  1. I know you wanted something in a complete PC10 paint job Bucky. I already had these in the works.
  2. These Camels were covered completely with PC10 paint and had white dumbells as a unit marking. I also painted on the roundels.
  3. A DH-4 from No.202 Squad and a generic. Almost done. I Think.
  4. I thought it was just me. But when I too select "Closest Enemy Target" It will select any aircraft thats closest. Enemy or friendly. And if I try to select "Next Visual Enemy Target", again it will go to the next closest aircraft. Friendly or enemy. I've done a new install of this sim a couple of times, and it happens every time when I get to the Nov'08 update I think. Very anoying proplem. Needs a fix for sure. As far as the padlock, there are clouds nearby when I lose the padlock on an enemy. We (myself and the target) aren't neccessarily in the clouds when the padlock is lost. Just at cloud level or near the clouds. This is way too sensitive. It should be much harder to lose the padlock on an enemy. The enemy or myself should be IN the clouds and out of sight.
  5. Does it drive anyone else crazy when you're in the middle of a great dogfight and poof! you lose sight of the enemy and you're not even in the clouds? If you're even close to the clouds you lose the padlock. As long as I can see the enemy ,I should be able to stay locked on. Does anyone know where to change these Padlock values? Flight folder? Or Environment Systems?
  6. These are now in the FE download section. Anyone know of anymore please let me know. Enjoy
  7. These are now in the FE download section. A Flight, B Flight, and C Flight. Anyone see anything that should be changed let me know here. Enjoy

  12. Sorry I dont have the time right now to respond to your well explained descriptions. But may I say I'm honored you replied to my thread. I have read many of your posts over at theaerodrome.com for the last couple of years. I'm fairly new to WWI aviation and in the last couple of years have bought many books and started doing my own research. As you can tell from my skins, I'm trying to get them as accurate as possible. There are some mistakes I know. But like you said "sometimes a best guess is all we have to go on, at least until more information is uncovered". It's very very frustrating to say the least. Ofcourse the most colorful era for aviation is photographed in black and white . Thank you JFM for your help
  13. I'll tell ya Bucky, it seems that the compitition has stolen FE's thunder. Where is everybody?????????? Not a good sign Third Wire better come out with something good for FE and soon! This Jasta 11 thread took me away from finishing the F2b's. I'll finish them first. They're coming out real nice.
  14. 1. Did Karl Schafer's earlyD.III have a yellow nose and a yellow band just aft of the cockpit but just ahead of the black rear fuselage? And what was the color of the wheel discs? 2. Did MvR's early D.III have standard finish on the rear horizontal stabilizers and elevators as well as on the wings? 3. Wolff's early D.III with the rear fuselage painted purple, what were the wings painted? standard or purple - brown - purple? 4. A million more questions I have to remember this is for a game, not a research book
  15. All those things you mentioned are things I and I'm sure others have wondered about. In the above photos there is a red fuselage D.III with no markings but has the three color wings. Culd this one be used as MvR's early D.III? WarlordATF and myself have this one down as Festner's DIII. But I dont think there is a photo of Festners DIII anyway. If this DIII could be used as MvR's, then would it be safe to say it was used in this colorscheme till the middle or end of April 1917? Then after this date, when most of Jasta 11's DIII's fuselages were painted in overall red, would it be safe to say thats when MvR used the ALL red DIII? Before the arival of the DV that is. So the all red DIII (if there was one) was only used for 1 month? His first DV I didnt include with my Jasta11 DV's. Just the all red one. His first DV had a standard fuselage with red nose, red wings and struts, red wheel discs with red struts, and a complete red tail section I believe. This is the one he was shot in the melon in I'm sure. Is this wrong? As far as Lubbert's D.III, I have seen a few pics of this one. Such an odd paint job. The blue does seem to be a bit lighter you're right about that. I'll work on that and see how it looks. Ok, There were two Lubberts with Jasta 11 in early 1917. Brothers. Eddie Lubbert(?) I think flew the blue and yellow D.III early on but was killed early before June 1917(dont remember where I read the date). BUT there are a couple of photos of an Albatros D.V with what appears to be the same color scheme after E. Lubberts death. His brother maybe???? Does anyone know of this? There is a photo of MvR's DV and this other blue(?) and yellow(?) with white stripe D.V infront of hangers visiting Koghol 3 in the summer of 1917. Again Eddie Lubbert was dead by this time. I would like to do a D.V in this color scheme if it did indeed exist and belong to Jasta 11. Anyone have anything to add please do. Now Kurt Wolff's D.III. WarlordATF did include a version with just the rear fuselage and tail section in purple. I can add this color scheme. But, as MvR's D.III wasnt all red till mid to late April 1917, can I say that Wolff's D.III was painted this way until the same time before becoming (all?) purple? And were the wings painted purple-brown-purple early on with the natural varnished fuselage and purple tail? His later D.III was said to have light blue wheel discs. I have to change that. Thanks for the info Bucky. I'll work on these the next couple of days.
