  1. OT: Attention Fantasy RPG Fans

Sell EVERYTHING.... yes, you can improve it, enchant it and everything, but sell it. I am down to keeping 3 weapons, and a few potions. Make and sell jewlery, sell scrolls, sell old armor... steal armor and sell it... sell lesser enchanted weapons.... etc. You get the point. My main weapons.... Chillrend - fast and frozen... an awesome sword found in Riften. (you have to find it, why ruin it. ;) ) Elven Mace of Soul Trap - a 28 damage self-named enchanted weapon I made. Great for recharging soul gems. Black Bow of Nordic Frost - another seld-named enchanted weapon - a 26 Damage bow with +12 damage of frost added. Dragonbane - a must have for killing Dragons. Very fast, and very powerful +20 lighting strike to all dragon types. Useless weapons.... anything 2-handed. The monsters/enemies are too fast in this game to not have a sheild with blocking capacity. By the time you wind-up and swing... you're dead. Staffs that conjure elementals... they don't last long enough in fights and don't do enough damage. Again, back to the 2-handed note. You need to be swinging something powerful in order to live in close-combat. All lower class, non-enchanted bows - Nordic, Orc, Hunting, Long... sell. Keep and enchant anything Dwarven and up. Anything the Foresworn use - ugly and pointless weapons. Sell... but hey.. the chics are freakin' smokin hot!! Anything the Dragaur/skeletons use that is not enchanted. Best weapons... hard to say... but the Falmer have the best Shields, easy to fing and can be improved to be even better. Anything Elven - enchant it as well. These are easy to come by other than the Glass and Ebony stuff. Plus the weapons are light, unlike.... anything Dwarven - good weapons, but freakin' heavy!!! Everything they make is God-aweful heavy. If you are a fighter... dump the Dwarven armor as fast as possible. Ebony and Glass - much harder to find, and is usually found on 'level bosses' (hate using that word in an RPG). But if you find it, enchant it for an all-out ass-kickin' piece. Nightingale Bow - really nice bow. I finally put it aside to Lydia when I found the Ebony bow. Chillrend - fantastic sword that paralizes as well as slashes for +20 frost damage. I wear: +15% 1-handed attacks on Blade Gauntlets +30% Block on an Ebony Shield +20 to Heavy Armor on Superior Blade Armor +30% Frost Resist on my boots +15% Destruction Cast saving on my Steel Helmet Even though this game really pushes you to the Mage/Thief class, I am still holding fast as a true Warrior/Fighter class. I have the Nightingale armor hanging in my Manor in Solitude, and have completed the 'return key' quest... but I still prefer to just bash the sh!t out of everything. All the best...

How do you get her in the pink? I have the same mod, but I take her armor and she defaults to that annoying Steel armor. I married her, and we own a Manor in Solitude, and the Breezhouse in Whiterun.. with 40K in the bank (100 a day profit on her shop), we're kickin' ass. I let her stay home now, and it would be nice to leave her walk in the birthday suit. LOL! I've seen her pinks when she was dead... I'm convinced this game was designed by a bunch of under-sexed 20somethings... Man, she's built real nice! BTW.. as a true Nord... I'm cheating on her as well... some smokin' hot new housecarl from my Thane status in Solitude is statisfing my 'need' while on adventures... while my lovely wife rolls in dough back home. I drop off the new girl at the Manor, and head back to Whiterun to spend time with the wife now and then. Shame this is all fake... LOL!
  3. Albatros BII

The B.II was a very well designed and liked plane for it's purpose and time-frame. In that early era, pilots did not fly for combat, they flew for information. It was not until Garros attached the rife that it became for combat. Before then, the observer carried a rife, and tried to shoot at other observation planes with little success. There were no aerial combat tactics, no MG's mounted, no sense of fear other than the plane falling apart. The side grates are radiators as you have pointed out. Again, no need to worry as no one was shooting at them... until the interrupter gear and Lewis gun game into play for the Entente... but by then the Huns were flying the C.III, Aviatiks, Rumplers, DFW's and other better machines than this one. I wish we could have the Alb B.I and B.II, even though it did not last long, it would be a lot of fun to just do observation flights with no combat to worry about. Just flying. Knock the B.II, but I'd take it any day over that death trap Cauldron G.III/G.IV any day of the week. ;) All the best, OvS

She is sitting at the something 'Mare' Taven in Whiterun. It's the Tavern within the circle where all the merchants are. She's freakin' huge, and ugly. Like a nasty biker chic. You have to fight her first, then she will offer her services.

