Saint Euxpery's book "Wind, Sand, and Stars" remains one of the great lyrical odes to early flying.....still a magnificent read. Another forgotten great is the children's author Roald Dahl....of "James and the Giant Peach" fame....among others. He flew in Africa during the war and has a marvelous book titled "Over to You" that's lovely. Furthermore...if you're looking for some really dark short stories...try any of the Roald Dahl short story collections

Did I see a head turn on one of the shots....pilot/observer? It was so fragmentary.......I'm no doubt wrong....but wouldn't that be a nice touch. However helmeted, our AI planes are piloted/observed by cigar store Indians. No big deal really but a head turn w/ the gun or passing plane.....twould be a fine touch!

Love the cat under the desk........must supply a shot of my Labs wedging themselves under my own desk while OFF'ing.....an attention ploy that always works as they keep nudging my stick hand.........invariably leading to erratic flight followed by a crash....followed by a walk in the woods...which is where they wanted to be in the first place. Who's the smarter operator here....clearly not me!

tried both FF sticks and non-FF sticks and frankly it never really made much difference........but for my $ Thrustmaster has the best durability and feel of all of them. Other's look techy like Saitek but they fell apart in no time and the T-masters last and last. Best value bar none...and I don't even work for 'em............how's that!

Anybody else here felt that as lovely and considerate a change as the mods we've been given are....too many to list and god knows how much work went into them....the out of the box HITR is pretty stunning as is and delivers practically all one could wish. Take HPW's enduring work on damage models alone.....he's still in there swinging, improving and finessing........and I love trying them on.....years of effort,,,,,,and expand that ethos exponentially to the entirety of OFF P4....which despite considerable moral pressure, keeps it's course.......... and doesn't it make you wonder what's in store despite the pix teases? I keep going back to the basic install and finding center there........dumb, but predictable I guess.....too much rum probably......kill me now! In any event....this is a thank you to all you mod/skinners/mission makers for making the wait entertaining. Bless you all....

Well......had to do it....bought TrackIR 5 whatever.........it is astonishing and clearly there's a LARGE learning curve ahead. Maybe this is a PM topic so please advise but here goes... 1. how do I access the TR after closing the game to adjust a profile.....I click the shortcut but always have that "already running" warning come up on screen 2. seems the centering F12 is essential and tried to program it to the stick but no go...works on the engineering screen w/ TR but not in the game 3. I have no yaw....again...engineering screen w/ TR shows head tilt working but in game no go thanks any TR users out there!!
