukcja.html but it is in Polish

  15. Women in uniform...

... Women in uniform, sometimes they look so cold Women in uniform, but, Oh! They feel so warm ... *Iron Maiden - Women In Uniform The rules are simple: 1 picture per person per day. Pictures should not violate the forum rules.
  16. Found a way: [AircraftData] ... Component[011]=hideTurret ... [hideTurret] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=Turret_ok DestroyedNodeName=Turret DetachWhenDestroyed=TRUE HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE
  17. We can add the IR suppresion boxes and the gun as a new weapon or pilot, I think. Is there a way to "hide" the 12.7mm machine gun via the data.ini?

  19. Well, it's not hard to get used to either western or russian ADI design - they all seem equally intuitive to me. The real problem is when you have to convert from one ADI type to another. I know some guys who had to convert from MiG-17 to MiG-23BN... (MiG-23BN like Su-27 uses the new ADI type with fixed horizon and movable aircraft symbol)
  20. The Blinders were used in Afghanistan
  21. Some of the MiG-15bis and UTI had AGI-1, but I am not sure if this was done in the factory or were refitted later. I think that Lim-2 (Polish version of MiG-15bis) had AGI-1 too.
  22. The ADI is inverted. Today I got it confirmed by a former MiG-17 pilot to be sure. The ball always stays level with the horizon, so when you pitch up, you see more of its bottom (blue) and when you pitch down more of the top (brown) side is revealed. You should be able to replicate this with the .ini lines I've posted before. The strange thing is that modern russian ADI design is completely different. Here is a better pic of AGI-1(АГИ-1) ADI used on MiG-17 and some of the late MiG-15s. BTW there is a mirror in MiG-15UTI cockpit: MiG-17 didn't have mirrors but had a periscope. Here are some pictures you may find useful (MiG-17PF): RP-1 "Izumrud" scope: the cockpit: I can post more pictures of this particular aircraft and if there is interest the next weekend I can make some better pics of it.