Some photos of me and Lydia across Skyrim... and yes... I married her. ;) We own a Manor in Solitude, and a small summer Breezehouse in Windhelm. Great game. Lydia has nice armor eh? And that's her getting hammer by a Frost Dragon. We took it down shortly after. You can keep the thief girls... Lydia is my type... hackin' and slashin' all over Skyrim. The Dragon and Spider went at it for a little while. It was fun to watch. Back to working on Phase 4. All the best.
  6. I thought Herm would be #1 with his 'Play to win the game' rant... but hey.. he made it twice. It was something new every week with that guy.... he was nuts... but entertaining to watch on TV. J..E..T..S... JETS JETS JETS.... no better chant in all of sports than to hear 60+K fans quiet to a pin drop and scream that all at once with Fireman Ed running the show... it really rocks!!

If you guys want to see something funny... go to Riverwood, and kill a chicken... Jesus, these people are REALLY sensitive about their chickens. I get the feeling it's a PETA camp incognito...
  8. I've known about this one for a few years, but it's funny as hell. My brother-in-law and I still poke each other with quotes from it... "Are you Jeff Vader?" Great Stuff
  9. OT: Attention Fantasy RPG Fans

Jeeze you guys are rough on Lydia. I'll get Fraps loaded and take a screen shot of us. I'm just like she is, I walk into everything, set off traps, no sneaking... etc. Like I own the f'n place. Basically my character is built like an NFL defensive linemen, and I carry enough weapons on me to wipe out all of Riften in one sweep. ;) I'll stick with her till the end... although she'll probably get us there sooner. LOL! Seriously though, this game is amazing. I hope more games use this new technology and get out of the same scripted crap we see all the time. Far Cry 2 was like this as well. You could do anything and go anywhere in that game, but it was still not anywhere near as random as this is. All the best, OvS
  10. OT: Attention Fantasy RPG Fans

Wow... she's insane! Lydia is more like me. I'll have to get fraps and take a screen shot. Standing next to each other we look like twins aside from being M/F. I'll have to save my perks and work on the smithing and enchanting characteristics. I'd like to be able to weild better weapons and enchant them as well... or at least enchant the ones I have. I'm wearing the Blades armor, and I use an even mace for now along with an elven bow. I gave her a Nord Bow of Fear, and a Dwarven sword. I'm not too good with all the magic stuff... it's smash and bash the whole way for me. ;) If I start another character though, it will be a theif for sure. There is too much stuff to steal and cash in walking through this game. For now, I want to follow the story. Where the hell do you sell stuff anyway. Every shop I enter only wants me to buy from them.
  11. OT: Attention Fantasy RPG Fans

Dude... you dumped Lydia?? Never... she's a freakin' tank! And has a nice voice too. I accidentially killed her once with the Force shout. She was in the blast pattern while I was getting hammered. I actually felt bad. I think I am taking this all too seriously. LOL! Great game. How do you take screen shots?
  12. OT: Attention Fantasy RPG Fans

I agree. I can't say that with many games, certainly not with any of the CoD MW series (biased I know, but those games are beyond anything realistic).... but this one is definately worth the pocket coin. It's so damn random that you simply become part of the game. You have no idea what is going to happen next, there is no time limit on completing tasks. Which means you can be offered a job, and put it aside to do some personal exploring, then come back to it. The whole game basis is completely wide open. There are no rules, and nothing stopping you from doing what you want. Sure it's not the 2nd coming of Christ, but for gamers, this one is what we've been waiting for. Plus, the game is never the same twice. Even if you die, and come back to the same point, it's different. Now, if they could incorporate this graphical engine/game style into a FPS WWII game... that would be awesome! Slogging through France on foot with the 1st Inf, just going from town to town... no boundries, missions to complete, but totally unscripted... etc. Wow... that would be ultimate. :) OvS
  13. OT: Attention Fantasy RPG Fans

