  1. THANKS: MODDERS

Sometimes I feel saying thanks is not enough for the modders. I have tried helping a friend create some small mods. To put it plainly I suck! Saying that I sit back and get the rewards of the modders. After trying I really appreciate all the time, hard work, frustration and most likley a few late hours that are put in. No matter how small the mod is it is a welcome addition to SF. So for all the ArmourDaves,USAFMTL,Monty CZ , wpnssgt ,Marcfighter ,Pasko,Ranger,MajorLee ,column5 ,RussoUK2002 , Capun,Lud von Pipper ,Digital Overload, Tiwaz, =JW=darkpresence , WOLF257 ,Swede ,Bananimal ,Dueces,Mitch,Lobo mau and any other modder I missed should know Yes your work is appreciated. For all us out here who download your work we can only say Thanks and keep up the good work because of you SF is becoming the game it was intended to be.
  2. I have been reading in other forums about key modders thinking about packing in SF. To me this game depends heavily on mods to keep it going. Personaly this is one of my favorite games. The other day I was in some game stores and saw Il-2FB and CFS3 still at full price. Now I know FB is awaiting their patch and CFS3 is awaiting their terrain editor but they keep selling those games. SF if you can find a copy is usually in some bargin bin. This games patch seems to be crucial to its future. How many scrren shots of potential planes have we seen. So far we have downloaded only a few. I am not a modder so I do not know how crucial this patch is to make these planes flyable. I have the highest respect for any modder no matter how small the mod is. This thread is not about the patch because I will never say(are we there yet!!!) if you know what I mean. The talk is all about LOMAC but it is not a sim in the early 60s. When you see of people who have made an impression in this game thinking about moving on you have to wonder. I hope LOMAC will not be the death of SF.
  3. Major Lee Those mountains are awesome!!!!!!!!!! It is not so easy now tracking down your target while trying to avoid the mountains. So far the mountains are winning. This is a major(forgive the pun) addon to the game. I thought when Dueces first came out it was great. You have stepped it up one notch. Thanks for all your hard work and time. This will add another challege to the game.
  4. Has anybody been over to SIMHQ recently. They have posted screen shots of the new Vietnam Campaign that is being constructed. You want to talk about detail. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!
  5. Monty CZ I really liked your F-89c and I'm sure this one will be right up there, The only problem I have right now is I cannot get the sound to work but I just installed so I will work on the bugs. Excellent work and many thanks for all the time you put in.
  6. Dueces- I found the mission with IL-28s sitting on the runway and approach. Could this help? [MissionHeader] AircraftType=F-4e MissionMap=DESERT MissionType=SWEEP StartTime=16:00:00 StartDate=09/18/1969 [MissionData] FriendlyAirActivity=1 EnemyAirActivity=1 FriendlyAirDefenseActivity=1 EnemyAirDefenseActivity=1 PlayerMissionID=1 PlayerPositionID=1 MissionNumber=5123 [Weather] WeatherType=CLEAR WeatherAlt=2000.0 WeatherThickness=500.0 FogAmount=1.8 ContrailAlt=900.0 StartWindDirection=150 StartWindSpeed=2.57222 WindGustingAmount=4.57222 [AircraftMission001] AircraftType=F-4e Name=SHOWTIME FormationType=USFighter Size=4 RandomChance=100 MissionType=SWEEP ObjectiveID=2 RatingForSuccess=10 StartOnGround=FALSE Position=610000.000,500000.000,2000.0 Heading=353.0 Speed=180.0 Alignment=FRIENDLY Loadout=AirToAir Waypoint[01].Position=620100,501000,2000 Waypoint[01].Size=300.0 Waypoint[01].Command=WAYPOINT WAYPOINT[01].Speed=200 Waypoint[02].Position=617000,491000,2000 Waypoint[02].Size=300.0 Waypoint[02].Command=WAYPOINT WAYPOINT[02].Speed=200 [AircraftMission002] AircraftType=IL-28 Name=ANVIL FormationType=SovietBomber Size=8 RandomChance=100 MissionType=STRIKE ObjectiveID=1 RatingForSuccess=50 StartOnGround=TRUE Position=617000,491000,121.0 Heading=170.0 Speed=0.0 FuelPercent=0 Alignment=ENEMY Waypoint[01].Position=617000,491000,121.0 Waypoint[01].Size=0.0 Waypoint[01].Command=NONE ;TAXI ;WAYPOINT WAYPOINT[01].Speed=0
  7. Deuces - I downloaded a mission aways back where you destroyed aircrat on the runway. I modified it a couple times with any plane I wanted. When they made the mission they put the fuel in the plane to zero so it could not move. I do not know if this could help but could it be possible to modify your range and put such an aircraft with no fuel, that way when you bomb the plane it will explode. This might even be a dumb question but thought I would ask if it could improve the targets in your range. Very Nice Work and thanks!
  8. One is Lud von Pipper who is thinking of quiting modding. The other is ArmourDave who is taking the summer off for other reasons. There are a couple of more who have indicated they might be headed in the same direction. No need to name names. The only reason that these two are brought up is because they have been major players in the modding community. One for their mods and two helping other people with their mods. I for one appreciate everything they have done for this sim. If any of the modders decide to move on all we can say is thanks for what you have done for us.
  9. Very nice work!!! Lots of detail. They will look good in my hangar. Will be looking forward to downloading them.
  10. Does anybody know how to adjust the length of a fly by view? I remember seeing a thread where you add some zeros to make it longer or other numbers to shorten it. I cannot find the thread again. Goes to show you save everthing you never know when you might need it.
  11. Dice -- I agree. How many times have we upgraded our computers or bought new ones. Now for most of us the word proceessors and basic use of the main programs, the PII would still do the job easily. How many of us have upgraded our computers with some excuse so that we could play the high end games. I know that I will upgrade my video card one last time. I will not keep upgrading my computer after that for games. This is what I see the industry has to look at . The need for realism with a high end computer vs a game that you could sell to more people that could play on their current computers. This is a fine line because the product has to please both sides. I am not the only one who has said thats it no more upgrades. I will play with what I have. Lets face it a $50 game plus upgrades makes that game worth.......?
  12. What a difference the pilot sitting in the seat makes. Very nice work. Heres a thanks to you in advance for the many hours you must of put into this project.
  13. wpnssgt_1 Very nice work. I thought you did not have any time to create while you were zooming around the world. Oh I forgot you modders can create a work of art overnight in your sleep. You guys sure have talent. Nice job again.
  14. I just returned from the Winnipeg International Air show. I was blown away by the demonstration of the F-14 Tomcat. That is one plane if you get a chance to see do it. I could not believe the size of it. I have seen other carrier planes but this was the first F-14 Would somebody know if the Tomcat is the biggest plane on the carriers today. If not what type of aircraft on any age carrier would be bigger. They had a B-25 close to it but the F-14 looked bigger.(ruling out the B-25 from WWII) Thanks.
  15. When I was talking to the pilot he said - Landing on the deck of a carrier was the most unatural thing he ever did - he said think about it you are trying to land and the runway is moving away from you. - to land you have to catch the runway. - he also said once you master the landing then they want you to do it at night. -I guess you need a sense of humour and nerves of steel to be a Navy pilot!
  16. Monty CZ -I have modified some campaigns and missions to use the F-89C. It is this type of plane that fits perfect for the era of the game. It is too bad tha nobody has said thanks. The amount of work that any of you modders puts in is greatly apperciated. ( by me and lot more people throughout BioHaz) I hope nobody takes your work for granted! I for one would like to say thanks. I personaly try to acknowledge any modders work because I have not the talent some of you have and its the least I can do.
  17. I have no sims to play!

