  1. No.1- If I'm going to go through the trouble to skin all these planes I would rather they be right. Or as right as can be. I have no problems at all considering other peoples opinions. Especially Bucky's. I'd like to buy him a drink actually (Hope you're not in AA or anything Bucky ) No.2- I messed up the DH-2 download again Sorry about that guys. I'll repost tonight. Ok it should work now. Or as soon as it's approved. I didn't attach the file...DUH!
  2. View File DH-2's of No.24 Squadron 1916 This download contains a new skin for the DH-2 created by John 'Aladar' Dawson for First Eagles. I would like to thank John 'Aladar' Dawson for this great model. And I would like to thank Southside Bucky for sharing his expansive knowledge of the DH-2 colors and markings. This new skin for the DH-2 is that of No.24 Squadron from early 1916 to early 1917. Colors: "A" Flight - Red wheel discs with red and white striped outer wing struts. "B" Flight - Black wheel discs with black and white striped outer wing struts. "C" Flight - Blue Wheel discs with blue and white striped outer wing struts. The flight leader to all three flights will have a solid color on one of the outer struts. ex. The first aircraft in "A" Flight will have a solid red outer strut on the left side and right side. while the other strut remains striped. This is all done with decals to create the appearance of multiple skins of No.24 Sqn DH-2's There is only one main skin included. Enjoy, quack74 I updated the skin in this package. Now the underside of the fuselage has a white sawtooth pattern rather than the tan "dope" color Submitter quack74 Submitted 03/31/2010 Category Other Entente Aircraft Skins

  5. I'm posting the No.24 Sqn DH-2 pack in the download section.
  6. The Scouts are pretty much done. It's up to Capun to find the time to fix the bugs and things on the the other 3 models. The Scout C1 I believe is the only one thats been fixed up. I'll send you a skin, then tell me what you think. I figured the Dope was a bit dark too. No problem I'll lighten it up. As far as the wheels go, I would like them to stay. I'll add the lettering and numbers. Fill me in on what letters again so I understand. What letters and numbers did "A" Flight use then "B" and so on? Was it A-1, A-2, A-3 etc, etc. And B-1, B-2-3, etc, etc? I have to make the decals match with the wheel disc colors. Should I add the flight letter to the underside of the nose as well? I tried that emblem you posted. It just looked like an orange spot. Needless to say I left it off.
  7. Ok those No.24 Squadron DH-2's are done (I think). So here are some pics of No.32 Squadron DH-2's. A, B, and C flights. All will show up like the No.24's. And the last pics are of my Jasta 11 D.III's vs my No.24 DH-2's in a scrap. All appearing at random. Just like I intended. Awsome. The pics are of the same mission. Not all flights appearing. The last photo is of two flight leaders having a go at eachother. Happening all by chance. Very cool. I made the flight leaders of the No.24 DH-2's with one solid color outer brace. DH-2's of No.24 Squadron vs Jasta 11 D.III's JFM you should like the last pic Ok Bucky...... Let me have it!
  8. Ha, ha. I have to keep making changes
  9. Yeah LloydNB. All the above photos have decals on the outer struts. Thanks
  10. Just when I think I'm done! That strut decal would be too small to matter much I think. But I'll try it and color it. I created a batch of serials of 5960's and 7850's. I mixed them up. They're in no order. Hope thats good enough. It's a bitch making decals. Ok, so here are the final (?) No.24 squadron DH-2's: -Not the different flight color patterns on the outer wing struts if you can-
  11. No problem, I'll make those changes. I tried with the grey struts. It looked a little weird to me. But I'll do it. And I still have to do the serials. Should all struts be grey? Even the rear framework wood struts?
  12. Ok this is how I would like to do No.24 Sqn. All solid PC10 with different flight markings on the outer wing struts. Each flight will have four aircraft. The lead plane in each flight will have one solid colored wing strut in it's flight colors. The other (forward strut) will be in flight color and white striping. I want to save the dope and grey colors for No.32 Sqn. I know all DH-2 Squadrons had a mixed batch of paint styles. That would be way too much work to do for decaling. But I can do the seperately for you. Then you can mix them into your own flights in single missions. My goal here is to create a new aircraft called "DH-2 No24". Just install right into your aircraft folder and play. The different markings will appear all the time. Always in order by flights. The flights will stick together. you wont find a B flight in the middle of an A flight. Anyway here are some pics. They should be about done.
