  1. I'm OK with this thread... no need to feel you can't talk about RoF... it was when it was being compared and people were bashing it. That's not what we're about. The info in this thread is very good... a lot of you guys own RoF and some could use the technical info on the SLI'd cards... so it stays.. as long as we only have to fire one shot over the bow as Shred already did.. OvS
  2. Hence why for years I have not refered to him by his name... but by 'Fat Bastard'.
  3. OFF screenshots

Nice work! I like the all blue D.II. Is that a personal mount? @ Rickety... "Some who have posted here are notorious cheerleaders who, I doubt very much, have flown both (Rickitycrate is a prime suspect) so their opinions have no basis." tttiger LOL!! That's funny!! OvS
  4. Hello Javito... What version of OFF are you playing? Between Heaven and Hell or Phase 2? Are you current with all updates? Thanks, OvS
  5. Thanks for the compliment! You rock!
  6. This, and also that the D.VI was a part of a larger 2-prong plan Fokker had... Prong 1 was the D.VI... it was a rotary powered aircraft which would parked at dromes closer to the front, allowing the pilots to get airborne very quickly and intercept the incoming EA's. Prong 2 was the D.VII, which was meant to be the killer and complement the Jastas that intercepted the incoming EA's. It took longer to get airborne, however, was superior to the D.VI. But the idea did not sell too well seeing that they found the D.VII to be superior at all points to the D.VI, so why bother. What Anthony Fokker did instead was to sell the licenses to build the D.VII to OAW and Albatros. So the built them in mass. OvS
  7. Look at that picture! It's like a window into time, complete with open field and all! Can you imagine 5 of those lined up for an afternoon patrol? OvS
  8. Yeah, these guys are simply NOT from this era... they must have built a time-machine and come from the past!!
  9. Yes, I believe it is. Mai was really into the whole 'dazzle' effect, meaning, optical illusions as was the case in his Fokker D.VII. So I would lean towards it being truer than false. :) James
  10. Retreating

A smart man runs, recalculates, and revises his initial decision... Do you know what they call the moron that dies because he doesn't... a hero. I'd rather not be a hero. OvS
  11. WOW!!! Josef Mai would be very proud to see his bird flying again. A Gentleman, an Ace and and the 'working man' of Jasta 5, Mai was respected and very well liked by all members of Jasta 5, even though he did not out rank any of them as a Feldwebel. His promotion to Leutnant took far too long, and because of it, delayed his nomination for the PLM as well... image a high honor like a PLM being given to a Blue Collar working man like a Sergent!! But he finally did, and at 30 victories, he missed his PLM as the war ended. Josef Mai is a personal favorite of mine. :) Not in any order... my top 5 Ernst Udet Josef Mai Eduard von Schleich Josef Jacobs Rudolf Berthold OvS
  12. Keep in mind that I hardly ever get to actually play this game... so I sound like a newbie... sorry.. Last night I was testing the new Jasta 12 Fokker OAW skins, so I took up a campaign with them and off we went on a Balloon busting mission. Lined up were my flight, Besser, Greven, Koch and Bock in the Ace flight with 2 other cronies. 10 total. We go... form up and circle. I didn't use Warp as I wanted to confirm if I could see the markings of the Aces as I flew around with them... so I followed the designated flight path. 3 times around, in a circle, checking my wingmen gaining altitiude, following Greven.. etc. We form up and off we go... to the target. I then used Warp... but we stopped about halfway there for Bogies. They were friendly, so I took the moment to catch up to the ace flight and form up. It took a little while, but we got there, and man, it was cool. All ten of us in a huge clump, flying along... Koch at my right, Bock to the high left... Greven leading the way.... to the target we go in mass. It felt as real as it could be! Greven spotted the target, ordered Koch and Bock to go, they also spotted some Spad XIII's in the area and off they went. I flagged my boys to engage as well... wow a full 10 on 10 furball over the target!!! I break the mele for a moment as I was in front of the Balloon, I get off a few rounds and BOOOM!!! Up she goes! Nice, big explosion!!! The fight continues, I can hear explosions all around and MG's clacking away! The rest is the usual, dodging, banking, turning.... I bagged 2, but lost 2 of my squadies... we're spread all over the sky. I forum up what's left and head home, runnig into the ace flight minus Bock, Besser and 1 wingman. What an awesome game this is!! OvS PS... If you don't already... use a headset... it's 100% better, and easier on everyone else in the house!
  13. MA election

You're right... at least the Borg would have fought back... spineless Lefties.. I can't wait to hear all the Dem campaign promises and empty speeches leading to 11 2010... now they'll all claim they were the first to 'rethink' the plan, and stand behind the new Senator.... etc.. etc... I read a column about what Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) wants at all airports to beef-up security... and laughed... what he listed has already been in place for years... what rock has he been living under... even the writer picked that up. OvS
  14. Nah... I don't see anything wrong with a little plublicity for a friend. We're all in this WWI thing together... land .. sea ... and air. Looks like a real deep (pardon the pun) game! Nice work. Nothing better than a game that pulls you in mentally, and challeges you to really put forth some effort. Great job Bullet. Thanks for posting it. OvS
  15. *WARNING* A$$hole alert!

