  1. Nieuport 17 of Navy school of aerial fighting, Bolshevik Forces, Russian Civil War, 1919-20

Probably this aircraft was served in one of Navy school of aerial fighting in Oranienbaum (near Petrograd).

  3. Sopwith Camel of No.112 Squadron, RFC, Throwley, Kent, August 1918.

For the updated First Eagles stock Camel 150 only.

The presence of a swastika on the tailfin should not be considered as significant; this is from 1918.

  4. Sopwith Camel of No.139 Squadron, RFC, Italy, September 1918

Based on B6313 flown by Major William Barker.

I have left the stock identification letter working, although the original aircraft did not carry an
    individual letter.

  5. HAWKER HUNTER GA.11, Fleet Requirements and Air Direction Unit, Fleet Air Arm, Royal Navy, RNAS Yeovilton, 1970s

Stand-alone aircraft for SF2 (all variants) only

Contrary to popular belief, the Royal Navy fielded a number of squadrons of Hunters, primarily for training and second line duties, although these were also "mission-capable" if the need had arisen. FRADU was the last FAA unit to use the Hunter.

Spinners modified the Thirdwire stock Hunter FGA.9 to make it flyable, and fitted the cockpit. He also provided inspiration for decals.

  6. I didn't merge my installs - and I won't be the only one. That leaves us with the difficult problem of working out which desktop icon points at which install...

    This should help. There's a different icon for each version of SF2 - SF2, SF2E, SF2V and SF2I.

Should be fairly obvious which is for which! ;-)

  8. South African Air Force skin for the TW Stock SE5a.

These rather surprising roundels were used by the SAAF from its inception in 1920 until 1929, according to IMPS SA.

They were used in "combat", during the Johannesburg Rand Revolt against militant white mineworkers (Maggie Thatcher would love it in old SA!) and the Bondelsvart Uprising in SWA in 1922.

The rest of the skin is not really historical, because while some SAAF SE5s stayed in PC10, most were painted bright silver, and had 3-figure serials in black on the rear fuselage.
The aircraft which I have seen still wearing it's original brown PC10 dope also still carried its RAF serial number, so I have simply left the stock serials and letters in place.

  9. What-if Army Air Corps Cessna AOP MkI (Green.) Skin for the Overkill payware O-1D Bird Dog available here:

    http://overkill.combatace.com/

I recommend this aircraft highly - it is easily the most carefully researched and built aircraft I have ever seen for SF2, and sets new standards in every respect. Well worth the very reasonable contribution.

This aircraft skin is inspired by the Auster AOP Mk.6, a very similar aircraft used by the British Army and some Commonwealth armed forces. The serial numbers correspond to blocks used for AOP Mk.6 aircraft.

Starting in 1981, the SAAF fleet of 16 F1CZ aircraft were all repainted in this rather unusual three-tone grey scheme.

Includes loading and hangar screens, new drop tank, and assorted odds and ends.
