  1. Winder is spot on. There is no bias in OFF, in fact, as he already pointed out, I am always reminding him about how important the Huns are, so it's a very even balance and he's done a superior job in keeping it that way. Even us introducing the the E.V gave way to the idea of balancing it with the Snipe. If one get one, the other has to. As far as the squadrons... it's a known fact that the Entente flew with more pilots and planes, that were less skillful as the Huns. The Huns flew in smaller packs (Kettes) but used superior tactics and advantages when they had them. As the war raged on though, the Huns became more defensive in nature and less agressive. So I feel the missions are correct. I should expect to see a lot more Entente when I fly as a Hun... but now and then, I should still see a large grouping of Huns now and then, especially when the JG's were formed. OvS PS... Eventhough I approach all assigned skinning jobs the same, I wear a specific t-shirt/baseball hat combo that says 'Huns Rule!' whenever I am skinning Hun planes.
  2. Considering I work for a major international carrier, and I am a licensed commercial aircraft mechanic.... I nearly pissed my pants!!! That was the BEST one yet! AirHitler! That was fantastic. Who wants to fly to JFK anyway! Awesome and very well thought! Thanks for making a really good one. Some of these are terrible. What did you use to make the subtitles? OvS
  3. Shortly after BOB was released, at the time, I was doing some research on my Uncle Biaggio's 82nd Airborne campaings during the '2' (as he called WWII). The more I spoke to him and got in touch with a lot of his old war buddies, the more emotional and deeper each story became. I had 1 relative that was in WWI, 10 in the '2', 3 in Korea (my Dad), 2 in Nam, and 1 that was in the First Gulf War. So saying I am from a wholly Military family is an understatement. But most intreaging was having the pleasure of talking with my Uncle Biaggio, as the rest from WWII are dead, aside from my Uncle Angelo. He was stationed in Burma, and opertated with a unit in the USAF, supplying troops in the jungles on China. His escort squadron was non-other then the Flying Tigers. So he's quite an interesting story teller. ;) As for my Unlce Biaggio... talking with him was an experience in itself. Hearing him tell me of 'the drop' and the heavy action he incurred shortly after that was a real eye-opener. But seeing simialr action payed out on the screen in such detail during BOB helped me to truly understand the hell these men went through, and the intese sacrafices they endured on foreign soil, far from home, and not having single sense of what else to do other than stick together, support each other and stay alive. Two quotes from my Uncle that will forever stick with me.... Number 1: Landing in Normandy. Q: OK, Unk, so after the long trip down through all the tracers, and flak.. you hit the ground, drop the chute, duck down... what's the first thing that popped into your mind. A: Well.. all I could think of was... "what the F*#K am I doing here?!?!" Number 2: Normandy, first sitting of a Tiger tank. Q: Wow, a Tiger? What did it look like to you? Had you ever seen one before? A: No, we were only told that they were big. Big was wrong, it was f'n massive. The biggest machine I've ever seen. Scared the hell out of us. Q: So you rasied up the bazooka, and fired it at the Tiger, it bounced off, no damage. Then what? A: I turned to my CO, and said: "OK, now what?" As you can see... sarcasim runs deep in my family. 4. update german last names

Creaghorn, Just post where the file needs to go as many users will not know where to post it. Also... stop changing your avatar!!! I liked the one of you standing in color the best. It has a certain animated character to it, like you were surveying the runners on 1 and 2, with 2 out in the bottom of the 8th, and the relief pitcher behind in a 2-2 squeeze, looking to hold a 3-2 win.
  5. So we got any Bikers out there....

