  1. Damwaar, Just use the hierarchy tool, it's basically a linking tool where you first click on the child, then the parent. You'll see a box in the upper left in Max where there's one box with what looks like a very short chain link to another box on it's lower right. Click that first, then the child, then drag to the parent and release the mouse button. Now they should be linked. To find out hit H (brings up a selection box). Check the "Display Subtree" box down below, and now you can scroll through the model's parts to see exactly how the hierarchy is set up. Just follow that guide above and you'll be fine. I ran into the same problem with the Prowler and felt like throwing in the towel after all that work, but once the child/parent things are setup correctly you'll be good to go.
  2. That's just a starburst effect for the flame because the rocket motor is still burning.
  3. Sony, Yes, do everything you just said. That's what I did after I made it and it works fine.
  4. Now can someone please make a Fuel Air Explosive (FAE) ? Click reload to watch this mini movie, very cool.
  5. Wanting to take a Prowler break, I've started working on an AGM-88A HARM missle.
  6. It's already started a few days ago. :)
  7. Sony, looks freaking great! How about a beta trade, Prowler for Draken?
  8. Gramps' fine work there on the Patriot decals. :D
  9. More pics on my site... http://mywebpages.comcast.net/hawker/pics/prowler
  10. H Key does wing folding and canopy closing. F key (flaps/slats) drops the hook when flaps are lowered.
  11. Gramps first decal set for this bird. Looks great Gramps!
  12. Ok, the plane will be off to the painter today to get some skins started. Here's how it looks now. After some detailing work it should look pretty sharp! And Gramps is coming up with some great decals too. Must sleep now.
  13. It's a blast to fly. I think you guys will like it. :D
  14. Ranger, thanks. I got all that myself before I even began this project. :D
  15. Lots of mapping progress. Still a bit left but it's coming along. :) I'm using Zur's decals just as a test (F-86) so don't mind the Navy/Air Force joint venture. hehe It's a very basic skin and I'm making templates for Photoshop as I go. Shouldn't be too much longer then I'll get the images to the painters for some really nice detailing.
  16. Come on!! Gotta promote "eye candy" for these guys. :P
  17. As long as the modeller knows what he's doing, it won't be a problem. It's really very easy. Just a matter of breaking the wing up into proper sections (AND flight controls, this get's a bit tedious). You have to not only do lots of PIVOT editing in Max to get things exact, then you get to go into the data.ini file and properly call out everything so the game makes it animate. The end result is very satisfying though and is worth the effort. For the Prowler's wings I had to animate 4 speedbrakes, 4 spoilers, 4 slats, 4 flaps, and two ailerons, and then do the wing folding and hope that it would all work!! I'm very glad this sim is capable of all this stuff. Great fun. :D
  18. Thanks. Here's an update showing the landing gear. Did lots here this afternoon. Added a small gear door in the forward MLG bays that quickly swings open to allow tire clearance. Added the NLG door window and holes for the sequence lights. Very close to beginning the mapping process now.
  19. A few more tweaks and I'll start the mapping process. Painters get ready! :D
  20. Updates. Canopy now double sided (glass), smoothed parts of the plane (see leading edge of wings), filled in holes at wing joint. Coming along.
  21. I suppose it could. I'm not a weapon's guru, but I can always poke around in there and see what I need to do to make it a HARM. Thanks for the info.
