  1. Playing Doom

Yes that was very frustrating. Doom 3 thus far gets a single player thumbs up from me, but as far as multiplayer, below average due to the 4 player limitation and the connectivity issues with multiplayer games. Cheers Beer
  2. Doom 3 Mods

LOL I was saying today that the first mod should be a flashlight mounted to the weapon :) Great find, I am gonna impliment it ASAP. Cheers Beer
  3. CD Stealer

  11. Version

The 3 files included are the CARGOSHIP_DATA.INI, this is needed to get the smoke to come out of the stack in the new location; and cargoship.lod which is the model itself, and I am including the cargoship.out which is generated when exporting the object from 3ds Max (not really sure what this does). Currently to use the carrier fly an antishipping mission. The Antishipping mission is usually a group of cargoships but randomly has Tankers at times...this Mod replaces the Cargoship and not the Tanker, so if you get a tanker you will need to exit and reload the mission. A quick way to tell is surface radar, if multiple contacts then likely you got the carrier(s), if a single ship likely a tanker. The Carrier is visible at 8 miles.
  12. My best friend, "Chief". In bad shape.

Great to hear navychief! About four years ago my yellow lab mix was given 6 months to live, there was a chance that the surgery could prolong his life (but for how long was unknown) cost was estimated at about $1200. This crushed the Mrs. as "Theo" was her company while I was gone to sea. We chose to have the surgery (removed tumors in the bladder), and "Theo" is still going like the everyready bunny (although he does have some grey like me now...) Here is a pic of him in thats a couple of months old, I made him pose on the "Midgate Deck" I built for him to ride in the truck (can't believe Chevy left the back of the seats metal, poor thing was slipping and sliding in the back of the truck). Unfortunately we had to put down our cat a few weeks ago, had "Nicky" since 1987, got her when I was in Flight School in Pensacola. She made the treks from Pensacola to California to Maine. Anyways, great news on chief navychief! Cheers Beer
  13. Airline crew lands at wrong airport

Sound Navigation practice requires using 2 or more sources to establish a position. Position Info for the Pilots 1. GPS 2. VOR/DME 3. ATC via Center and Approach Control... 4. Visual Refrences A crosscheck with the GPS vs the VOR/DME should have told them something was up; not being sure which was correct a call to ATC would have collabrated one or the other. Cheers Beer
  14. I am there now, me and JJ on comms. Cheers Beer
  15. A Tragic Story.

Brings a tear to me eyes. The good news is they reproduce so fast there will more to fill in as required for future events. CHeers Beer
  16. Remember The Shoe Bomber?

    Great Post! Cheers Beer
  17. I worked for a Captain that had a saying: "You are either a part of the problem or part of the solution" It is so true... The best solution for software issues would be what? Productive threads indicating consumer discovered Bugs/Glitches; which the developer could read and possibly assign fixes or testers to duplicate. Now fill these type threads with flaming, and add unsoliticted personal insights as to the poor quality or I/we are disgruntaled consumers and deserve better... why would anyone want to sort through that? The moderator has a job, if certain boards are heavy moderated, I think the above saying comes into play: "are the board users part of the problem or part of the solution?" To be part of the solution the board users should write productive threads indicating consumer discovered Bugs/Glitches; which the developer could read and possibly assign fixes or testers to duplicate. I bet that would speed things up ;) IMHO, those who are most vocal for getting the patch out quickly should be spending their time being part of the solution instead of being part of the problem. 18. I look forward to trying LOMAC when the next patch is out. I have to agree with Snacky on Beta testing. I am not a Beta Tester for LOMAC, however I have been a Tester for another Sim. People think testing is easy, it is not. For each Bug you find you have to duplicate it, once duplicated then other testers duplicate it, a narrative of what happens for each bug is required (but wait is it a known bug??? need to check to see if it is already known...), then the screenshots, then you, move on to the next bug. Uninstall, then install the new Beta...You are trying to get a good product out, but you have no control other then submitting the bug (and you are not getting paid likely), someone else prioritizes it, you read the boards and are getting flamed because others think they can do a better job and really only want one thing, not to make the game better, but to have the latest and greatest version. I have seen people added to a Beta team and download the latest and post they have the latest and they are a tester, guess how many bugs they submit...very few if any. Do they search the database, do they give detailed info so a programmer can actually fix the issue? No. Beta testing is a labor of love, and for those who have not actually done it, it is no where near as easy and as fun as it may sound. Hats off to the testers, keep up the good work. Its ready when its its ready. Cheers Beer
  19. These are the very reports we get via Imarsat C on the ship, usually the host port or nearby country is in on it. Frequently the Ports required rent a cops, are in it also. 9/11 has required strict Ship and Port security rules that are to be in force 1 July 04. They may help, but it will still be an issue until the hosting Ports and countries aggressively go after the Pirates. Cheers Beer
  20. My Team Finished 7-1!!

    Great Job Eagles! Cheers Beer
  21. Question About Tcas And Radar

Hey Firehawk, I have pictures of Weasy in a Navy Flight Suit :D Tell me doesn't he look happy in the VP Navy Flight Suit (VP-10)? Weasy really needs to come out of the closet... CAC 1, NFO Wings, and a Pegged Out Fun Meter Now tell me he does he look like he is having a good time with VP-10...???? FLY NAVY Cheers Beer P.S. I hope Weasy don't have the RudeAzz pics to retailiate with... Pics were taken at Dayton 2003 Air Show where about a half dozen of us Sim Types hooked up. Great time had by all!
  22. Modding is fun and a labor of love for most. The community benefits from modders work, and the lifespan of games is prolonged. This is a "win win" for all parties involved. It seems the SFP-1 Community is starting to build their own "Deck of Cards" and is up to a Ace of Spades (GT), and the lowly 2 of Clubs (Ranger332) being the latest edition of the hall of shame "Deck o Cards"... I see that some are saying they will be posting their mods and they will be passworded (do you really want people emailing you to unlock a mod? Do you really think that the password will not get into his hands if it is a "public" release?), and I see that an additional model F-86 mod will not be released. Yet again the few (being our two of clubs) is ruining it for the many. The best thing I think of is to keep modding and releasing what you can. Will it turn up on the other site? Likely...will he change a skin slightly and call it his own work? Maybe... The only reasonable action I can think of is the modder with his "release" include a readme file. In that readme file you can say what you want. Warn the user of your file (which is your audience and his...) about the two of clubs (do not give the link to his site, it will only provide him more traffic), encourage a voluntary boycott of known plagerized work from his site. In your readme file also include sites that you approve of for obtaining your SFP-1 mods, and any considerations you desire (such as a do not modify and rerelease without approval from the origional author). In a nutshell, the best defense is public knowledge. This is would be through your readme files, after all the target audience is the same for all parties involved (end users of public mods). The best message board defense is to simply ignore him and threads pertaining to them. By all means though keep the mods coming, because modding is what its all about. Don't let the one ruin it for the all. Cheers Beer
  23. Great After Action Report! Looking forward to SH3! Cheers Beer
  24. New Sh3 Screens Posted...whoa!

That water looks great! Details in the damage models will be excellent. Hopefully they will have compartmentalization modeling too along with flooding so that realistic Damage/Stability is shown. Capsizing vs sinking etc. Cheers Beer
  25. Welcome Pcpilot To The Biohaz Staff

LOL PC Pilot! I can see Ranger 332 setting up as the sniper as you dance around the gas station with the phone book (as Steve Martin did)! Just kidding Welcome aboard!
