  1. 16/20... I thought it was a Bristol Fighter... !!
  2. It's paint on varnished wood.... it will flake and scratch like crazy.
  3. I really think we need to investigate the 'life' of the D.VIII further just to verify everything DSA has stated... then decided. If it's all accurate, then no D.VIII... if speculation, then we can speculate as well. OvS
  4. I'd love to sneak-up behind that guy and flick him on the ear, then see if he could chase me in that thing. LOL!
  5. Great stuff and very helpful. The serial numbers are important to me especially. But again, this contradicts everything else on the I-net I read about the D.VIII. Many suggest it actually did see service in late October, around the 23 and into the end of the war. Having said that, is it majority, or DSA? That's the tough question. He's very, very good and much of his info is spot on if not perfect. But, unless he has absolute access to all German documents and references to the aircraft distribution, it's speculative at best. I'd rather see the D.VIII flying, even if it's stretching the truth. Imagine the fight between the D.VIII and the Snipe? Just for the sake of it, maybe we'll have it in at the end of October as has been suggested and call it 'inconclusive'. OvS
  6. Windows 98

Yes, the Voodoo2 SLI'd was the BEST format for RB3D. It was coded in Voodoo3d core language, so it never ran on anything else until the Glide wrappers came out years later. The Voodoo2 is not a primary video card, it's a daughter board to a primary card. So really, other than playing native Voodoo3D games, it's useless. The other was the Banshee, which was 3Dfx's push to incorporate the technology into 1 primary card. RB3D ran pretty good on it, but still, never as good as the 2 V2's SLI'd. So Camel, if you want 'em, they're yours. OvS
  7. Jah Ohlam... vood you like zum frostink on your Krumpet? Mu-hahahahahaaa!!!!
  8. [OvS grabs Ohlam by the shoulder and and whispers in Olham's ear] Kareful mine brethren... ze Krumpetz are up to zumzing. Jah? Take ze Dr.1, I vill cover you mit der D.VII just in caze, jah?
  9. Windows 98

I've got something you might be interested it... I am holding 2 Voodoo2 cards WITH SLI cable. :) At one point I was going to do the same, but now, forget it. Can I ask why you are going back to 98? You can run RB3D with the GliDOS wrapper, or even better is the DGVoodoo, which is still supported. There are other options rather than trying to hunt down old parts. I might have a sound card as well... I used to use 98 in my old MAME cabinets, but I updated them all as I fixed and updated other friends/and my own PC's. What's your grocery list look like? OvS
  10. I have to question the validity of this entry... "The first new examples of the D. VIII started arriving at frontline units late that month and started operations on the 24 October with Jasta 11.Jasta 5 was granted a D.VIII, and the famed ace Erich Lowenhardt used it for a short time scoring a few victories in the plane. He continued to favor, however, the D.VII." 1. Erich Lowenhardt was dead by 10 August 1918... and never flew with Jasta 5 2. As far as I know, Jasta 11 was a D.VIIF Jasta, and never received the D.VIII, first I've heard of this. 4. Only 1 victory was recorded by the E.V, and that was by a pilot in Jasta 6, Emil Rolff. 3. Judging by this entry, and some others I found... DSA might be wrong about the D.VIII not making it to the front. Other websites that post the history of the D.VIII show it back in service by the end of October, more around the 24th. I'll talk to Shred about this and see if we can add it in as the D.VIII. Great find Olham... the more the better. OvS
  11. Judging by the info Olham has posted, longer than we thought. We had them assigned (based on info provided by DSA) in mid-August till early September, when they were pulled for investigation. They were repaired and redesignated the D.VIII but never saw the front. OvS
  12. Was OFF discounted again?

Ditto! I love it! I think it's one of the best Avatars I've seen yet! Marty rocks!
  13. OT: Men in the Moon

Apollo 13: Failure is NOT an option. The Apollo moon missions were when the human race was at it's most intelligent peak... without the help of a mouse or a CPU. Thanks for posting. OvS
  14. This is just plain cool!

    Ditto! Well said. OvS
  15. Guys, sorry for the delay. Erik is working with me to sort out the Calendar on my end. For some reason, he sees me having the right settings, but I cannot do anything. When I view the calendar, I can't see anything that's pending my approval, or an option for me to approve anything. So bear with me, we'll get it sorted sooner than later. All the best, OvS
  16. This is just plain cool!

