Hello Peter01, I was somewhat dissapointed with the results of the EP patch. Now with your mega-effort I've deleted everything and will start anew. Thank you very much for your tremendous efforts. Regards, Tooner BTW: I cant find Bortdafarm's Martinsyde S1 in the dowmload section.

Hello Peter01, I think the combination patch + FM's is a step back. I'm considering running 2 different installs on my pc. Regards, Tooner
  3. First Eagles Patch is Out

Hello Peter01, I'm looking for your hardest, toughest, let's do the popcorn AircraftObject.ini. Is that the AircraftObject_Hard you presented with the 1917-18 FM's Update ( March 2008)? Thanks for your time and trouble. Regards, Tooner

Hello Tailspin, I've all my game settings on Hard, use Peter01's Hard AircraftOject.ini and reduced ammo weight gundata file. In a single mission I shot down 6 out of 8 Camels (130) with a Siemens-Schuckert D.III, and the Camels weren't 'sitting ducks', on the contrary it took all my flying and shooting skills to get it done ! When I finished, there was a sense of accomplishment : that was cool. My point being: although I've read a library of books about WW1 airwarfare and I agree that ace-pilots were the exception and FE is a flight-sim; for me the fun of dogfighting isn't shooting down easy or average adversaries. No offense intended but just a different point of view, for me FE is hard dogfighting, the level of reality ( or history ) is of a minor priority. Regards, Tooner

Hello Peter01, I've read your post on the Thirdwire forums ( and TK's reply ). Flying the DVIIF and DVIII a lot, I agree there's some loss of 'snappiness' overall and in vertical manoeuvring in particular, also fast thight banking turns seem a little step back. I liked the 'feel' of the aircraft better before the patch. BTW: has the patch affected AI performance ( skill/ agressiveness )? Regards, Tooner
  6. Hello sockboy, It seems I'll have to experiment somewhat with the game settings. Thanks for the advice ! Regards, Tooner
  7. Hello Peter01 and Gr.Viper, I appreciate you coming to my rescue but I found the problem. My system is dated so I have to set the Graphics Detail Level to Low to run the game without problems. I just turned the Graphics Detail Level to High and the struts were in place. Thanks anyway for your effort. Regards, Tooner
  8. Hello gentlemen, When flying the Fokker DVIII in cockpitview all is well, fuselage- and wingstruts are in place. When using the Shoulderview ( F5) or the Objectview, next aircraft ( F6) no struts are visible and the wing just floats above the fuselage. Regards, Tooner
  9. Hello gentlemen, Thanks for your help ! Somewhere in my diluted brain the name Peter01 came up, and indeed it was his add-on file . Regards, Tooner
  10. Hello gentlemen, As you all know I'm no rocket-scientist, nor brain-surgeon. In my enthousiasm I downloaded the new patch, put it over my gameinstall and gave it a try. It started with a CTD and after restart it worked but all my add-on stuff was gone. I should have done some reading beforehand....... Now I've been reinstalling and everything is fine but I can't find a thread on this forum concerning the decrease of ammo impact. It's purpose was to make the gunnery somewhat less arcadic; when you shoot you need more ammo to down an aircraft ( the hits have less impact ), and on the other side, when you get shot the damage is less. I thought the world of this topic but I can't find it. It was hidden in another thread ( in an ongoing discussion ) which had a different subject originally. I hope somebody remembers and helps me out. Regards, Tooner

Hello Peter01, The Pup-Snipe-Tripe update is magnificent, they fly like a dream ! The Albatros D.2 in the 1916-17 FM is also very good. With your FM's First Eagles is finally really 3 dimensionally; the aircraft turn, roll and zoom. No more weird spinbehaviour ( going sideways !! ) and that nasty moment of inertia is now a nightmare of the past. Flight-characteristics have become fluently. Thanks for your excellent work. Regards, Tooner
  12. The Upcoming Patch(es)

Hello Tailspin, Thanks for the info ! Regards, Tooner
  13. The Upcoming Patch(es)

Hello gentlemen, Will there be an Expansion Pack 2 in the future ? Regards, Tooner

Peter01 my main man !!, Thank you! Here in Bergen op Zoom your FM's are the stuff of legends. Got to try the Albatros DVa and finally it's climbing, roling, turning and snappy ( beautiful rudder control ). At last I've a sporting chance against those b....y Camels ! I'm just gonna fly Albatroses for the rest of my days. Regards, Tooner
  15. Updated FMs

Hello Peter01, Rest assured, we are erecting a statue for you in the Netherlands! Thank you, thank you, thank you. The Albatros family are my favorite WW1 planes and although enjoying FE very much I was somewhat dissapointed about the Albatroses. I thought they were underpowered, didn't turn, didn't (half) roll, didn't snap, in short; they weren't competitive. Fiddling with their data.ini's didn't bring the results I wanted, I couldn't get them right. Now this is remedied by your excellent altenative Albatros FM's. Risking to repeat myself, thank you, thank you. Regards, Tooner
