  1. Hi All, I went to the flying legends airshow last saturday, & was very pleased - to say the least, that there were the replica machines as shown below which actually flew in the airshow - although one of the fokkers didnt fly, as they couldnt start the engine!! There was also an 1918 original bleriot XI which also flew. - i have both on video, on my camcorder which i have yet to edit. Did anybody else go to see it? TonyO.
  2. thanks

And without them drinking all your beer
  3. What nationality are you?

Hi Olham My father was austrian - dont know what part , my mother was from london where I was born (city of Westminster - west central london) & have lived here ever since - 43 years man & boy :fans: :drinks_drunk: "Maybe its because im a Londoner - That I love London Town...." :fans: :drinks_drunk:
  4. Hi All, I don't know if any of you read flypast magazine, but an article in the Aug edition showed that theres a new FE2 at the museum, So off I went today to get a few shots of it for you all, I couldnt get as close as I'd have liked, as part of the walkway was cordoned off due to flooding last week, - GRRRRR I've also included some of the shots of the Be2B that they have there also....
  5. How can I tell if my aeroplane is damaged?

It is often so to me, that the German WW2 war machines (aircraft and tanks) in their whole appearance incl. the colouring, remind me somewhat of Spielberg's Tyrannosaurus Rex from "Jurassic Park" - I'm fascinated and have a goose-skin at the same time. And I wouldn't like to be their prey. Hope you understand my feelings. Totally Agree, especially if you found a Tiger tank lurking in the bocage & all you were in was a sherman - I recall a story told by a british tankman about a german tank ace called Wittmann i believe who with his one tiger tank, drove up & down & wiped out a whole column of about 20 british vehicles!!!
  6. "New" FE2 at the RAF museum Hendon

Thanks, They have since moved the old Grahame White aircraft factory brick by brick to its new location in the museum grounds as it was going to be knocked down for housing, they've now put most of the WWI aircraft in there, The Be2b & the Fe2 are in the bomber command section of the museum.. theres about 3 others dotted around the other parts of the museum
  7. OFF Current Status

Excellent News on the aircraft Add-on pack - just tell me where to send the money  I fully understand the need to protect against piracy - I do have a question however, I recently had to replace my Hard drive - my Maxtor went U/s & I had to re-install everything again on a new drive. IF - (perish the thought) this was ever to happen again & i had to re-install everything, could i still use the same Activation code from the e-mail, or would i have to resubmit my details again to get a new one? I thinking of access to any future upgrades or patches on this one. Legion (TonyO)

  17. AVSIM Hacked!

People who do this sort of thing have no brains, & as people have said on this forum why do this to the avsim website? what does it achieve? It certainly isnt something to be proud of - if i got my hands on them, i'd smash their hands so they couldnt use a keyboard again - let alone play with themselves - total W*&nkers
  18. Flyboys

IMHO Flyboys & red Baron sucked, The best films were Blue Max, Aces High & Dawn patrol. - have yet to see wings
  19. Respect to you comic genius's!...I have already thrown in the towel!! Me too! - I have neither the skill nor the time
  20. Great selection of books there Madmatt, The only one on your list that I've read is "aces falling" by peter Hart, The accounts of the war in the air by those who survived, or the letters written by them before they were killed in later actions are first rate. a Very good read. I've just finished "September Evening" by Barry Diggens, which is the first full-length biography ever written on the life & death of the german air ace Werner Voss, it contains some excellent photographs, & the conclusions he draws on some of the aspects of Voss's actions are mostly reasonable & fair. Flying guns World War 1 by A.G.Williams & Dr E.Gustin. This was more of a technical book concerning the development of how Machine guns were fitted to the aircraft & how they & their ammunition were developed during the course of the first world war. it makes interesting reading with excellent photos throughout. STILL TO READ: "First Blitz" by Neil Hanson - it concerns the german plan to raze london to the ground in 1918 it has had good reviews & is my next book to read.. it appears to be a very deeply & well researched book. I'll keep you posted on it when i've finished it
  21. Working my way through the war.

Excellent idea Red, i'm trying something similar at the mo, but by doing it by aircraft type, - i'm flying be2's so when i lose a pilot, i fly another be2 on another squadron.
  22. OFF BH&H, future: Work in Progress

Great News on the works in progress they will make the best flight sim even better (if thats possible!) IMHO - I think its important to include more of the aircraft that were used earlier on in the war when the military were still trying to iron out which roles these new fangled machines would have. although i love the kills & medals aspect of the flight sim, its also about getting the job done, & surviving to the next mission. - i'm flying the be2 at the mo, I'm not going to add my "wishlist" to the debate as it would not be fair to the developers. the wishlists have already been put forward on previous posts even back in the days of P2! so they know what theyre doing. just let me know when the works in progress are ready, & i'll send in the money
  23. Its an excellent peice of work Dej, keep it up! :fans:
