Love my Scottish History...my clan is the Moffats { yep bloody reivers again lol } altough , upon reading up, it seems they fought with Longshanks against Wallace but with Bruce on the fields of Bannockburn, used the 'Devils Beef Tub ' as the hideout..so it was their cattle that hid there lol Now what is interesting is that both Bruce and Wallace are Ayrshire born and bred { as I am } and before folks go on about Elderslie and Wallace being born there, Blind Harry's chronicles talked about him being born in Ellerslie { note the different spelling...Elderslie as a name didn't exist as a town until the 14th century I believe }. This is a part of Kilmarnock, where Wallace's uncle had a castle at Riccerton, although his father did own lands in Renfrewshire. Many of his deeds were commited in Ayrshire { if true that is }...for instance, he had a small skirmish at Irvine { not far from where I was born }, the barn incident was at Ayr, where he also attacked the local English garrison, he also had a victory at Loudon Hill, just outside Kilmarnock, where the mid march and west march were connected.. There was a monument at Knadgerhill in Irvine,where various stories show up, which are true can only be guessed...one being that Wallace setup camp before fighting the English at the ford over the River Irvine...although I think this story is probably more true

I know Al personally, we are in the Northern Region of the GAvA together....and I have to say, that painting is even better in the 'flesh'. He had it at the meeting about 2 years ago...his stuff is always great as he says..'' I love to paint the aircraft that usually don't get painted''..Keep posting paintings..I love em :)

Short story with the details.. I play NHL 10 on the 360 online, we have a team that play with each other against human opponents.. a new guy joined about a month ago called Charlie. His in game player was called C. Nungesser. I thought I recognised the name and asked one of the others if he was a hockey player , as I knew the name from somewhere! Well, the answer was a resounding no....when Charlie came back on I asked him { I had remembered by that time that Nungesser was a WW1 pilot } why he had named his player C Nungesser, was that after Charles Nungesser of WW1 fame? He said yes it was the WW1 pilot..and his reason...well it turns out it was his Great Uncle. hi folks, been really busy upgrading my operating system to win 7 and working as much time as I can on the Charlie drawing, needless to say, it doesn't leave much time for forums etc, anyways, hope to have the drawing done by the tail end of next week.

I found that the frame rate is killed by the shadows in game, take me from 60fps to below 40 when enabled...running a gtx 260 with 1.8gb onboard memory..are they being looked at to be optimised in future patches?

Left school at 16 and joinned an explosives factory as an Instrument Artificer..been one ever since..nearly 28 years, currently working in the local paper mill.

Just about to start a new drawing, gonna try out colour pencils, but need a little help from the experts in here. Could you folks cast an eye over the DR1 I've drawn and spot anything that looks odd?? and has anyone got a colour scheme I could try out..the photo I have shows an olive green kind of mottling ..was this common? Many thanks sorry for the poor photo, but it was taken indoors and in artificial light :)..but you'll get the idea.

Hi folks..been busy working on this one for my friend. His Dad flew 30 plus missions as a rear gunner in Lancasters of 97 Sqn, anyways he wanted a drawing to hang on his wall and this is how its turned out so far...all critiques welcome please. PS..its a piss poor photo but once completed, I'll get a sharper image, but you can get the idea.

I was getting these mismatch errors after every new patch, the way to fix it for me was for all concerned to reinstall OFF and then patch to the newest version, this fixed the MP mismatch errors 100% of the time.

I use Nhancer all the time, it allows the overriding of some of the stuff for profiles that the control panel won't allow. So far { and its been over two years } I haven't had an issue with it. Any changes I make in the application pass over to the control panel .

Asked for a commission of a Hurricane landing, I chose the Mk1a of Tim Elkington , No1 Sqn, comming in to pancake during the Battle of Britain. This aircraft { JX-O, P3173 } was allocated to Tim on 1st Aug 1940 { the first of nine O's } and was lost when he was shot down by Helmut Wick on the 16th Aug 1940. It had flown 22 sorties during that period. Drawing is 2B pencil on 300gsm smooth card and it still a WIP, hurricane completed, any mistakes will just have to remain now { can't go reworking any more or the card will lose its crisp edge } but Im quite happy with it, now on to the scenery!!

Many thanks for the kind words folks...the drawing took over 70 hrs to complete..Im having a rest { well drawing a Hurricane Mk1 landing } and then I may try my hand at a nice WW1 drawing :)