  16. First I would like to thank WarlordATF for allowing me to use his original Jasta 11 D.III skins. He's the one who did the research for most of these skins. I just touched them up a bit and added a couple more from my own research. I'm going to repost WarlordATF's skins along with mine just to keep them all together in the download section. A lot of you already downloaded WarlordATF's D.III. They generally will look the same except for some weathering and the painted over insignias. Also the colors have been laid down differently to show more of the panel lines and such. The first batch is Jasta 11 D.III's from March to April 1917. The second batch is Jasta 11 from late April 1917 to the early summer. This is when other members of the Jasta insisted on painting there aircraft in an overall red. They would add their own personal colors though to the nose, elevators, and some fuselage bands. Sadly not too many photo exist of Jasta 11 DIII's or D.V's. So these are all that are known. That being said I'll add a generic D.III to add some more planes in the flights. I'll post these very soon. There will be a lot of pics here. I figured it's been a little slow here for awhile, so here is something to look at Late April 1917
  17. A hand full of these Albatros D.V skins were also done by Saltfiskur. I just had to tweak them a bit to remove the painted on Baulkencruez insignias. The Pfalz D.IIIa skins are by me. And I created a few more Albatros D.V's that appear in the original lineup photo. That photo can be found in Osprey's "Pfalz Scout aces of WWI" on page 32, And also in "Pfalz Aircraft of World War I" by Jack Harris on pages 31, bottom and 40, top. So I'll post a complete Jasta 15 line up mix of Albatros and Pfalz aircraft as soon as I hear from Saltfiskur. Havnt heard from him in a while. Hope he's still around . All the info will be in the readme file.
  18. I'll start on'em after I post the F2b and Pfalz skins I just did. I will need some references for sure. I'll let you know.
  19. Thanks bucky. I'll do a seperate skin for A-7288 since it is pretty famous. The skins I do are just random. I've done more Fokker Dr1's and Albatros fighters that I havnt posted yet. Even some Pfalz DIII's. But if you or anyone else has a request, by all means ask. I'll do what ever I can Maybe I'll do F2b's from No.48 Sqn with the two vertical fuselage stripes. I dont know. I had a bunch of Jasta 15 Albatros D.V's and three Pfalz D.III's from March 1918 when Berthold took over JGII. And I did a few for Bertholds jasta 18 from late 1917, still with the blue and red fuselages. But Saltfiskur posted some of them already. So I'll ask him first. I had to remove the Insignias from his skins so they can be used with the eizencruez and balkencruez markings. There is a line up photo of Jasta 15 in march 1918 with Berthold's Pfalz D.IIIa at the far right of the line up. I did all those aircraft. I think there was 13 or 14 aircraft. I would like to post them all.
  20. Here is A flight with Numbers, B and C flight with letters. The serial numbers have been enlarged and all start with A-71** and A-72**. Please, if anyone sees anything that needs to be changed let me know. Remember there isnt much I can do with the weathering and fuselage appearance.
  21. Therefore, would it be possible to start 'A' flight with No.2 rather than No.1? The shade of PC10 looks good, but IMHO it tends to make them look like brand new machines, which is okay if that's how you want 'em. But if the PC10 was just a tad lighter, I think your usual excellent weathering would stand out that bit more. The only other slight innaccuracy I can point out is the size of the serial numbers: They were really quite large on most F2b's, especially on 11 Sqn's. As shown on this profile of McKeever's A-7288: Well I wanted to just use the game generated letters and numbers and serial numbers, which happen to start at 1 and A and repeat every 16 count up to 99. I would have to create a decal folder for each flight with 99 Letters and or numbers and 99 serial numbers. A whole lot of typing . The serial #'s that I used are the stock "Camelserial" numbers from the objects folder. I could try to scale them to make them a bit bigger but they wont be as fat looking. Unless ofcourse I make 99 new serial decals . Now I'll probably end up making all new decals If I dont it will bug me now ] Thanks a lot bucky! .........Just playing . You're right though they should be accurate. And as for as the PC10 color goes I can still lighten them up a bit. But the way the template is set up It's impossible to really get the weathering the way I would like to. I'll do some more work on it this weekend. I have a funeral tomorrow morning so I dont know when exactly. Soon. BTW, I dont have a book on the F2b's. Could you (Southside bucky), or anyone tell me the range of serial numbers used on F2b's of No11 Squad so I could do the accurate decals.
  22. Almost done. There is a patch of grey on the rear fuselage where the horizontal stabilizers attach to the fuselage. For the life of me I cant figure out were that is on the template . It might have to stay. If the PC12 is still too dark, please let me know (bucky ). There was a mixed bag of numbers and letters used on these F2b's. So maybe I'll make one flight (A) with numbers instead of the letters.
  23. Thanks bucky. I'll try it out and then I'll move the number or letter decal to the center of the top wing. Over the weekend most likely. Then I'll post everything.
  24. This is the only version I have. Is there two versions to download? I wanted to put the "Letter" in the center of the upper wing. But the gun is in the way. Is the other version at Skunkworks? Or did somebody here remove the Lewis gun and post the fix? I'ld rather have that version. And I'll lighten up that paintjob too. Have a Wake to go to tomorrow and a funeral on saturday for my grandfather. God rest his sole. He was a great man. Veteran of WWII and Firefighter.
  25. The roundels are the stock ones. I still have to make new ones with the white borders and reposition them. Part of the WIP. Is the PC12 color too dark?
