  1. don't know about shadows, but they reflect on the water in NA

     

    unfortunately, the cloud deck heights have been locked away for several patchs; so, no longer adjustable

     

    ( i start to get more and more irritated with TK's last year or so choices )

     

     

    Well, clouds are tga's (transparancies) so I don't think so but it would be cool.

     

     

    Would had been uber cool


  2. Thanks Wrench! so far i only found the discussion (will keep on looking for updated downloads. Although i think pretty much the ini information needed is there in the thread i guess)

     

    So i guess both AntiShip MIssiles and literally Cruise missiles (land targets) can both used as type"7" weapons on both sea and land targets? they will just travel to the selected target either a ship or ground target ? Would be nice to have some indication in the cockpit when being within range . Aren't there air launched Harpoons used in stock loadout in any stock flyable ?? (A-7?)

     

     

    Air defences being able to target and shoot those missiles is a wanted game engine candy :D

  3. What guidance type (& corresponding guidance type number) would you use for

     

    1. AM39 Air launched anti-ship Exocet

    2. Storm Shadow / Scalp-EG air launched cruise missile

     

     

    i am interested more about in-game effectiveness rather than fidelity corresponding to theoretical real-life guidance type (that probably the game engine cannot reproduce),

    In other words the Exocet to always find its ship target (or at least able to target always the non civilian ships for sure) and the cruise missile to target and hit the selected ground target (unless both ofcourse got successfully intercepted by some AA system)

     

    (e.g. the only way for the first maybe is to equip all ships with radar (how would i do that?) and make the exocet a radiation homing guided weapon? )

Ten years is a primary milestone in any business, but for an internet website community, this is well near an eternity. :salute: For all the money spent, the many hours given and the many headaches and frustrations, I thank you all for your kind and generous efforts. :drinks:

    You have given us all a place to have virtual community and comradeship. For some, this has even turned into Real Life™ friendships. Along the way, CombatAce also became the 2nd Home™ of many Old Guard™ simmers; I won't attempt to name them, there are too many to list and I would feel bad if I missed someone. You know who they are. Some have come and gone, many are still around. Still, through all of life's ups and downs, CombatAce has stayed in place to as a primary source of information, inspiration, mods, updates and community.

    I had the other day some rare for me short memory restart and few things / people of back in the days came to me, although not related directly with CA, i wonder whats with them now. Deuces, who made i think the first terrain mod? some Beamrider dude, Mustang whos first (ever?) max tutorials on building a plane are still used today. I am more than happy to see key people and their work still here for and with us.

    BTW.. I've no idea how the decals are supposed to be set up in max, I understand that they are made from .tga files; but how does one specify where they are supposed to go in max? Do you like pick polys in the mesh where they are supposed to go?

    I'd really appreciate it If someone could give me some idea or point out where to get the info

  6. He is doing a great job. F-5A was in the same preference place for me with Mirage F1 as the next 3W DLC candidate. A gorgeous tough little jet fitting indeed all terrains. served with so many forces, so many interesting skins. I am so thrilled that the possibilities of a Hi-Fi F-5A too are looking that good now :grin: 2011-2012 the SF world is blossoming
