  6. Remember I'm the guy that did seven B-66 and thirteen Sea Hawk varients. No worries on the K getting done...
  7. Update 1 is now posted. My site has gone Tango Uniform so the best place to get it is here. 8. No luck. The F-18 download only includes the skin, not the model. Anybody have the model handy?
  9. Good catch. I'll see if I can dig it up and get it in there...
  10. Its not a bad idea but with the way the files are set up a seperate pack for different eras is not really necessary. When the date in the sim is set to the WWII era only the weapons available on those dates are visible. There might be a couple of exceptions but there would really be no difference in what you would see with a dedicated WWII weapons pack. It there is ever an executable WWII add-on including everything like you suggest a smaller pack with only the necessary weapons might be a good idea to keep the download size down. I guess we'll address that if it comes up...
  11. Man, that texture on the Mk-82 is perfect! I'm marking that down on my "to steal" list. :)
  12. Here are the last two Fleet Air Arm versions of the Sea Hawk. The Indian Navy FGA.6 will be ready as soon as I can get a skin together. There is a little more 3D work to go into the Dutch Mk.50 and German Mk 100/101 but that shouldn't take long. To install unzip the contents to your "objects/aircraft" folder. Sea Hawk FGA.4 Sea Hawk FGA.6 Templetes are available here: Sea Hawk Templates These will work for all varients except the Mk100 and Mk101. I'll release some for those when I do more work on them. You can find more info on this aircraft here: Thunder and Lightnings Sea Hawk FGA.4: Sea Hawk FGA.6:
  13. The Sea Hawk FB.3 is now available. This is the first of the ground attack versions. It can carry combinations of drop tanks, bombs, and rockets on the wing pylons although light loads were prefered due to poor performance. The new tanks and weapons will be available with the next weapons pack due out shortly. To install unzip the contents to your "objects/aircraft" folder. Sea Hawk FB.3 Templetes are available here: Sea Hawk Templates These will work for all varients except the Mk100 and Mk101. I'll release some for those when I do more work on them. You can find more info on this aircraft here: Thunder and Lightnings
  14. The Sea Hawk F.2 is now available. This is a very similar aircraft externally to the late F.1. The only change I made was increasing the max control speed for the ailerons to reflect the hydraulic boost that was added. A little more 3d model work will be needed for the next few varients. There is a small intake I would like to add and the tanks, bombs, and rockets still need to be finished. To install unzip the contents to your "objects/aircraft" folder. Sea Hawk F.2 Templetes are available here: Sea Hawk Templates These will work for all varients except the Mk100 and Mk101. I'll release some for those when I do more work on them. You can find more info on this aircraft here: Thunder and Lightnings
  15. The other F.1 varient of the Sea Hawk is now available. This represents the later version of the Sea Hawk F.1 with the tail fairing, brass chutes, and ram air intake on the nose. The markings are for 898 squadron. To install unzip the contents to your "objects/aircraft" folder. Sea Hawk F.1 (late) Templetes are available here: Sea Hawk Templates These will work for all varients except the Mk100 and Mk101. I'll release some for those when I do more work on them. You can find more info on this aircraft here: Thunder and Lightnings
  16. This is the first of several Sea Hawk varients I'll be releasing over the next few weeks. This varient represents an aircraft from the first batch of 35 Sea Hawk F.1s. It differs from later versions in that the tail fairing, expended brass chutes, and ram air intake on the nose are not present. There were several other minor differences that don't show up on the model and were of minimal consequence. Armament consists of four 20mm Hispanos. Simple and to the point... Later varients could carry bombs and rockets so there is fun for us mud movers too. I haven't found any definite references for early F.1 skins so I made a generic skin based on a photo at the Thunder and Lightnings site. To install unzip the contents to your "objects/aircraft" folder. Sea Hawk F.1 (early) Templetes are available here: Sea Hawk Templates These will work for all varients except the Mk100 and Mk101. I'll release some for those when I do more work on them. You can fing more info on this aircraft here: Thunder and Lightnings With any luck the F.1 late version and F.2 will be ready in the next couple days.