Had: 1983 CB650 1985 Nighthawk 750 1996 Honda Magna recently sold in 2003 No more riding for me until I retire to a place that is no where near as congested as this hell-hole called Long Island. I don't want my daughter calling anyone else 'Daddy'. All the best, OvS PS... My next ride WILL be a Road King.
  6. Hey Ohlam... check out the history of the town I grew up in.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lindenhurst%2C_New_York Crazy huh. What they didn't mention is that old Lindy was also a huge Brewery town and at one time had the most bars/pubs per square mile than any other town/city in the US. The locals called the main road Wellwood Ave, which passes through the heart of Lindy, "Whiskey Walk". If you could start on the 'walk' and hit every bar, taking 1 shot at each, you were lucky to make it to next main crossroad, Hoffman Ave (that's halfway) still standing. Then you took a 'deadman's walk a faith' across Hoffman, to continue on the walk. It was a common local's attraction and all the bars knew you were doing 'the walk' when you asked them for a 'shot on the avenue tonight'. It was fun back in the 80's, but many of the bars are gone, so the 'walk' is gone too. Yeah... old 'Swindlehurst' where I grew up was quite an interesting town in Long Island. All the best, OvS
  7. I know the feeling. I had the same issue with "Blackhawk Down". I could not watch the whole movie knowing what happened there was a waste of time, resourese and more importantly, good men. OvS
  8. Thanks Arto, I'll look for in on Amazon! I've seen Stalingrad, which was German made and was a fantastic movie. Probably one of the best and most authentic. So I'm sure this one will be the same. Just from the silly parody's it looks very good.
  9. Books, books, books

My 2-cents... Sagitarrius Rising The Red Baron - Peter Killduff version Wings aka Diary of an Aviatior Those are very good especially Wings. It's an actual diary from an American aviatior in WWI who started early in the war. It's actually illustrated by Elliot White Springs who was a close friend of the author. It might be hard to find though. OvS
  10. Don't hate me for this... ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cKtFhArBps...=PL&index=8
  11. Race Card Back Fired

That was great! Thanks for posting it!
  12. Race Card Back Fired

Exactly... there's only Anglo-Saxon, or white. Last I checked, about an hour ago when I left the bathroom and saw my face, I wasn't Anglo-Saxon, so why should I be on any form. BTW... what the hell is the definition of Anglo-Saxon anyway? OvS
  13. you know what... you're 100% right. I didn't of it that way. I have no clue what he is shouting about, so to me it's hysterical seeing the subtitles. I think the one with the Patriots loosing the Super Bowl, and the one Where Hitler's XBox breaks are truly comical in every sense the subtitles can toss at you, but still, if I knew what he was saying, I don't think I would be laughing either. BTW... what movie is this? Is there an English subtitiled version? I have a huge collection of WWII movies, I'd love to add this one if it's any good? From what I can see, the acting looks very good. Thanks, OvS
  14. I'm back finally!

Helpless people on subway trains scream bug-eyed as he looks in on them... Oh no... there goes Tokyo... Go Go Godzilla!! Whee-ooo! Nice to have you back! OvS
  15. It's OK, I don't see it as advertising. At first glance you do, but the rest of the topic and the following threads are not about RoF. I totally see his point. I can imagine RoF costing a ton of money if you want to fill the skies with planes. It looks as though it's going to focus on 1918 only. Which is sad as you loose the 1917 era of the Pup vs D.III, and Spad vs D.V dogfights... amoungst a few. This is like FSX and expanding it. You can spend a serious amount of cash making FSX look like it does in some of the screenshots you see. Beteen the scenery, the planes, the cloud patchs... extra airports.... wow... it can really add up. For an inital cost of $50 - $60 for FSX, by the time you have all the goodies running and working... it's well over $200. I see RoF following a similar path with the costs. At least they're keeping the planes at what $7.50 a pop? That's not too bad, but after 10 planes, you're already at $75 plus $50 for the game. We offer it now at $29.99 and you get the whole war, from 1914-1918. Not bad at all. OvS OvS
  16. If that Magpie had guns, the R/C would have been toast.
  17. Guys... Please... I asked that RoF issues and updates not be posted... The thread started kinda bad, as I asked not to post anything about RoF promotions, sales, updates.. videos... on this forum... but since it looks like it's more of a discussion and opinion comparison on many other aspects of simming and some of RoF's anti-priacy methods, I'm OK with it. The info is good, and you right, we do hope that people out there looking for a WWI will see that OFF comes standard with many of these planes, and a huge variety of the many variances of each model. Not just the Fokker D.VII, but the OAW, Albatros (skinned as such) and the D.VII(F). As well as many others. Thanks, OvS
  18. Race Card Back Fired

