  1. I just got a 22 inch monitor and was flying OFF2 at the native resolution of 1680x1050. The game was impossible to play as frames were around 1.5. After setting the resolution to 1280x800, I was able to once again get flyable frame rates. Certainly a bigger monitor would increase the load on my GPU, but no way would I get just 1.5 only to get mid 30s at a slightly lower resolution. Is this a known issue with the game or do I have a problem on my end???? Regular CFS runs fine as does FSX at the native resolution of the monitor so Im doubting it would be an issue on my end (at least not all my fault!). If it is a bug, can I run Phase 3 at my native resolution? Using Vista 64 with 5gb of ram and a 9800gtx+ 512mb video card.
  2. Anyone give the AMD Phenom II 940 3.0ghz a go here? Considering this or a Q9650 (but a bit more expensive) for an upgraded system.
  3. Well it's not so much that it's historically inaccurate, it has more to do with the screenplay being so far fetched that all you can do while watching it is just go along with it and not ask any questions. Doing so let's you just enjoy the flight scenes!
  4. You can also try and use Nhancer to crank some graphic settings up.
  5. Ah okay. Some are kind of like adjusting the trim tabs on the FW190 then. Thanks for all the insights guys! One of the best aspects of OFF is all the history one learns.
  6. Well I had it mapped to the prop pitch lever on my throttle quad; you could really get the plane to dance around the sky coordinating it with rudder and stick. But given that I learned few planes had this feature at the time, I'll probably just keep it historically accurate.
  7. Best of both worlds then!
  8. Hmm, then I got something crazy going on when I map the elevator trim to an axis! Just as I was getting used to flying with three hands! Thanks for the quick reply
  9. Having only been flying for a couple days, I've come to realize that elevator trim is an extremely important element in maneuvering and when coordinated properly gives a tremendous boost. Is this accurate for WWI planes? Flying these planes is a whole new experience for me as Im used to "newer" warbirds and definitely takes some getting used to in order to fully command your plane!
  10. Well FSX can use something like 256 cores, supposedly.... But then that took three releases and still leaves much to be desired as far as optimizing CPU performance. I guess it's obvious then that overall processor speed is more important than number of cores for code written nearly a decade ago now. The dream of OFF4 as a standalone product truely optimized for dual and quad and integrated seemlessly into 64bit... That's the plan right guys?
  11. Hello everyone! I was just wondering whether the AMD dual core optimizer should be applied to my AMD quad core computer as well? I am running Vista64 and see that affinity mask is sing all four cores, but does this really mean Im running the four cores as well as one can without this optimizer patch?
