Hey guys thanks a lot for helping us out with your characters... We are introducing another grease monkey. David "Ratchet" Sevour Age: 15 Background Ratchet is a Dhimari-American teenager who was born in the United States but grew up in Dhimar after his american father joined the Dhimarian Air Force as a civilian consultant. His mother is Dhimarian but she flew to the U.S.A. when the conflict escalated. Ratchet was always keen on aircraft design and maintenance since he was 10. During the first air strikes, Ratchet was at home when his father phone to meet him at the airport. Ratchet grabbed a few things, stuffed it in his backpack and headed to the airport. Upon arriving, he saw the airport totally destroyed. Thinking his father would eventually meet up with him, Ratchet waited until the next morning only to find that the city was about to be overrun by Paran forces. He then reluctantly boards an evac chopper bound for the merc airbase. Once there, Ratchet hung around, hoping his father would arrive on another evac. While waiting, Ratchet tries to help out with repairs and overhauls on newly arrived merc aircraft until ground crew realize his talents. Currently (in the series) he has established himself as an authority on aircraft maintenance drawing from his father's knowledge and all those days spent reading schematics, manuals, and repair books...

Its the government the mercs are working for... Dhimar

Ok, im trying this... He is gonna be a merc, he is another "lone wolf" who prefers to fly alone... He is the best sniper, in fact he is a freelance assassin working for the Dhimarian Government. When his contract expired, he figured he could do more in the air than on the ground... Wat you think?

***STORY AND CHARACTER UPDATE*** Check out the initial bios in the first page of this topic stream...n Guys, the setting of the animation is late 70's... So please bear with that... The reason why we set the story in this time frame is because the age of pure kick-ass, no BS, dogfighting was still on... You wanted to kill the bad guy, you had to close with to visual range for a good shot. Not much emphasis BVR stuff... So adjust the character's bios if ya got em... We planned that if this is successful, we may go on as far as Season 2, THEN we can have modern air craft... Capiche? Pilots Vince "Jet" Matthews (Hero) :yes: Stays totally neutral emotionally, like he never gets excited or scared, although he has a good sence of humor. Bernard "Ace" McDonald (Wingman) Then have his best friend be this really aloof guy who is always forgetting things and getting girls. He is the "Comedic Relief" guy who is usually oblivious to other people's feelings always talks really loud and says stupid things. James "Bear" Solis (Survivor) Bomber pilot, always has a good joke up his sleeve. British!!! Rei "Dragon" Yamada (Lone Wolf) Emo. Girlfriend was killed in Parani air strike while she was working Red Cross. Sasha Dragunov's gonna have to be born in the 60's or late 50's to be a part of the series... I think Sasha's character is a defector pissed off at communism... In regards to Dave's character, gimme a bio for him... I see him as the guy that no matter what happens, is always relaxed and casual... KEEP THE IDEAS COMING!!! MORE DETAILS, SUGGESTIONS, AND COMMENTS ARE APPRECIATED!!! THANK YOU KICK-Ass this 2009!!!

We decided that in the first few episodes, the mercs would sport civie attire before donning their flight suits... Hope you guys are ok with that!!!

***UPDATE*** Need an opinion What's better? Mercs wear civilian or flight suits? If civilian, the characters will wear jeans, jacket, shirts, boots or sneakers... Helmets are not necessary...

Hey thanks for your concern... In the first few episodes, the guys'll be flying A-1s, S-2s, and B-26s. Because of logistics, newer and better planes will eventually be available to the mercs. As for personalization, the squadron insignia is an edited version of the Playboy bunny... And we shall try to make personalized paint jobs such that it will be easy to see who is who... We are trying to give you a realistic and logistically feasible feeling of what it's like to be limited... Thanks for the feedback

Main Characters: Mercs Vince "Jet" Matthews Age: 23 Background: Father served in the Korean conflict, graduate of USC '69. Not a supporter of the Vietnam conflict, Vince is intrigued by the escalation in Dhimar and in 1971 upon completion of civilian flight training, leaves home to fly as a Dhimarian Merc Pilot. A cool headed operator, Vince rises through the ranks quickly to become one of the best pilots of the mercs... Bernard "Ace" McDonald Age: 23 Vince's friend and wingman, they met up in flight school. Bernard is actually the reason why Vince joins the mercs. "Ace" is hot-tempered, rule breaking, and comedic and has Vince's back. Pilots of the "Raving Rabbits" James "Bear" Solis Age: 22 James comes from a prominent family. His a big, tall man and usually tackles deep strike bombing type missions. Hey guys , prepare for a a great treat this 2009... We are currently working on a graphic novel or also known as an manga visual novel... Anyways the project is called: "The Strike Fighters" The series will be a mix of anime and game graphics... The story will not be canon to the SFP:1 timeline and story... Story and Hardware Set in the 1970s, the story covers the first weeks of the oil war between Paran and Dhimar. It will follow a squadron of merc pilots hired by the Dhimarian government, who are hastily building up their air force for the conflict. The mercs will be flying older aircraft like the A-1 Skyraider and the S-2 Tracker. Mostly commited for air-to-ground support missions, the mercs will tangle with Mig-17s and Mig-19s... Eventually the mercs will obtain A-4 Skyhawks and F-4 Phantoms... Meanwhile, the Dhimarian air force will fly with F-105s, F-104s and F-101s at the beginning in the series but will eventually upgrade to F-5 Tigers. The DAF focuses more on the air-to-air aspect of the war and are charged with CAP and Escort missions... The Paran Air Force consists of large numbers Mig-17s, three squadrons of Mig-19s and a squadron of Mig-21s (The Elites). The Paran initially commit air units for terror strikes on cities and air support for ground forces, until eventually being tasked with hunting down Dhimarian Mercenery Air Units and protecting Paran territories from air attack. Synopsis for the first few episodes The Series will begin with the Paran air offensive on port cities of Dhimar. At this time, Paran forces strike the borders as tanks pour into Dhimar. The Dhimarian Government declares a state of emergency and starts asking U.S. for help. Meanwhile, the first groups of mercs arrive at Special Operations Air Base 1 who are suprised that they'll be flying vintage Skyraiders and S-2 Trackers... Production kicks off in two weeks... Ok I never played the campaign... Planning to make a few videos based on the original "Strike Fighters" sim.. Can anyone tell me any details in the fictional war of Dhimar? i had checked wikipedia but can people offer me some more stuff about the conflict... or your experiences in the campaigns? I'd also appreciate to know when the war ended in the Dhimar conflict... thanks!!!

Hey can you use Explosion Effects 2 or 3 for these?

in regards to AOCBravo's weps pack... Hey uh... does this pack lack effects? I've been dropping nukes with no flash or explosion, ive fired sparrows and shrikes with no flame or smoke trails... Some bombs have no explosion effects.. Some weps just dont act ryt... I've also been having truble spotting sams as they launch... Whats up with that? Thnks I've tried using stock and Explosion Effects 2 and 3... Oh by the way... im starting my sim from scratch as i want only one weps pack installed...