No, it's prejudice and borderline racism to do that. If we're living in a mixed community, which many urban areas are, and I only shop in Sicilian stores, and you shop in Irish stores, and he shops in Chinese stores... what the hell is that? So if the milk is on sale at Tyrone's Black Mamba Bodega for .80, and it's .90 cents at Luigi's Macaroni Mini-Market, but because you're Chinese you only shop at Bruce Lee's Wan Ton Take All, you pay $1.50 for it ... you're essentially creating a segregated market, regardless of the sale price. You now have segregation, and divide. What this woman is implying is that she will ONLY shop at stores owned by Black folk. That's wrong. That's against free-market trade, and is against all things related to defeating racism and making us all equal. So if a Russian immigrant decides to open a store next to the one this woman shops at, and all the people in the area have the same mentality as this woman, what chance does anyone else stand to open a new store in that community, and in effect, the community is racist. You might as well post a sign that says, "We only buy from people of the same color in this town". Isn't that what MLK gave his speech about... that 'all men are created equal'. I guess she did not listen to it. I don't see this woman as a representation of any African Americans... only a representation of her own person, and very narrow-minded views. I'm off topic here... but.. What burned me up during this last election was the lack of emphasis that Obama is half-black AND half-white. Not just African American, he is an American. What's the big idea with removing his white half? The press mentioned it in the beginning, but then that was it. Gone... no mention of it. If anything, it should never have been made a point at all.. either black or white. He's the first Inter-Racial President of the USA... that's more like it. He's not one of more, any more of than the other. 50-50. The urbanites hounded Obama about 'not being black enough'. What is that supposed to mean? Is he supposed to be dressed and talk urban to be black? I sure as hell wouldn't want my President to look like Eminem, or Flavor Flav (Public Enemy) with his hat side-ways and a huge clock hanging from his neck. Jeeze... give the guy credit for being educated, articulate and intelligent. Not 'black enough'... unreal. OvS
  19. Race Card Back Fired

Gates is wrong, and Obama is no better for offering the White House as a place to "sit down and have a beer", like it's his backyard BB-Q or something. That to me is far more disrespectful to see a President get himself involved with local Police issues like this. And on top of it, to make comments about it, when he has far greater issues out there to deal with. Obama sold himself as someone who was supposed to be 'above' all of this petty stuff. Then, to waste taxpayers dollars on setting up a meeting to 'talk' about the issue, using the White House as the chip to bargain with. I would think our relations with China, and the issues with North Korea/Iran were far more important than some remedial problem with a loud-mouth moron calling a white cop a racist when he was just doing his job. Living in Long Island, you really need to have tolerance of many races and ethnic backgrounds. It's a tight place, and we live on top of each other, so you learn to cope with anything. But being "white" is getting harder and harder for no apparent reason. Sotomayer made her comments about white men, and it's pushed under the table, now this idiot calls a white guy a racist and the President of the US backs him up?? What the heck? I thought we were supposed to be blind to race? Yes... if you're white.. which I am not... I'm of European decent (100% Sicilian) so I'm a nice Olive color and I look like a black man compared to my pale white Polish/Scottish/Sweedish wife. So, do I get a special box to mark on Civil Service tests, because I am tired of marking Anglo-Saxon, which I am not. If we're really going to make a change, as Obama shoved in my face so many times ... then our colors should be as blank as they are when we post to each other on these forums. Just my worthless 2 cents.... All the best, OvS
  20. OT/ We Choose The Moon