  17. You can download the latest pack here: http://max-gs.com/adave/weaponsdev/files/s...ack_01feb04.zip http://bunyap462.com/resources/sfp1weaponspack_01feb04.zip This pack was designed to use the flare effect by 331KillerBee and the white phosphorus effect by Zieher. You can download those here: http://bunyap462.com/resources/FlareEffect.zip http://bunyap462.com/resources/WPEffect.zip The Weapons Pack is now compatable with the SFP1 Mod Manager! Save the .zips to your LoMan/addons_sfp1 folder and install using SFP1Man. If you would rather install them manually, unzip the contents of the .zip to your "weapons" folder and move the gundata.dat file to the "objects" folder. The enhancements and improvements to the realism of these weapons are too numerous to mention here. Thanks go out to 331KillerBee, Lawn-Dart, Tomcat, Armourdave, Crab 02 and WPNSSSGT for making this happen. If you've done a weapon or gun and want it included in this file please let me know. You can either post a link here or send it to bunyap@tularosa.net. Keep in mind this is a very prelimenary version of the pack. Some of the weapons might not work correctly and some of the available loadout options won't be realistic. If you see anything that needs to be fixed let me know and I'll try to correct it ASAP. Enjoy!
  19. To save myself some typing: http://oldsite.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimateb...c&f=55&t=005994 Sorry about missing this forum the first time around... Good luck!
  20. The BQM-34 drone made by RussoUK2002 is now up and ready for download. You can get the file here: http://bunyap462.com/aircraft/BQM-34_Drone.zip Here's how you install it: 1. After unzipping the contents of BQM-34 Drone.zip, copy the "BQM-34 Drone" directory into your "Strike Fighters/Objects/Aircraft" directory. 2. Copy the file named "Drone Intercept" into your "Strike Fighters/Missions" directory. The "drone intercept" mission is a single mission with a BQM-34 orbiting the target range for you to shoot down. I know it isn't perfect so I'll leave it to the rest of you to create some good missions to go along with the drone. If the above link doesn't work for any reason you can also download it at Biohaz. The BQM-34_data.ini included is a quick modification of the MiG-17's to line up the exhaust, make the moving parts move, and keep it from fighting back. If anybody wants a crack at improving on this have at it. All the real work was done by RussoUK2002. Be sure to post here and thank him for the quick yet extremely high quality job he did on this drone![/img]
  21. I just finished this one up. It's from the 79th TFS. You can get it here: http://bunyap462.com Enjoy!
  22. Wild Elmo (I think) posted this at simhq a few months ago. You have to know some hard core aerodynamics to make sense of it but it's better than nothing. OK, here is a list of the various aerodynamic coefficients (the 3 or 4 letter variables that start w/ the capital C) that are used in the flight model data files. I've also listed a couple of other variables for the hell of it (Xac and DeltaStallAlpha), but I'm going to limit this discussion primarily to the aerodynamic coefficients since this is how the model generates all of the forces and moments on the airplane. CL0 Lift coefficient at zero angle of attack (AOA) CLa Lift coefficient due to AOA CD0 Zero-lift drag coefficient CDL Drag coefficient due to lift (induced drag effect) Cmq Pitching moment due to pitch rate (pitch damping) Cmad Pitching moment due to AOA rate (aero interaction between wings and horiz tail) Cyb Side force due to sideslip Cyp Side force due to roll rate Cyr Side force due to yaw rate Clb Roll moment due to sideslip Clp Roll moment due to roll rate (roll damping) Clr Roll moment due to yaw rate Cnb Yaw moment due to sideslip Cnp Yaw moment due to roll rate Cnr Yaw moment due to yaw rate (yaw damping) CLiftdc Lift due to control surface deflection CDdc Drag due to control surface deflection Cydc Side force due to control surface deflection Cldc Roll moment due to control surface deflection Cmdc Pitch moment due to control surface deflection Cndc Yaw moment due to control surface deflection DeltaStallAlpha Increase in max angle-of-attack before stall Xac X-location of aerodynamic center First thing to realize is that the coefficients are normalized by various dimensions of the aircraft, so they don't represent the absolute value of the force or moment. So for example, for Cnp, the actual yaw moment due to roll rate is found by mulitplying the coefficient by: (Dynamic pressure * wing area * span^2) / (2*Velocity) There is actually a very good reason for this, but I'm not going to go into it. The important thing to understand is