It called DDSview... you drop it into your \skins folder, and literally scroll with the mouse scroll. It's very fast, however, it degrades the quality of the skins by over half. But it's only for viewing anyway... OvS

Called "Jasta 10" The movie stars Bill Murray as the high scoring ace Werner Voss, and his 'partner in crime' free-spirited side-kick and airplane designer Anthony Fokker played by Dennis Quaid. Jasta 10 is a funny comedy about what happens to two lowly bakery clerks when they sign-up for pilot school in mid-1917 WWI and somehow end-up with the elite front line German squadron Jasta 10. Watch as Fokker designs a three winged triplane and allows Voss to take it up for a spin, never realizing Voss has no idea how to fly it... Hey Tony... IT'S PORKED!! OvS

Dude! That was great!!! And so true... unlike the Palin video. Loved this quote from the article too... "... it is nice to see the folks at "SNL" continuing to bash the man NBC helped become President. Exit question: Will CNN and other so-called news outlets fact-check this skit?" OvS

Tell me... why is it silly.... instead of 6 friends sitting at a table someone's basement, you now have 6 friends hooked-up via the internet sitting in their own basements... or via a LAN in 1 basement on separate computers... how is it lonely? You put on a headset and communicate with all the other players via teamspeak or equivelent.... sometimes the people on your team are people you work with that form a clan. I don't see your point calling it silly. Instead of using your imagination, you are using a mouse to manipulate your character in front of you in a virtual world that is "alive". Instead of rolling the dice to determine the outcome... the computer does it for you with the same calculations based on tables, HP's... etc.. etc.. etc... It's the same thing... just with better technology. Hence why these games are called 'Real Time' as the moves are done at the same time, and not in turns as it used to be on computer games and D&D modules back in the 80's. Point is back in the 80's there were quite a few reports of people killing themselves because they lost they're level whatever fighter, or cleric... or lost a tournamnet... marriages were lost over D&D addictions... look it up... it was the same result. Hi HD... welcome to OFF! To purchase OFF, simply click on our banner above, go to our website and click the 'Buy' button. In the USA, it should not take more than 7 business days, depending on how close you live to Cali. I'm in NY, so it took 6 days... yes, even though I am on the Dev Team, I bought my own as we all did... it's good luck. BHaH is the latest version, and most up-to-date Phase of the 3 that we did. The previous two phases were freeware, and are still available via DVD request from other Community members. BHaH will take CFS3 and transform it completely with seamless transition from the OFF Manager, directly into the game, unlike previous versions. Plus the list of features is enormous in comparison to our other previous freeware phases. The only download he'll have to make will come directly from our website for the latest Patch of BHaH. So keep that in mind, once it's loaded... update it. As any good dev team does, we work very hard to keep it updated and bug-free. As far as being a good pilot... it takes time, and time.. and more time. I am not very good either, so don't fret. I wouldn't stand a chance against half the guys on this forum! All the best, and tell your Brother-in-Law to join the forum... plenty of help and good people here... no loons!! OvS

It's the "Chaos Therory" at work... you know a butterfly flaps it's wings... etc. The huge Glaciers melt.. the water has to go somewhere... either into the atmosphere as water vapor, or into the ocean as water, either way, matter only changes it's state, it does not disappear. Here in Long Island, the south shore beaches are smaller, the Salt Marshes in the Great South Bay are slowly disappearing at high-tide, there is very little room from the parking lot to the ocean beach... it's all changing. Sure, we can call it cyclical, we can call it Global Warming (Climate Change)... but whatever you call it... it's changing, faster than ever before. It simply becomes more shocking to those that have not experienced any effects, then suddenly there is a lot of rain, flooding... errosion, mud-slides.. then it's the same quote... 'first time in history this happened here..." etc. Meanwhile, it's been slowly happening everywhere. Where heading for something big, but what... who knows. But the Earth is definitely changing. OvS