Thanks, WF2. Nothing personal, but I've read enough PM's and such that have asked me to 'do something' to limit the posts about any other WWI sim than OFF on the OFF forum. Just trying to keep the balance. All the best, OvS
  17. This is just plain cool!

Yes, I agree. It's been brought to my attention, via some PM's and during a MP session that really, although it's nice to hear about RoF, and see videos, that truthfully, this is not the forum for it. This is the Primary OFF:BHaH forum, and it should remain that. It's not really an over-all WWI sim site. Combat Ace offers other forums you can post this on, as well as The Aerodrome and SimHQ. Those are all a better place for videos of RoF. As many gaming forums I have been on, none of the dedicated forums allow postings of other games that directly compete with them, so there is no reason why would should be any different. Please respect that we as OBD do appreciate seeing a new WWI sim, and are excited about it, but this is our dedicated forum to our fans to find help, info, MP schedules, friends and all that based on OFF:BHAH. I wonder if the dedicated RoF forum would accept OFF fans posting videos of BHaH on their forum. After reading many of the responses several of you have recieved just from mentioning it, I highly doubt it will go over well at all. So what's good for one, is good for the other. Plugging other sims on the dedicated OFF site really is not respectful to us as an OFF Community and OBD Software. Please stop posting video links to RoF on this forum, and please understand the reasons I am requesting that it stop. If we want to read or hear, or see what is going on with it, we can gladly head over to the RoF site and check it out. Thanks, OvS This thread will be closed later today, as it will be the last one I will accept on our form. All future video postings of RoF will be deleted. Please respect why I am asking this of you. Thanks.
  18. The panels lines are there, but I did not want to highlight them too much. I matched them to several models from the pros. I only have 1 DSA profile that looks like it's a checkerboard of wood, but it looks funky, and makes the wing look like it's made of metal. I wasn't sure about the tape either... so I went with it. We'll have to verify it as well. I figured it was there based on the D.VIIF having it as well. That skin will be done. It's the snake head. I don't know who flew it, but it's an MFJ colored crate. I have a B/W photo of it that has it sitting in a hangar with the lower access panel open for maintenance. Again, this is still a work in proccess. I have to recheck the wing camo patterns and some other areas that I suspect may or maynot be correct. OvS
  19. Happy Fathers Day all.....

Duck, it's THE longest day of the year... so we ROCK! After that it goes down hill... Happy Dad's Day to all. I just got my morning hug and kiss, I hope you all get yours. And if you're not from the USA... tell your families about Father's Day... it's the one day us guys deserve. OvS
  20. OT Free full games

You got me Bubba... I've never seen that one before!
  21. Was OFF discounted again?

OK.. OK... I PROMISE to post some pics of the new E.V.. ;)
  22. Was OFF discounted again?

Not sure what makes you feel like a chump. Paying $50 for a top-notch WWI flight sim... or paying $50 for something that doesn't work, is corrupted, or has no tech support... or a forum where you can openly voice your concerns... opinions... etc.. and be heard. The amount we spent as a group over the years on servers, PC upgrades, extended bandwidth for the first 2 free releases... our time involved... etc.. etc.. etc... was far more of an investment for us than what we asked for initially of BHaH. For $50 bucks, you bought a WHOLE PACKAGE.... plus a sim that will be updated and supported, and provide coutless hours of never ending WWI aerial insanity. If I wasn't on the team, I would have dropped the cash without thinking to get that. I paid 3 dollars less than everyone else for FCJ which for me was $22 as I helped with some files in it so I was 'graced' with a discount. FCJ does not compare to the level we achieved in OFF... and folks loved that sim to this day. All the best, OvS
  23. Great stuff! I loved the Greece pics. When I went to Sicily in April, I found out that it was once occupied by the Greeks. There are the same Temples all over like you saw in Greece. Pretty cool to see that! BTW... My girl's only 8 but I already have I have a Winchester 12g riot gun (standard Police issue shotgun type) ready in the rack.. what's in yours to show 'them' when they come to pick her up. LOL!