Wow... Hellshade.. you suck!! I'm now totally addicted to this game! It's by far the most beautiful, emmense, graphically pleasing game I have ever played on a computer ... period!! Being a very old D&D player from when I was 10-13 (I'm 42 very soon), I longed for a RPG game that was not complicated to get into (nothing like the Ultima games from C-64 days), and fun to play! Man-o-man did I strike it rich with this one! I can't get over the graphics inside and out. The caves are incredible, the traps, the enemies you randomly run into...all the undead, all of it. It's like something right out of the TSR's Dungeon Master's handbook. All fluid and random, nothing is scripted. I can't get over this game. I'm a huge FPS game fan and I love all the WWII/COD games, but everything is totally scripted. There is a definate flow you have to follow, otherwise the game waits for you... but this... wow.. like nothing I have ever seen/played before. The waterfalls, the trees, the paths you walk along ... all amazing. I like to just walk through it, like I do when I go for nature walks around Long Island. The autum scenery is breathtaking. My wife (the anti-gamer) was even shocked when she looked over my shoulder to see what I was playing. Then I told her, watch this... I can actually run to that moutain in the distance. Of course as I was doing this.. .I ran into a horde of frost-spiders and she ran away in fear as she hates spiders... and in Skyrim, they look f'n real close-up. At any rate... thanks a million for posting this game. Without you mentioning it, I never would have known about it! My character 'Conan' ... as we all seem to reflect all of our inner selves when we create them ... Lvl 11 Nord Fighter/Mage.... built like a tank, bash everything, harldy use magic other than enchanted weapons. By companion is a woman, I forget her name, Leyla, or something. She was 'awarded' to me by the Jarl of Solitude. Smokin' hot, full gear, built like an Amazon, and kicks-a$$ like one too. Maybe I'll have my character marry her in the end... seems fitting. We've been through a lot, and hopefully she stays the whole game. It's a lot of fun. We recently fought a Dragon on top of mountain... it was pretty intense. The bastard kept straffing us with fire, back and forth and would not land. When it did, we both beat the crap out of it. Even the look and sight of the Dragons are intense in this game. They obviously took the needed time to model everything correctly by movement, and shape. When one flies over-head, it gives you the feeling of being totally helpless, waiting for it to breath fire, or ice. It's amazing how it's body twists and snakes around with it's long spiked tail, and serpent body, so fluid and life-like. It's almost impossible to shoot one when it's flying. I read that an etire team of developers was dedicated soley to making the Dragons in Skyrim. And it shows. I hate killing them... but it's my job.. nothing personal. LOL! All the best and lost in Skyrim! OvS
  14. A little bit out of the WWI era, but I just put this together out of sheer boredom and a need to take a break.... If you like Rush, and a little NASA history, you should really enjoy this. :)
  15. Please comment more on the OAW style being wrong. If you have historical information that can back this statement, please share it, and if there is time, corrections can/will be made to the best I can. Thanks, OvS
  16. By no means is this new to anyone that has been doing it for the past 10+ years... like me... but if you haven't tried it, I'd be happy to help on this forum thread. Please don't PM asking for ROMs. You can find them very easily out there, mostly on ROMNATION.com. I have been doing this for well over 10 years now and started on what's called Muliti Arcade Machine Emultor, or MAME for short. I loved it so much that when I finally bought my house in 2000, one of the first projects I did for my wife and I was to build a fully functional arcade machine, to fit the PC running MAME. 10 years later, I have refurbished/converted two more arcade machines (or MAME cabinets as they are formally known as in the MAME world). From that point on, and prior to it, I used several for NES, Atari 2600/5200/7800, Commodore 64, Amiga, SNES, Sega, heck.. .even Channel F!! So with that, if anyone is interested, I can help out by starting a short list of game systems and very good emulators that you can use to play all those old games again, right from a portable thumb drive! Known good emultors are in bold letters and readily available for free out on the i-net. Commodore 64 - CCS64 roms can be found at www.c64.com however, they are missing a lot, and some don't work. But a very good starting point. Amiga - UAE or winFellow - you need to get the kickstart roms (they're out there too) Intellivision - Nostalgia - you need the GROM and EXEC roms to run it... and the intellivoice rom to play the 4 intellivoice games Atari 2600 - MESS Atari 5200 - MESS Atari 7800 - MESS Colecovision - MESS (there is another emulation available, but I find MESS to be the easist to config and use. NES - Nesticle or MESS - good luck with finding roms, NES tightened the clamp, but they're still out there. SNES - Znes or MESS - same as NES for roms Dragon's Lair - Daphne or MAME - you need more files and the original DVD game available at http://www.digitalle...VDRom_games.htm ALL arcade games - MAME latest version is 138u3. old DOS games (yes, you can play Monkey Island again!!! Or even Wings of Glory!!) - DosBox - games are out there on abandonwarz sites all over the place. Well that's a really good start... OvS
  17. Skin Download reorganization