From the article you posted.... "Divorce A Californian woman, 28, who identified herself as “Jocelyn” told Yahoo Games that she divorced her husband of six years after he spent all his free time on World of Warcraft. Jocelyn ended her relationship with her husband, Peter, by explaining to him: “I’m real, and you’re giving me up for a fantasy land. You’re destroying your life, your six-year marriage, and you’re giving it up for something that isn’t even real” " I have to agree with the wife... being a developer for OFF (well a skinner and soundman really) and RB3D, there had to be a point where it stopped and needed to be scheduled into my life like taking out the trash. When I played MMP in RB3D, it was a 3+ hour commitment from start to finish. Certainly not something that bodes well with any wife/girfriend if you do it every night or twice a week like I did. But my point is this... these are games, and should never be taken for anything more than that. Our ability to interact with the Real World changes, and our relationships suffer when it consumes us. It's just a game, and that's all it will ever be. Like she says, if you're willing to loose a marriage, a life, and everything you worked for so you can be the best at something that means nothing... you have a very serious problem. Games are as addicting as drugs/alcohol. Those that have trouble socializing can easily become something they are not in the real-world, and that is popular or even powerful. But no matter what, it's a shame to loose a human being like this. Remember back in the 70's and early 80's the phenomenon of Dungeons & Dragons? This is worse, and on a much broader scale. Hey, I have no issue with getting together with the guys and racking up some kills on OFF MP, or COD2... but I won't loose my marriage or the relationship with my daughter over it... ever. All the best, and thanks for posting that article.. it's a VERY good point and should be taken very seriously. OvS

Good one for the OFF Knowledge Base!

Widow, this goes back to my point about how lame we fight wars now... we go in, kick-some butt for the TV and folks back home, and to justify the 'muscle flexing', then we get bogged down with policy, humanitarian aid, policing... etc.. etc. As far as the ROE's go... if the enemy even points a stick at you they should be shot. We'll never with this 'war' this way. Korea, Viet Nam, The Gulf War.... all based on the same dumb principles. OvS

Aye!! I second that motion! A fantastic series, very well made, and historically accurate.

Next thing you know they'll be remaking: WarGames... ET... Close Encouters... Polergeist... Then we can toss the XBox and PS3's, and go back to Intellivisions, Atari's and Commodore 64's all over again...

If she were still alive, I could see her doing something like this with a Tommy Gun... I haven't a clue what this woman is saying, so if it offends anyone... let me know... obviously it's fake and stages with blanks... OvS

Just by total chance on Youtube. I figured she was Greek... or Crete. I knew she wasn't Italian or Sicilian as I did not recognize anything she was saying, yet it sounded like Latin. She handles that MP5 like a champ!

Because it's only fair that your luggage get a free trip to where IT wants to go, rather than where you think it should be... At least we take care of our planes...

Gents, Just a reminder to mark your calendars for the National Geographic Channel special on November 17, 9PM entitled "Hunt for the Samuri Subs". http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/episode/hunt-for-the-samurai-subs-4577/Overview This show will no doubt be special to anyone interested in WWII Japanese submarines, deep sea diving and technology. Starring none other than the OFF Communiy's Terry Kerby, who heads the Deep Sea Operations at the Hawaii University Reasearch Lab (HURL). Terry is affectionately known to us as Makai and has done some amazing work on OFF:BHaH. He is responsible for skinning the DFW C.IV/V, Pfalz D.III, Alb D.II, Fokker Dr.1 and worked with me on the Fokker D.VII series of aircraft skins as well. Please take the time to watch the show, it certainly will be worth the time spent in the chair other than the one that flies in OFF. ;) The show will focus on exploring deep into the Pacific Ocean off the coat of Oahu Island to seek out the I-400 and I-401 class Japaneese attack subs. These two submaries are recorded as the worlds largest Diesel powered craft ever to be built at a jaw-dropping 400+ feet long each. They allowed the for the storage of 3 dive bomber type floatation aircraft to be released from a hanger built into the conning tower. The plan for these subs was to attack a major U.S. naval base in the Pacific. But these subs were promptly handed over to the US Navy shortly after Japan signed the documents declaring surrender and ending WWII. The subs were then tested and inspected by the US Navy and scuttled shortly afterward when Russian Scientists demanded access to them. The show will bring you up and close with computer generated models of the original submarine designs, re-enactments, and actual footage from the subs piloted by Terry. Nat Geo will take you on board the main support vessel that carries the subs across the ocean to the diving site as well... so we'll get to see what life is like for Terry out at sea. Like any other show Nat Geo does, this one promises to be outstanding! So please, grab the kids and some popcorn and enjoy the show next week. I know I will... Terry has been telling me about this show for the past 2 years and I'm thrilled to finally see it for myself.... and of course him on TV. All the best, OvS PS... "I Love Makai" T-shirts will be for sale via a website I will post shortly after the show...

November 17 Reminder.... Nat Geo Samurai Subs
OvS replied to OvS's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
No problem... if you have any questions for Terry, PM to me. I'll be in touch with him while he's out to sea this month, but he won't be on the forum much as he has to us a satellite uplink to communicate. I'm sure he'll be very happy to hear that you enjoyed it. It really was a great show. The only thing I was hoping for was more interview time with Terry, but that's not what the show was about. They really got the job done right! OvS