what force or moment is being generated by what. Second thing to understand from a formatting standpoint, is that TK lists the coefficients first by their 'base' values. Then he lists how the values will vary with either Mach # or angle-of-attack. So for example, this is extracted from the data file for the F-4E in the section describing the left outer wing (I've snipped out portions): [LeftOuterWing] . . . CL0=0.0248 CLa=0.6532 CD0=0.0008 CDL=0.0037 Cmq=-0.2457 Cmad=-0.2229 Clb=0.0137 Clp=-0.0335 Clr=0.0296 Cnb=0.0424 Cnp=0.0011 Cnr=-0.0019 . . . Shown above are the 'base' values that I described earlier. Following these are variation with Ma # and angle of attack tables. Here's a typical table (for the F-4E left outer wing again): . . . CL0MachTableNumData=7 CL0MachTableDeltaX=0.40 CL0MachTableStartX=0.00 CL0MachTableData=0.976,1.000,1.087,1.212,0.858,0.692,0.577 . . . The first row (CL0MachTableNumData) shows how many Ma # values the table varies over. The second row indicates the delta in Ma # between data points. The third row indicates the starting Ma # in the table. The fourth row indicates the MULTIPLIER of the base CL0 value. So for example at M=0 (starting takeoff for example), the multiplier of 0.976 is used with the base value of 0.0248 (I'll let you multiply it out). The same idea applies for the tables that vary with Alpha (angle-of-attack). Finally, listed below is the right outer slat section for the F-4E and I'll go over these items in detail (use the same basic idea for flaps, etc) [RightOuterSlat] SystemType=HIGHLIFT_DEVICE CLiftdc=-0.0443 DeltaStallAlpha=6.00 AreaRatio=1.02 DeploymentMethod=AUTOMATIC_ANGLE_OF_ATTACK Setting[1].Angle=30.0 Setting[1].DeployValue=13.8 Setting[1].RetractValue=8.7 MaxDeflection=30.0 MinDeflection=0.0 CLiftdc is the lift coefficient due to slat deployment (the value of -0.0443 seems questionable BTW). DeltaStallAlpha is the change in maximum alpha before stall due to slat deployment (6 degrees in this case). AreaRatio is the increase in wing area due to slat deployment. DeploymentMethod indicates that the slats deploy automatically based upon the angle of attack. Setting[1].Angle indicates that when deployed the slats are at 30 degree deflection. Setting[1].DeployValue indicates that at 13.8 degrees the slats automatically deploy. Setting[2].RetractValue indicates that at 8.7 degrees the slats automatically retract. Max and min are self-explanatory
  23. I read a story about this happening in real life somewhere. If I remember correctly it was when the Iraqis were giving the Kurds all that trouble with helicopters right after Desert Storm. A flight of F-15C's was patrolling the Northern No-Fly Zone and locked on to what they thought were helocopters flying low and slow. One of the aircraft fired a Sparrow and got a good hit. The only problem was that the "helicopter" was actually a car driving along a road. Anybody else remember this? Granted, it's still a bug but it is theoreticly possible for a sparrow to hit a target on the ground... If the firing aircraft has a good enough radar, that is.
  24. You can download it right here. Its based on the original Burning Sands campaign that came with the game. It's set in 1963 after a long cease fire between Dmimar and Paran. It becomes clear that the Paranis, rearmed by the Soviets, are preparing to make another attempt at conquering Dhimar. The Dhimaris, with advice from their American advisors, prepare to counter this new aggression. U.S. aircraft are in place and the Dhimaris decide now is the time to strike. Flyable aircraft include: - F-100D (2 squadrons with new skins) - F-4B (with modified loadout) - A-1H (with modified loadout) - B-57B (uses the F-100 cockpit. I'll work on this one a bit later on) - A-4B - F-104G You will have the option of choosing between two possible enemy air defense systems. One with lots of SAM's, particularly near the coast, and another with SAM's only present at the Parani capital. Missions will be flown every 1-2 days. I know I said before there would be more skins included but that will have to wait. The more proficient I get at skinning the pickier I get and the longer it takes me to finish them. Keep in mind that I'm the only one who has tested the campaign so there are bound to be problems. Let me know what they are and I'll fix them ASAP. I approached this project as a way to gain experience before the more realistic theaters show up so any feedback at all will help. Let me know what you think aboabout it and what I can do to improve it. [/img]
  25. I've posted a preview of a campaign I'm working on at simhq. Let me know what you think.. http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bb...TML/004115.html
