  1. you know those scrambles where the bad chaps are all over you?? be great to return the favor on an equally regular basis during campaign....arrive over an enemy airfield and bang 'em up as they take off....I think there's a quick scenario play for this but it's be great to have it in the campaign
  2. THANKS FELLAS...................BEEEEEEAUTIFOL!!!!!!
  3. these are gorgeous pix all around......great steer...thanks!!!!
  4. where's the EIII guys pride.....any other skins other than silver motor cover and dun colored sails?
  5. E3 skins?

    O...that I'll do!!! Cheers!!
  6. E3 skins?

thank you Olham for an educated, considerate reply!
  7. Unjam the guns?

For whatever it's worth......flee the scene and wait......they'll eventually become "unstuck" and you can get back into the fray. Takes a while sometimes but the "unstuck" is wired into the gun jam choice I think. It's a nice touch and'll make you think twice before jamming the trigger......
  8. as for escape when everybody else is speedier......I find that if I can make it to the deck and fly low enough the AI seem to bob about rather than fly straight. Their apparent disinclination to lose undercarriages on inconvenient shrubs usually lets me edge away gradually. For all the reasons listed above climbing out of a mess almost invariably leads to condition colander....but that's just me channeling Von Richthofen again
  9. sounds ludicrous I know but do I have the right file structure for my OFF install? "CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields" and "WW1Scenery" folders both reside within folder "OBDSoftware" on my hard drive....and not within the usual Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games folders like all the others...PTO, MAW, ETO, etc. OFF works perfectly so I assume all is well but is this the usual install path for OFF?
  10. thank you gentlemen for your considerate replies.....I've wondered for months if this fell under the "if it ain't broke" rule and finally came out of the closet and asked.....back to killing favorite pilots after swearing I'll never fly under the influence again. But what's a bloke to do when the best things offered daily are three fingers of rum and a kick-ass dog fight after emerging from the salt mines? cheers....gaw
  11. hey all.....ok....kids home from college on break....they know I've been flying these games since time began and look at me with pity.....why???...."Dad....you're missing half the fun"....."what???!" They're right....my nipper hooked up his Creative THX sound system to the computer with a sub-woofer under the desk and bade me fly on with the audio settings damn near maxed out. The house widows rattled, the plane wires sang in the wind, the near misses scorched past, the hits thudded home, the engine damn near blotted out the front/archie and I damn near lost almost all my composure.....it's a fact. The audio on this sim is an unrecognized frontier...at least for me, I've had to keep the levels low enough to keep the war department at bay...we all live by the rules..."She Who Must Be Obeyed"... but unleashing the audio, if only for a transcendent moment, has opened up a degree of immersion I never knew. So....next time you're alone....not answerable to the world you actually live in....try maxing out your audio and it'll seem a whole new game. I've been so fixed on FPS and all the tweaks recommended to make home systems perform like a Pixar studio that I've never explored one of our senses that totally add to the experience. Rudder pedals, Track IR.......all good,,,but this audio awakening was an epiphany. Warning.....your wife WILL come down and close the door to your office....don't take offense...it's worth it!
  12. Outrageous!!!......and does the liquid move up and down with the fuel level in the glass tube on the right in pic #7? I'm assuming that's fuel....maybe not?
  13. audio magic

it surely does.......gotta go back in and try TrackIR again....gave my last one away it disoriented me so having to do the center head thing as well as keep an eye on the bad chaps....what a wimp
  14. great stuff....love etymology.....thanks UK
  15. and how bout those water reflections....never seen those......looks way cool.....maybe that's the apotheosis of all sliders on 5 and a projection screen that holds the detail.......good for you.......looks like a lot of fun
  16. Ras..........count me in pls.....been looking for this one and will be glad to pay poastage and cost! Thanks....GAW
  17. Trees in the distance

in your terrdata zip is an xml file called "composite scenery budgets" ........as I recall.......never a sure bet........a set of off the chart settings were posted at one time for WM Scenery.......the great mission manger Winding Man built for CFS3. They expanded the visible rings of scenery as far as you could wish but the fps hit was catastrophic for most rigs.....mine included. I haven't seen any mods for this posted for OFF but I suspect that the ring distance is wider already in OFF than CFS3 and that the scenery/terrain sliders do just that.
  18. yeah.....very cool.....was there years ago shooting an hour special for the Smithsonian. Cole Palin offered to tow all the old planes out of a Long Island airfield museum as it had been sold to mall developers. It was Roosevelt Field where Lindbergh took off in the S of St. L ....now another ghastly shopping center...they all went in pieces up to Rhinebeck where the collection and it's reassembly became the focal point for WW1 artisans and enthusiasts....and remains one of the few places that still trots these marvels out of the hangers and fires 'em up.....very cool indeed
  19. Hey all....finally made it thru a campaign far enough to CHANGE PALNES.....just imagine. Was assigned an EV and found it so twitchy I lost the number of my mess the first sortie. Dialling down sensitivities on the stick had almost no effect and I was still all over the map....dead easy shots totally whiffed.....control changes became stalls..........Yikes....thought I was better tnan that....anybody else augered in like this noob with an EV...or am I effing up my control settings somehow??? Thanks...GAW
  20. great vid!!!!.....and good shooting too....thanks!!
  21. i don'r know which is worse.............OFF....just think dead...I've NEVER made 17.5.............women......just think half.....of everything you have
  22. Question for the devs

    she who must.....
  23. Question for the devs

RAF..........beg pardon......I've clearly missed thread details.....so thank you too .....still bleary after a 14hr flight from Bangladesh.....but I'll beam in tomorrow when I'm alert....a relative condition in my case to be sure. And as for summary dismissal.....I take it you're married too. Cheers.....gaw