Exactly... the Moon should be top priority. As far as undersea cities, I think the pressure is the biggest hurdle, plus the corrosion, and the direct effect to the surrounding environment. What is sad, and really, hear me out on this... think about your Grandparents... what life-styles they led as children, teenagers... etc. Think of your Parents... they lived better. Think about you, we lived better than our parents... now think of our kids... life hasn't changed much since we were kids. Medicine still has not perfected cures, old diseases are coming back when we thought they were cured, we still drive on 4 tires, and use the same gas as we did back in the 80's after leaded was phased out. We still eat the same foods from the same places. The Space Shuttle is still flying, we still fly the same planes as we did in the 70's. All that really has changed...we use computers for EVERYTHING... we have cell phones, and cool home entertainment systems.. safer cars that drive at ridiculous unsafe speeds, console game systems that look almost real. But, we are healthier and live longer. So the technology for everyday life and business has gotten better... but nothing else. Our kids still walk to school, and some sit in the very desks that we sat in if we did not move from our home towns. Back in 1980, when I first saw Columbia leave the launch pad, I had visions of us being on the Moon by 2000... it was only 11 years after the Apollo 11 landing, why not? Seemed realistic. It was in every kid's magazine, all over TV... the ideas, the plans.. everything about getting back to the Moon. Almost 30 years later... I still watch the Endeavor leave the pad from the same angle, and the same shot on TV. If you take 1903 and advance it 30 years to 1933... you are in a WHOLE different world of everything from cars, to telephones, to everything. Take 1933 and advance it 30 years... you're almost on the Moon... Mercury and Gemini missions are circling the Earth.. etc.. the world had changed dramatically. Jet planes dominate the skies, and cars are way more advanced than 1933. Get my point... we've gotten lazy and are stuck in a 'retro' comfort zone. We look like we did in the 70's and take life as if it were ending tomorrow. We should have had a ton of unmanned missions to Mars, the Moon, and possibly Venus. Nothing except the Pathfinder missions. That's what I am talking about... we're not advancing.. we're regressing. OvS
  21. Fly Entente?!?!? NEVER!! Poo-poo colored planes... yucky square boxes with engines... bleech!!!
  22. I agree! Olham, you're doing a fantastic job on this. This is the coolest idea for a growing community I have ever seen!
  23. OT/ We Choose The Moon

I have to disagree here. If you look at many of the grants the US Gov't hands out for some of the most bizzare research on issues that really won't effect anyone, other than the person doing the research, it's mind-boggling. That's money we should be questioning and putting into R&D of aviation and space exploration. I'd rather see my Gov't dump more money back into NASA, and get things going again, back the way it was in the 60's and 70's. Heck, even Airliners haven't improved much since the 747's rolled out back in 1975. Sure, the 777, A380 and 787's are bigger, more efficient and safer (well, nothing is ever without a glitch as we have seen very recently), but as far as fast, no. Nothing since the Concorde, and nothing on the boards to replace it. More research has to be invested into aviation. It's not a Bus Service as it's been left to, it's the core of travel in the air and space. By now, we should have already had commercial aircraft that follow the standards of Harrier jets, and use more effecient pulse jets, and other forms of higher technology for propulsion. Better radar and air traffic control monitoring... etc. But it takes a lot of money from Government programs, not private investors. The basic design of the commercial airplane hasn't really changed much from the 60's B707's, and that's 40 years wasted. It's easy to keep the norm and the standard, but by now, the standards should have been higher. OvS
  24. Olham, you could make the skin for the OAW D.III and use it in OFF. Maybe take some shots of it, and then blend the photo to get the look of the OEFFAG D.III. The obvious difference is in the nose, but it would be a pretty good rendition as it has an almost identical look, tail and all. If you need some help, just ask me. But I think it can be done. Matthais, I'd love to see some photos as well. I'm very curious to see the wing camo patterns and colors. It was something we really worked hard on in OFF, and I was hoping to see how you guys approached the look of the OEFFAG. All the best, OvS
  25. Just a heads up on my planned clean-up of the General Forum. I plan on moving many of the stickies to the Knowledge Base forum in an attempt to clean things up here. So if it's not here, you can look there. I'll try to keep all tutorials (like Homeboy's new videos) and other related 'knowledge building' stuff there as well. All the best, OvS
