Thanks for the tips guys. I have been practicing tonight using the Fokker D VII. My first two attempts at landing I crashed, but on the third attempt I got my speed down to 45 mph for the first time and made a good, soft landing. So I think I am starting to get used to these new techniques. I'm learning to bleed off speed without losing control of the aircraft during my approach. I am going to keep practicing in Quick Flight using different planes.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in sharing pointers on how to land successfully. I have read the part in the manual on landing and it helps a bit, but most types I cannot land. Aircraft seem to touch down going too fast even when my throttle is at zero and I have done a long gentle descent. I cannot get a landing speed below 50 mph. Result is almost always crash.

I have Phase 2 but have been unable to locate Warpzap. I dive from high altitude until I reach the right speed and then hit "X". Something else I found is that sometimes it doesn't stop in time so I press Ctrl X to exit warping. Thanks!

The engine cutting out when switching views only happened on the first flight of the day, and by pressing "E" the engine started again. It didn't occur in any other flights that day, so it's probably not serious. I did fly one long (60 minutes) campaign mission and clicked on the debriefing feeling very nervous; but the game did not lock up. My mission results were displayed and recorded! It seems as though the problem has been solved by moving the sliders back, and many thanks for your replies. By the way, is it possible in this game to warp? Or only in CFS3? Whenever I have tried to warp to the next waypoint by pressing "X" I get the message "You cannot leave as you haven't reached the required speed."

I moved the realism sliders from 5 down to 4, and did not have problems with locking up when returning to Officers Mess after a flight. However, I had the engine cut out when I switched from Target view to Cockpit view, during a combat. I'm wondering if this problem might also be connected to the Invidia 9500 not being able to cope. I may have to go lower. Thanks Messaround.

My computer is an Intel Core 2 Duo with CPU @3.33 GHZ and with 3 GB of RAM. I have 2 harddrives, one at 500 GB and the other I think at one terrabite. I have the sliders for all graphics pushed to the max, yet there is no hesitation in the planes movement. The OS is Windows XP Service Pack 2. I hope this helps, but I can look up more info if needed. Thanks!

I have recently installed a copy of Phase 2, and the game runs perfectly at the highest resolution modes using an Invidia Geforce 9500 video card. The problem that occurs is after landing when I click on "Return To Officers Mess", when the screen goes black and the game hangs up. I go to Task Manager to end the game, which of course erases all data from the mission. I often get an error message like "twisting scenery manager not responding." Before launching the game I always remember to shut down all anti-virus software. What might be causing this problem?
