Not enough flak? I'm even afraid staying too long in menus... -
Armor help
Brain32 replied to Vambrace's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
StructuralFactor=X.X helps waay more than adding armour. I just add it to nose and/or fuselage to avoid "one hit fireball" effect. Just don't over-do it or you will get kryptonite airplane 1.5 up to 2.0 should be quite enough. With this killing a plane with one missile is still easy enough, same goes for guns, it just will not explode like mentos in a coke You will get de-wing, plane fire, controls shot off, and stuff like that, even in some extreme cases you will get a fireball but quite rare(head-on full speed hit with AiM-54 for example) Anyway all stock planes have so just follow their guidance and you can't miss -

SF2 - Realistic Flogger Cockpit?
Brain32 replied to Coupi's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
how's the radar done? -
People should understand and apply one simple rule: You either send the military or you don't send it, but if you do, the game is played by military rules. This is so silly I would laught if it wasn't actually pretty sad.

Man, I have no doubts you had a great time

DX10 Effects Shaders List
Brain32 replied to 331Killerbee's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Knowledge Base
To further help those that are fighting the conversion wars lol EffectShaderName=effectFire.fx -game uses it for afterburners and all kind of fires and explosions EffectShaderName=effectLightLevel.fx -game uses it for vapours, smoke and dust EffectShaderName=twColor1.fx -pretty much for anything other than smoke and fire -
It's selling at 82 freakin' bucks for PC version here...I'll pay that - NOT! For PS3 and XBox the price is 113,4$ I mean really....do I get a small car with it too?

And that is how it all started, eventhough just a kid I knew very well what that means, as my country was trying to do the same thing. Unfortunetly many walls were torn down before changes took place, walls of blood...

inacceptable size
Brain32 replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hangar screens work as advetised, all my hangar and loading screens are JPG's now. I also converted most damage textures to .dds thus I REALLY hope TK does not plan to revert dmg textures back to TGA as I will go apsolutely nuts and burn my computer down -
inacceptable size
Brain32 replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Damage textures are now in .DDS format so that's another relief What would be cool are the skins in DDS format, although I suspect that would demand some engine ironing. -
hdr enb stuff n bitch slaping it !
Brain32 replied to HotNess's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
In DX9 mode you can use the plug-in, in DX10 mode you can't but why would you want to anyway as you get both extremely nice effects which even HDR plug-in couldn't produce and excellent framerate(I even get better fps in DX10). So this is the breakdown: WinXP or earlier - use DX9 and HDR plug-in From Nov2009 patch ReadME: Vista/Win7 AND DX10 compatible GFX card - just play the game as is. -

Cool, since my Korea went zombie I'll try to adjust my Korea tiles for this... -
I'll sit in a Mirage, go up to coast and firewall the poor thing for all it's worth...then I'll look at the landscape and enjoy the speed

HDR mod
Brain32 replied to Parisek's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Using advanced shaders SF2:I actually provides better HDR effects than HDR mod ever did for me, actually I don't see the use for that plug-in anymore... -
Screenshot Thread

caught him looking at it huh? -
IL-2 was widely known for scalability and thus excellent performance, if you look at it today in it's latest version, IMHO it still has the best graphics on the flight sim market(not sure if FSX is better as I didn't try it) yet it runs best also

Realistic movement of ground Objects WHEELS
Brain32 replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Well because when you whizz past them at 800kmh+ with a MiG on your ass and every freakin SA-13 ever produced pointed at you, you are not likely to be concerned with wheels moving on tanks -

SF2V / WOV Air & Ground Expansion Packs
Brain32 replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Guys since I'm currently SF2:I blind I can only state my general thoughts... First in previous SF2 titles terrain INI's were NOT saved in unicode, if the game is not caring for modded data.ini it might be that now unicode IS required...that's a simple fix and can be done in a matter of seconds. If this works it will most probably solve the white patches Second the TOD's, if they require unicode I have no idea how to slove that, it's entirely possible that TK did al this with new terrain editor which saves files in unicode, if that is true then we will all have to wait for new TE... -
Strike Fighters 2: Israel RELEASE
Brain32 replied to Crusader's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yeah lol, I posted this then waited...waited....got really impatient and decided to ask even though I still didn't get the game lol Anyway if the ini's are not the problem here, then without the tool SF2:I terrain was made with we can basically forget terrain modding...it's hard to talk about it for me right now as I can't see what's going on, but I will very soon :) -
Strike Fighters 2: Israel RELEASE
Brain32 replied to Crusader's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Well if there are so many changes to the terrain, one could expect a new terrain editor... Did anybody ask TK about that?