MadJeff --- after seeing your posting aways back about mods for WWII Fighters I ended up buying them. Its like kickstarting the game again and giving it another life. Its amazing how a few mods can change a game. Thanks for the post.
  18. If I rember correctly when you unzip it it opens to a folder F89C The folder should read F-89C I believe the dash is missing on the name of the folder. So.. just rename the folder F-89C Check the configuration settings in the F89C file. Once in awhile something gets left out. The contents of this file have to match the folder name. Hope this helps.
  19. USAFMTL Are you confined to base! I do not know where you find all your time but I for one appreciate it. First your Korean campaign, then the Sabre Pak with Zur and now the Fury. I do not know what is your next project but keep them coming. It is people like yourself willing to put the time and effort for people like myself to enjoy. The only way I can help is by saying THANKS!!! to another job well done. There a times I think you modders do not get the acknowlegment you deserve.
  20. Very Very impressive! To all you talented mod makers Wow. That is one plane that is going to be hard to sit and wait for. Keep up the good work guys.
  21. smudger This is the place to ask questions. The people who vist BioHaz are very helpful. Alot of them are the creators of the mods that you downloaded. If the community here can"t answer they can point you in the right direction. For single missions there are lots here created by Ranger in the downloads section. Highly recomend his missions.
  22. I was surfing and saw this at Skunworks by Sal_ Here's a little taste of a new terrain project I'm working on. The terrain textures from IL-2 are quite good, I am testing to see how they work in Strike Fighters. These are the 'farm' tiles. Sorry I don't know how to upload pictures. Try this and see if it works. ]http://skunkworks.free.fr/forum/phpBB2/vie...php?t=604[/img]
  23. Nice work!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all the hours and hard work eveybody put into this. I for one really like the Sabre and this pak makes it so much better. Now I really look forward to the Korean campaign. Thanks again to everybody involved with this pak. This game keeps on getting better.
  24. Saw this at Third Wire. www.thirdwire.com/projects/p1/index.htm
  25. My son, pictures from Iraq...

I have nothing but the greatest respect for any serviceman or woman no matter what country they come from. I think Goose (just going with the flow and no harm intended) has made one DAD very proud of him. It is very nice for PCPilot to share his pictures with us. That goes to show how much he means to you. Not everybody would share their pictures with a bunch of strangers from around the world. Thank You and hope you see him soon. Hopefully with things winding down in Iraq it will be in no time at all.
