I never used Apple hardware but I have much respect for innovators, on top of that he had some true human wisdom behind(if not actually infront) all that technology talent. R.I.P. Steve

SF2 September 2011 Update
Brain32 replied to Fubar512's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Price/performance is all I'm looking at and last time, nVidia lost. Sure most games theese days are written for nVidia, but with the amount of money you need to shell out for a decent nVidia(because games still work like crap on low end ones ofcourse) I can have two kick-ass ATI's in crossfire...atleast that's the way prices are here -

Maping cockpit comparing to mapping external model is what layups are for dunking, much, much easier. With gauges just name them to what they do, if it's altimeter name it needle_alt, speedometer needle_spd etc. etc. You have lot's of examples in the ini's Btw. it looks quite good I would put a bit more polys into the canopy bow but that's me, keep it up it looks cool -

Just point the needle upwards and ofcourse set the pivot point to the center of the gauge, rest of it is done via INI... -

How to Convert *.TGA damage textures to *.DDS
Brain32 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Knowledge Base
Quite easily actually, I must slap my senile head for not posting this eons ago as I've been using it since last year: Anyway first you download this little tool: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Graphic-Editors/DXTBmp.shtml Then you just load your damage texture in TGA format into it and save as DDS DXT3 and that's it. Just make sure in the Mipmap form on the left right everything is unchecked, "Scaling Filter" is set to "Box" and "Processing" is set to "None". It may already be like that by default but I don't remember as I have it installed for a long time. I didn't post a screenshot as those are pretty much the only things you have to make sure off. It's a very simple program but helps immensely if you are really up to fully converting your stuff to the newest SF2 bells and whistles, it also reduces the amount of space on your HDD needed for the damage textures and keeps everything nice and tidy. P.S. Don't forget to edit the main ini to use DDS instead of TGA or you will not see the damage in game! P.S.2. I can't post in KB so I posted it here, this could be good as I guess more people will see it here lol- 1 reply

Jeeeeeeeeez the guy is obviously new on the forums, who knows how he handles english too is there really a need to react like that? I wouldn't say anything if the guy was constantly asking and bothering but you guys - are IMO overreacting.
