F-35A Cruise Speed
doc serizawa posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I've installed the latest version of the F-35A in SF2 merged all of the way to Exp. pack 2, although I've had this problem before that. For some reason, the F-35A only cruises around at 185 kts. This goes for both autopilot when I'm flying it and for AI only groups. The F-35B and C version cruise around at normal speeds. I've tried copying the [Flight Control] section form the B or C over to the A, but it didn't help. Anybody else have this problem? Anybody know how to fix it? -
A-12 from check six skin problem
doc serizawa replied to Streakfalcon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
You need to make a copy of the file "gauche.bmp" and rename it "droite.bmp." That should fix the problem. It's mentioned in the read me, but the read me is in French, so it's pretty easy to miss. -

SUU-23 with the new WOI patch
doc serizawa replied to Phantom160's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I've updated my Directx and I'm still getting freezes. For hardware I've got a NVidia GeForce Go 7400 and a Conexant HD sound card. -
SUU-23 with the new WOI patch
doc serizawa replied to Phantom160's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
My newly patched WOI has been locking up whenever I've been firing a gunpod, too. Internal guns work fine. To make things weirder, I've got the new MF weapons pack installed. I've tried looking through my effects folder to fix this, but I seem to be too stupid to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. -

WEAPONDATA is crashing game

You definately used the Latest Weps editor that was released just after WOI? Yes. Definately. Even if I hadn't, judging by the experiences that other people have reported on the board, the game would run just fine, I just wouldn't have any weapons available at the loadout screens. I don't even get that far- I get a window saying "Wings over Israel has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience."(Or something like that. You know the window.) Does the game run if you move Weapondata.dat out of the folder? Yes. If I delete them or sub in other versions, WOI starts up just fine. The only Weapondata.dat and Weapondata.ini that doesn't work is the one I tried to organize. Do you have any other Weapondata.dat files in other subfolders in Objects? No. A search says that the only Weapondata.dat/.ini files in the whole Object folder tree are the ones causing the troubles. I do have backups of Weapondata.dat/.ini in Objects, but they are all renamed, so they shouldn't be an issue. They've also been sitting in there since I started modding this game, and have not caused any problems. -
WEAPONDATA is crashing game

Nope. I did that a long time ago. My Weapons Editor runs just fine. I've messed around with my WEAPONDATA.ini with the Weapons Editor plenty of times and have never had any problems (besides that it is completely out of order). My problem, now, is that after working on it so that there is some sort of order to it, WOI crashes as soon as I try to run it. -
WEAPONDATA is crashing game
doc serizawa posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yesterday, I decided to sit down and sort out the giant mess that is my WEAPONDATA. I deleted a bunch of duplicates and stuff I didn't need, and was about half-way through reorganizing it so that I could actually find stuff. I dropped it into WOI, and now the game crashes on start-up. Ugh. Was it something that I did? I used the WOI weapons editor, and I didn't do anything besides using the moveup/movedown buttons, delete and save. I never touched anything with the text editor. After the crash, I looked at it in notepad, and nothing looks out of whack. The only thing that I can think of is that I need to open and close all the weapons now that I moved them, but I thought that was only so that could be used in game, not to keep the whole game from crashing. Has this happened to anybody else? Is this a known issue I just don't know about? Any ideas about what to do? And yes, I did back it up before I started. I still have a good WEAPONSDATA, its just the same mess its always been. -
Missing cockpit textures in WOI
doc serizawa replied to doc serizawa's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Thanks for the responses. I could have sworn I was searching for .bmps in the hex editor and coming up with nothing... I guess I could learn to type one of these days. I read about Saar and Sambad already- I was wondering if there were any particular guages or dials from the earlier sims that that pit makers like to use. Like 'if there's a a big white circle in the pit, it's probably one of these three files.' A list of these 'usual suspects' could be kept. Seeing as the hex editor works and isn't that complicated, it's not needed. As for the cat files, I figured it was a big no, but I just wanted to make sure. -
Missing cockpit textures in WOI
doc serizawa posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I've been moving a lot of my planes from WOE/WOV over to WOI, and for the most part it is going OK. My main problem are the missing textures in the cockpit. I know that the textures are missing because they are from planes that aren't in WOI. Seeing as TK isn't likely to add a merging feature for WOI, I'm asking for some help in getting them fixed. I've dug around the forums and have gotten some hints, but I'm afraid I'm still having problems. I've extracted a bunch of the textures from the WOE object.cat and have placed them into the cockpit folders, but I always seem to miss a few, and I'm betting a lot of the ones I do copy aren't needed in the first place. Is there a list of 'usual suspects' that I can just copy over that should cover everything? Alternatively, I've read that I can use a HEX editor to find the missing textures. Well, my HEX editing skills are pretty weak. I've opened up some xxx_cockpit.lod, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. (Am I even looking at the right file?) Can somebody come up with a tutorial to give me a hand here? Finally, is there some way to get WOI to look in at other .cat files, so I can avoid doing any of the above work? (Or so that you guys can avoid doing the work for me, really...) I'm going to thank you all in advance for even reading this. I may be asking a awfully lot here. -
Any interest?

If you release the mod, somebody is going to have give it the right paintjob. -

There is a "AS-20" in the loadout file for this. I can't find it in the weapons pack. Can anyone help me with this? I've looked around but can't find it. I apologize if it's something blatantly obvious that I just overlooked.