Yeah true, but we could do it remotely... that's more fun ... then call him on the cell laughing at him..
  16. MA election

The 2nd Shot heard 'round the world.... The Borg Menace formally known as The Democratic National Party just took a major hit. Amazing that all it needed was one hit to take it down. Goes to show you how biased and corrupted the Congress is/was. 1 man, 1 vote and now the Dems are giving quotes to the press that we should 'rethink' the whole Healthcare revamp. I'm sure this would not have been the case if Coakly had won. What I don't understand, is what the hell the big push was to ram it down our throats in the first place. I can't even imagine the chaos that would have been in place had we really changed our system.... paperwork, computer system, insuranse cards... phone calls... good God. The Dems made it sound like it would be as easy as starting a new car. OvS
  17. *WARNING* A$$hole alert!

Personally I'd love to see us torment him with an EA-6B Prowler... how much fun would that be... "Hey Chavez... Great Supreme Ruler of Venezuela... look at your city ... Lights on.. lights off.. lights on... lights off... isn't that cool?" LOL! OvS
  18. WHERE IS THE DROOL SMILEY!!!!! WOW!!! OvS
  19. *WARNING* A$$hole alert!

Hmmm... maybe the 'nice boys' over at Gitmo can help dig? Prison Labor.. a thing of the past that needs to come back. OvS
  20. LOL! I agree! So what are you working on? @ Olham Sure I'll pass that on... she'll get a kick out of for sure. I used to be in the doghouse with my work, but now I manage it so that it does not interfere with anything. For instance... on the Florida vacation I just took, we spent a week at my Mother-in-Law's house. She wanted to go clothes shopping (which is an ALL DAY AFFAIR!!!!) and I didn't... I offered to watch my daughter and my niece while my wife and her sister went out... so I worked on the OAW template all day... uninteruppted while the kids had a ball... a win win. At night, I make sure all is done, all homework checked, help around the house and off I go to 'work'. So it's a little bit of effort to make sure she knows I help out, do my honey-do list.. and still have time for a kiss on the cheek and tickling my daughter till she pukes. It all balances... it has to, otherwise I'd be in 'D'-court faster than lighting through a tree. OvS
  21. Nice work in Photoshop Morris... I like the way you made the three monitors look like... oh wait.. oh.... that's real isn't it...
  22. This is just a spot for your MP missions just in case you wish other to use them, tweak them.. etc... and need a place to store them.
  23. *WARNING* A$$hole alert!

Wait till the bill is signed... then talk taxes. I think I got the left and right mixed.... I'm a conservative/independent... is that far right? Like I said, Obama is no better than any other President when it comes to being truthful... closed door decision on Health Care, Ear Mark/Pork Barrel spending... bribing Senators for their vote... it's all there under his administration, just like it was years and years before. He's no better than Bush, as was sold to the populous... he just has better speaches. Bush would have been standing in Haiti already... Obama will be there after the smell dissapates a little, and the golf course is fixed. Anyhow... Haiti is what it is, but really, the USA should not be the savior for them... help, hell yes, but to dump in all kinds of money, efforts...etc.. when there are still big issues in our own yard is really a slap in the face for long suffering individuals inside the USA. OvS
  24. But ! Who the hell is Average Joe ?!

Joe the Plummer GI Joe Just your average Joe. The name Joe is used probably because it's a very common name, and has a nice common sound to it.. unlike 'Average Mike' or 'Average Tom'. It's just slang... Like this.... although it's a childish cartoon... but it ties in all the slang we tend to use nicely. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ot92Yfovvvg
  25. *WARNING* A$$hole alert!

I don't agree with everything Rush says, nor should anyone agree 100% with ANYTHING any of these opinion givers say... Left or Right... BUT... In this country, the press has gone full-swing to the right, so much so that anything anyone Conservative says (Dem, Rep, Ind, or TEA) they bash the hell out of it, twist it and comment on it so much that it reverses the meaning of freedom of speech. Well... I have to say... it is starting to change a little... thanks CSPAN! :) Truth is, the awake USA went in a direction it did not see coming based on Acorn, and a few other politically motivated groups that tainted the voter base. They took people that had no idea who Obama was, but saw his ethnenticity and said (quoted from quite a few of the people I work with here at JFK) .. wow, we can make history here... We elected a president based on wanting to get away from another... in 'hope' that 'change' was good for the USA... well.. nothing has changed. A year later, and blame is still being passed.. and nothing has changed... health care that I don't want, and can't afford to pay in taxes... and more taxes... same old politics.. Bush, Clinton, Obama.. whomever. But back to Rush... he's wrong here, dead wrong, but the underlying point is true... we are giving SO much to Haiti, yet there are STILL people in the Houston/New Orleans area that are out in the cold, were promised the world and got nothing. This president went there, for all of 40 min on a political stop, and said nothing. Could Haiti be used as a political statement... you're a fool if you don't think so. Any natural disaster can make or break a political leader... ask Bush with 9/11 (He was GOD after that) and Katrina (he was a total jackass after that). There are thousands of people out of work across the USA.... there are hundreds living under bridges, and in back alleys... with no sign of change in the future. Yet we poor 100 million into a country that was decimated even before the Earthquake happened... what about China when they had theirs, or Italy... suddendly Haiti is the center of the world effort to help out... which is fine, no doubt... but one should not be more important than the other. You and I see it as getting our gloves on and helping the human race, but that's a working man's view... a politician doesn't see things that way... they see the potential in the long run come voting time... hey Haitian Americans... remember me... vote for xx in 2012! :) So, that being said... I'll take my beating... but truthfully, not being narcasistic I don't think I am far from the truth in what I am saying... I read a lot from both sides of the fence, and I never vote my party, I vote for the candidate that I feel will suite my needs. OvS
