  1. 1917(1) MOD

B.....these are marvelous.......and have put a whole new spin on an already amazing piece of work. Missions are long grinds and I'm encountering a greater variety of planes than I've ever seen before. Keep 'em coming.....I AM having fun! Thanks......... Have fun! Bletchley
  2. OFF P4 SCENERY

maybe bung a few more of these teasers up on the site......they're really nice to look at!!!!!
  3. OFF P4 SCENERY

yep....a stunner.....the blending of the airfield edges is the best yet............very handsome!!!
  4. good mods out?

this latest from Bletchley's pretty cool.....installs easily and works flawlessly. You can read about it here... http://combatace.com/topic/63859-19161-mod/ HPW's done some pretty detailed work with damage models, tracers, and so on.......but the thing is that straight out of the box OFF is so good, so great to look at, and fly........ that you'll be lost for life and never have to touch it unless you've an itch to change things a bit (almost universal). In any event, read up on the settings that'll give you the best your computer's got fps wise...I think they're in the stickies......and have a ball...........
  5. 1915 Mod

    thank you B.......on my way....Cheers!
  6. 1915 Mod

Perhaps.a link to the "JSGME MODS" installer/folder would be helpful here. Sounds marvelous....... Thanks!!!
  7. stunning...........simply stunning..........basket seat detail, yoke wrapping, cockpit shadows...............outrageous!!! thanks!
  8. Gun Settings

you may wish to discount my vote entirely as I NEVER fly backseat..........so my ballot is strictly a fighter campaign perspective....my guns......the way they're "supposed to be"....and rear guns on the bombers.....well, nobody likes being pinged just when the kill was close but maybe that's the deal...........
  9. Unbelievably fine detail on this stuff RAF...............thank you
  10. Gents.....I'm utterly at a a loss to know whether I can bung a new graphics card into my system or what I'd need to change. DX Diag gives me the attached info and I'd be very grateful if any of you who know about these things might help......Thanks...gaw DxDiag.txt
  11. Parky................many, many thanks for the advise. Seems there's plenty of room in there. Any thought s on which 5870 to go with....there seem to be several? Again...thanks for taking the time....you too VP. Cheers....GAW
  12. nice touch.....thank you very much!
  13. hey all.......Olham's FOV settings are marvelous..........anybody tried the same rort over on CFS3? There's no workshop but there's probably a setting parameter somewhere there that'd be fun to play with
  14. thought those setting tweaks were yours....... they also worked a treat........definite improvement all around.....nice work!!!
  15. better and better Olham.......unless I'm delusional..........the change affects the F4 other views as well.......all of which seem infinitely better. Graphics has to work a little harder close to the ground but drop dead beautiful!!!!
  16. combat....................waaaaaay more interesting.......close up is wheels on the other guys tail....and the view from inside the cockpit seems balanced and right....more closely matching what you'd expect to see peering across the wing. 2 pilots already toast for floating in too close for a kill shot.....but the view was worth it. Noticed that the sim now starts me off with 2 clicks of magnification instead of 1 in the cockpit unless I'm not recalling correctly........and backing off 1 click looks just right......2 clicks to full wide looks a bit wonky....NIIIIICE!! thanks again!
  17. Olham....what an astonishing find. That FOV thingies's been sitting in front of my face forever and I've never fooled around with it. I tried your settings and the results are OUTSTANDING. It feels much more "real"....encompassing more of the peripheral view that one normally sees....more like what I'd expect to see. The default settings always felt a bit constricted and I rarely had a sense of the landscape whizzing past when flying low.....just thought that was the deal and that's that....plenty of great stuff to do in any event. Just did a solo around the field and the tents fly past and the ground swoops up in a much more convincing visual. Thanks you....totally groundbreaking immersion factor for me at least......be interested to see what others think. Off....so to speak....to try combat. Thanks again!!!!!!
  18. Echo......comes from not reading the entire post.....saw RAF had already barked up the same tree.......never mind...great book!
  19. In advance of Burns night...

Robert Burns.......who wrote these classic ditties. Lovely post....Thank You!!!
  20. many great ones are recommended in the WW 1 books download over at OFF.....one of the best from that good source is "A World Undone" by G.J. Meyer. The numbers and the blind futility of the whole mess was appalling. Verdun, Gallipoli, Ypres, Marne.......a lot of fascinating detail on what led up to each and a great deal about the Eastern front about which I knew practically nothing.....great context
  21. anybody know why these bridges pop out of the landscape thru clouds?
  22. funky bridges

time to fiddle I guess........me and Nero
  23. Stonehenge

    who knew?....certainly worth a visit....thanks!
  24. funky bridges

somewhere in the dim recesses of what I laughingly refer to as my mind I recall downloading better textures for bridges....so we could see the stone foundations or something....maybe that was for CFS3...I don't remember but if anybody can give me the original texture file name I'll try and bung it in ....this is probably just another instance of self-mutilation...but I doubt it......I practically never add anything to HITR as it's so bloody good to begin with....
