When I had my wisdom teeth removed, two of them could be pulled right at the dentist, but the other two I was sent to jaw surgery because the X-rays showed the roots were twisted up pretty bad. The actual procedure did not take very long, cutting with the little electric saw had a slightly disturbing sound though. Anyway I have no fear of the dentist so the actual procedure was a piece of cake. The bad part was the pain afterwards, and the taste of the thread they used to stitch my gums back on. I used a mix of painkillers that attacked the pain from different sides but that was still not always as effective as I had hoped. And yeah there was the bleeding too. I had a bunch of bandaid thingies I was supposed to stuff into the mouth and bite down on, to keep pressure on. I did not drown my pillow in blood much though. Anyways I feel for ya. Recovering from this kind of thing is not a fun time. I would say much worse than the actual procedure.

ECM vs Gainful...
Rodent replied to Lt. James Cater's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I get a mental image of a ninja carrying a lightsource through the night so bright that nobody can look at him. It may make it harder to make him out but it kind of defeats the purpose of sneaking. I know, I am a disturbed individual. -
Strike Fighters Gold video

I posted this in the pub already but thought it might belong here too. It is some footage I recorded while playing SFG with addons from here and then added music to it. Hope you like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01r3-_EpZLA -
Strike Fighters Gold video
Rodent replied to Rodent's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I probably could make a single continous vid of an entire mission but the file with the raw recording would be huge. I don't think I could fit that on my limited space. At least not without throwing out most footage I have already. I have the full version of FRAPS and as far as I know there is no built in limiter to how long you can record like the demo version has. Also recordings only takes the images of what your screen shows, it is not like a replay function so you can go in later and check the same action from different angles. FRAPS is a pure screen capture thing. -
WoE problem

I had a similar problem briefly. Not sure if this will help you but try remapping the "exit mission" key to something else and see if that helps -
I did use FRAPS to record. Full version, latest update. You can get even higher quality but that fills up the harddrive really quick.

Man I loved Fleet Defender. Awesome campaigns and so much stuff happening all the time.

Yeah the swedes got to play a bit. Probably shows I am partial to swedish jets . I am a swede myself after all! Thanks for your comments guys. Glad you like the video. At first I only had a 1 rating so I thought I probably must have upset someone to get that.

The very last one at the credits? That would be the F/A-37A Talon. You can get it here http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=4388

Me too. I was never allowed to host any hangman games after that first one...

Reverse automatic deployment
Rodent posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I noticed when playing with some of the downloaded aircraft that some parts have animations that seem to be triggered at set speeds. Such as the swing wings of the F-14 and the canopy of the A-6 and A-10. All of those are good, except that some of them seem to be backwards. The Tornado popping its canopy open as it speeds off down the runway and keeps it open until it lands again just does not look very good. Also I noticed the talon from stealth (awesome model, love it) take off with its winged folded in, and extend as it sped up. So I was wondering, is there a quick and easy way to reverse wich state is considered to be deployed? If there is not then give me the hard way. Who knows? I may grow a brain -
Reverse automatic deployment
Rodent replied to Rodent's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I tinkered around a bit and seem to have found a way to make the swing wings behave like I want to. in the Talon_data.ini I found this part In my random tinkerings I set the retract value higher than the deploy value just to see what it would do. I made it look like this The result was that on the ground the wings were out like they should be. As I took off and sped up enough the wings closed in to the body, and as I slowed down again the wings extended again. It appears to have the desired visual effect, but I am not sure yet if it messes anything else up instead. -
Reverse automatic deployment

Setting the canopy to manual is a good idea, but I would like to keep the swing wings automatic. Do I understand it right that if you have manual operation the AI will not use it then? If canopy is closed by defaul that would not be a problem with that, but still I would like my AI buddies to do the swing wing thing -
Hello folks. Just thought I would say hello and introduce myself and this seemed like a good place to do it. I am a bit of a simulation enthusiast and have been spending a lot of time with Silent Hunter 4 and Orbiter prior to this. So I am no stranger to adding community created content although I found it a lot easier in Orbiter than SFG. (I figure because Orbiter is just one sim and all content is made for that, rather than most content for SFG is made for other sims using the same engine) I saw a video on youtube some years ago featuring Strike Fighters Gold and thought it looked fun. Made me remember Fighter Bomber I had for my Atari ST and got me a little bit nostalgic. I am into theese kinds of simulators and there has not been a whole lot of this kind to find on the shelves of game stores exactly. But anyway I came across SFG a little while ago in a collection box and went for it so now I have it and am overall pretty happy with it, although I feel like a retard sometimes when it comes to installing addons. I did register here a while ago in order to download new aircraft and other items of interest. and I have to say I am impressed with the quality of the content you can download for free here. This however is my first post on the forums. I would like to finish this post with a question if this is a good place for it? After installing weapons pack 3, all weapons for every aircraft seem to have disappeared. Nothing at all is available. I did choose SFP1 as SFG was not an option in the list. If I missed something I would appreciate if someone could point that out to me. Also if this is not the place to ask questions of this nature, might someone point me in the right direction? Thats it, thanks for taking the time to check out this annoying new newb ;)

I got my weapons! In the end I gave up trying to get this weapon pack to work and instead got a much better one with every weapon included, and that works :) Thanks for all the help.

Thanks for the tip MigBuster. I already had two folders with separate installs of SFG so I tried just lifting the weapons folder from the one I installed it into to the other, but that caused the problem to appear in the other install too. No weapons for any aircraft. Not even stock weapons for stock aircraft. I had already updated the game to the latest patch, and the weapons pack I installed was this http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=2672 I tried this onto a clean install too but then SFG would not start up at all, instant crash back to desktop. I installed SFG again on top of the old directory with already existing files and that seems to run now, and stock weapons are available again, but still not the weapons pack weapons, though the directories and files are still there at least. Also I did notice a lot of mentions to weapondata.ini but this file does not exist. Tried using Weapon Data Editor v02.20.08 as suggested in the knowlege base and well I ran into problems when the files I was supposed to fiddle with did not exist. I tried creating a weapondata.ini by copying and pasting lines from the weapondata files included with some other downloaded craft I have not managed to get their weapons to work with, but really I have no idea what I am doing. I guess what I need is someone to treat me like an idiot because I probably am one
