  1. The first plane I flew was the IL-28 so nothing new or fancy. I tend to fly the older planes most of the time anyway. Yeah, I believe they are networked like Wrench said but I'll go back and check. Another thing I noticed was that they sometimes would launch against low flying planes that seemed to be within their minimum launch distance but I could be wrong. The enemy planes looked awfully close to the launchers. One other question I have is where is the Nike skin located? I thought about changing it to look more like the real thing since the original in the game is white with a red booster. I looked all over the place but couldn't locate it. I'll go back and check everything out. Thanks again. Mike
  2. Hello again gentlemen, I recently downloaded the California terrain which includes the Nike bases. My problem is that the Nikes launch but make no attempt to track a target. They just go straight up into the air. When I first got the terrain I changed the angle of the missles to their real life nearly vertical launch position. I don't think that would cause a problem since the missles failed the very first time they were used from the SA-2 laucher's stock allowable angles. The missle should launch and turn in the direction of the target. I monkeyed with the seeker head angles and what not but still no kill with a Nike. I looked thru this forum and found no post dealing with this problem so if I missed it I'm sorry but I would appreciate it if any of you guys might have any ideas. I have WOE patched and the weapons pack. Nothing fancy. Thanks in advance. Mike
  3. I don't know if your describing the problem I had but it sounds pretty similar. My f-86 wingmen would contantly bounce up and down once they settled into formation with me. Even my own plane did the same under autoplilot. I "solved" my problem by increasing the pitch damper setting in the F-86_data.ini file. My plane flew smoothly afterwards and my wingmens' bounce was reduced to a very slight more "realistic" up and down motion. The MiG-25 did the same thing and I fixed it the same way I haven't tried the F-22 yet. I will though and see what happens. Hope this helps. Mike
  4. I'll try out Nick Bell's update and see how it works out. When I saw the Hawks launch for the first time on the red range I was watching my flight of Badgers from the free camera view at the target area. I was hoping for a nice flyby but during the turn my right wing man slammed into my plane and sent us both into the ground ( Another problem, the bomber pilots do seem rather ham fisted in the game). At the same moment I hear "Sam launch!" and see the missile streak past me. "What the hell?" I thought. The hawks did seem rather lacking in accuracy. The first took off in a direction away from the last plane. The later missles were slightly better. I was thinking that if I ever did them to work they sure wouldn't be much of threat. So I'm glad to hear that the update makes them more dangerous. I fly the russian planes quite a bit and do miss the sam threat. Thanks again Mike
  5. Thanks for the direction with the pylon problem. Now if I can just figure out the hawk missle situation. Thanks again. Mike
  6. Hello again gentlemen, I've really been enjoying the hell out of WOE for the last three months. All the work that everyone has done has really made it great. However I have a few more questions. Is there a final solution for getting the hawk missles to work right? I've tried the fixes that I've found here but during a standard mission mine just blow up on launch as always. The weird thing is that today while testing out some planes on the red range the hawks in the target area successfully launched on my planes. I guess the hawks got somehow automatically added to the range after I put them in the game. The question now is: Why do the work on the range and not on a regular map? My next question deals with how certain planes fly in formation. Why do planes like the F86 and Mig-25 continually bob up and down? My plane will even do it while on autopilot. What causes it and is there a fix? My last question is about missing pylons. I have the Chinese F-5 & J-6 and the Cuban Mig-17. The J-6 works great but the outer wing pylons on the F-5 and Mig-17 are invisible. The missle just float under the wings. What would the fix for this be? I'd be thankful for any help you all could give. Mike
  7. Yeah, it was not using the Guneditor that was causing the problem. I ended up using the original cannon sound modified by the sound recorder to get a decent thud for the 37mm. I changed the 30mm for the Mig19 and 50cal too. Sounds much better now. I have another question. On all my Mig 15-17s I have 23mm as primary gun and the 37mm as secondary. Some planes come that way like the Yak 9. The problem is that the AI can't seem to find the trigger for the secondary gun. I have the UberAI file which has lines dealing with the secondary gun control but the AI never uses it. I haven't yet found a post here referring to this situation and I was hoping that someone might have an answer. Mike
  8. Thanks for the responses everyone. I'll check my sound again to see if it is compatible. Yeah, I missed the Guneditor step so that's probably the problen right there. I'll mess with it some more tonight and see what happens. Mike
  9. Hello Gentlemen, I bought WOE a couple of weeks ago and I have been enjoying it a lot I've been here and other places downloading all the extra stuff. Really love the game but there was one thing I wanted to change. It would seem to that there should be quite a big difference in the sounds of the 23mm and the 37mm guns on the Mig 15-17. I have my own 37mm sound from another game and have tried to substitute it but I still get the original cannon sound for that gun. I have added it to the Soundlist.ini, put it in the Sounds folder and have changed the sound for the 37mm guns in the Gundata.ini file. There must be something else I'm missing. I would really appreciate if some could point me in the right direction. MIke