  13. It survived, but could use an iron
  14. Today at lunch time I was home with my daughter. I left her in the living room to play and I went to clean dishes. On our coffee table was my brand new "Pusher Aces Of WWI" by Osprey Publications and a nice cold full can of GingerAle. Lets just say the book is hanging up to dry!
  15. Very cool Bucky . You're the man
  16. Ok I think I got it now . I might make an all around PC10 version for the generic 24 squadron with the sawtooth pattern undrneath. Then I'll make the decals for the different flight's. Like the above photos, only no blue and white version ofcourse. I'll do the other versions you requested as seperate downloads. BTW I would also like to do possibly No.32 Sqn DH-2's. Dope and grey fuselage with dope tail fin. If anyone could help with the wheel colors (Bucky), I think "A" flight had red wheels, "B" Flight had white wheels with a black ring near center hub, and "C" Flight had black wheels with white centers. Correct me if I'm wrong. Remember I want to make a somewhat generic version. So just a general description should do.
  17. (From Bucky) - And yeah, B Flight was definitely black 'n white. This is confirmed in the DH2 'Windsock Datafile', by Barry Gray, and 'British Aviation Squadron Markings of WWI', by Les Rogers. Black and white in the same pattern as my "B"Flight version. Quartered? And the the outer struts in Blk and Wht?
  18. Whoa!!! 3 schemes just turned into a dozen! I was planing on doing something generic with decaling so 24 squadron would appear in single missions with different flights showing. Like the above photos. Just let me know how you would like to see A,B,and C flight. Be specific if you can on the colors. I dont know anything about the black and white version. The plane colors I was using are all the stock colors. Struts and all. I havnt changed the color of any parts yet. I'll do the other requests seperately as individual skins. Those photos would come in handy now Bucky
  19. These are from Osprey's Pusher Aces. I had to generalize a bit. I was under the impression that red was A flight, Blue and white quarterd was B flight, and Blue was C flight. They did change from time to time. Thats what makes it so hard to do RFC or RAF skins. DH 2 5964 of Maj Lanoe G Hawker, No 24 Sqn, Bertangles, November 1916 DH 2 5966 of Capt Alan M Wilkinson, No 24 Sqn, Bertangles, August 1916 DH 2 A305 of Capt Seldon Herbert Long, No 24 Sqn, Bertangles, March 1917 I'll make the saw tooth pattern for sure though. And the PC10 fuselage (fuselage, HA! more like tub with a seat ) Wasn't the black and white flight markings from No.32 Sqnd?
  20. nitpickin? Hardly. I would rather get them right. Let me have it.
  21. No problem I'll fix up the skin so it fits the N.24Bis.
  22. Thanks a lot Peter01 . It's a double edged sword though. These planes and others would be useless without your flight models . I wouldnt skin if there weren't any planes worth skinning. But I'm glad you like 'em. BTW the national and squadron markings are all produced by the game. I just did the serial numbers on the rudder. What's next you ask? Well I have to post some Gotha's for those airfields very soon. But I am currently working on tweaking the DH-2 skin of No.24 Sqd. I'm making three versions that will appear at random but in groups of 4. A flight, B flight, and C flight. A flight having having red wheels and red and white outer struts. B flight having a blue and white pinwheel pattern on the wheels and blue and white outer struts. C flight having solid blue wheels with blue and white outer forward struts and solid blue outer rear struts. They will appear at random using the decal system that I used for the Jasta 19 Dr.1's and the Jasta 11 D.III's (if you've check them out). So in any mission you fly the DH-2 or fly against the DH-2 you'll come across these different flights simultanously. I've done a minor touch up of the original skin just to lighten up the insignias and made the doping a more tan color with some weathering. I'll post a few pics when I finish them up. The hard part is getting the decals centered on the wheels when the wheels spin . But I'll get it.
  23. View File N.24 & N.27 Camouflage skins This download contains two Nieuport skins. 1. Nieuport 24 - Camouflage fuselage and wings with a bare metal nose section and cowl. 2. Nieuport 27 - Camouflage fuselage including nose, cowl and struts. You can select different national markings as well as squadron markings directly from the game loadout menu. I only created serial numbers for the rudder. These are in the "D" folder inside of the skin folders. Feel free to rename the folders to what ever you like. Drop each "Camo" skin folder in it's corresponding aircraft folder: Thanks to EmlD for the Nieuport models and allowing us to create new skins for them. The skins and skins only were done by quack74. Enjoy, quack74 Submitter quack74 Submitted 03/27/2010 Category Nieuport Skins
  24. They're in the download section now. Just waiting for approval.
