My missiles became almost useless.....
Brain32 replied to hide86's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
You also have to watch for target path, modern missiles in-game(don't know for RL) are great but are not wonders. AIM120 or R-77 will have no problems missing the target if you try to fire at unrealistic angles at targets travelling at high speed especially if they are popping decoys. I noticed though that AiM-9X and R-73M2 are mad and can hit virtually anything, scary stuff... BTW: Is there any way to make AI engage in BVR combat and even more importantly can one prevent them from sustaining extreme G manouvering(mostly turning). They often evade me making ridiculous shallow dive spiral but at extreme G. No problems for me to counter it(after years of fighting Spitfires in il2 lol) but it does not look too realistic... -

Brain32 replied to Major Lee's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Yes it would, we could make wonders with it  However official one is not likely to happen, this is what TK replied to me when I asked about it: Unfortunetly I have no programming skillz -

mig ammo and fuel
Brain32 replied to Canadair's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Well yeah but theese planes are often more manouverable than their counterparts, get in close and blast them, they also have big cannons (37mm) so you don't need to "hose" them, forget about "spray and pray" though. After flying some F-4B, I'm happy to have a gun at all -

New WOI Pics From TK
Brain32 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I try to avoid reading the comments on YT, once I was stuck trying to explain to some guy that Corsair and P51D couldn't brake the sound barrier in a dive I think he accepted that in the end After that I decided not to enter aviation debates on YouTube anymore lol Maybe it's the same guy from TW forums -
A Poll: Which Map Layout?
Brain32 replied to Major Lee's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Well actually, I'm not sure Aside from being a large download I can't think of any, the thing is, I'm also not sure how much benefit(visually) would it be with anything over 512x512 or the performance impact Hmmm maybe I should make some(2048-512) and compare... -
New WOI Pics From TK
Brain32 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I watched this yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZC8pTKyRBLU...feature=related Now I REALLY can't wait for WOI Ufff this is a very, very bad comparision, maybe you weren't quite into il2 over the years so it seems like you describe in theory, but there were several completely free il2 patches over the years that brought in more content than one(maybe even two) whole new add-on in SF series Ofcourse it's understandable that one can make wrong conclusions looking "from the outside" and ofcourse TK's team is smaller than 1C and is making wonders for it's fans too. Both dev's are the kind we want to support -

Cockpits for the right planes
Brain32 replied to boris1234's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Ummm, he did say F-16 "Sufa" I/E and F-15 "Ra'am" E/I and I didn't notice the angry tone IMO F-16A/C cockpits in the game are top notch, even the C version that is still a beta rox :) -

Brain32 replied to Brain32's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements

MiG-21bis FINAL
Brain32 replied to gerald14's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Well you don't have to do it for bisD as the hud wasn't upgraded. I know they say "some Lancer elements" on the net, however I checked for info from the inside. They only put some communication upgrades for compatibility with European ATF, they put in GPS and did a paint job, that was it It really is just a good 'ol "Bis" with a few extra switches and without the camera, I can PM you a few pics if you want... -