nbryant beat me to the punch.... There really is no better way to break it down but by 'Alliance' and plane type. Use his list above and build from there. Even countries like GB, France and Belgium that shared crates should still be listed under Entente and N.17... etc.
  18. If anyone is interested, go out and buy any of the LEGO games like Harry Potter 1-4, or even better the Indiana Jones, or Star Wars games. They are a ton of fun to play with your kids on the Wii, PS3, Xbox, or even the PC. Often we buy these console games and watch the kids play from the doorway, or behind the couch and off they go, into thier own world... but with these games, they are fun and challenging to play even for adults, and don't require you to grow extra digits on your hands to play. But what is most fun about these games, especially the Indy, and Star Wars versions is that you can beat the crap out of each other now and then just for fun. So it allows your kids to have a sense of 'level playing field' with Dad. Much like flying a kite, fishing, having a catch... it's just another way to say.. hey.. 'we can connect here' rather than loosing touch. All the best, OvS
  19. or this... I can definately see myself doing this.... even better... at mark 2:05 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AhChXppBRM&feature=related Love this stuff!!! OvS
  20. The IJ2 game is the most fun. It does not follow a specific path so to speak, it follows the movie in individual little 'towns' connected to one hub world. But once each town is unlocked, you can freely move about the whole hub world and do as you please... which of course creates the scenario of 'cat and mouse' for my daughter and I. It's a whole new game to us at that point, kinda like Inspector Cluseu and Kato from the Pink Panther movies... just pummelling each other from one town to the other in the hub world. Tons of laughs for both of us.
  21. windows 7 64 bit

Well, now that we've just hi-jacked this thread... how does it handle FSX? I'm still running FSX on XP, and I get those annoying memory crashes about 1 hour into flight around anywhere congested like NYC, Boston... etc.
  22. windows 7 64 bit

Thanks Hellshade, I actually have the same set-up as you, including Mobo, so that GTX580 might be in my future. What did you use to cool the CPU when you overclocked it? I'll be happy to take those instructions from you. :) OvS
  23. windows 7 64 bit

Parky, How about AVG and ZoneAlarm. I use those and seem to have good success with them, but other than a few websites, I don't surf too much. Also, they both do the annoying nag screens to get you to upgrade. I know it's all free, but it's annoying as hell when software does that. On a site note... above me uncleal mentions his 'antiquated' GTX260... well... I ...er .. have the same card. ;) What is a good replacement for my system. I am greatfully enjoying that i7 Quad core still, and would love to over clock it now as I still have it running at default. I've enjoyed my rig since the day you offered the advice on it, and have never looked back. But 2 years is a life-time and I'd like to upgrade to Win7 64, with some more memory, and a better vid card for Flight Sim X and OFF... and whatever else I toss at it, which has not been much lately. Love the BIA series games, but they're old now... and the COD games are getting annoying with the same thoughtless, renegade killing with no attention to tactitcs whatsoever. All the best, OvS
