Winston's Early Birds MP session
Balalaika replied to Winston DoRight's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Multiplayer
Sorry I missed it Winston, but I've been experiencing some bad internet issues due to my router (now ex-router) all week and culminated last night with it being crushed to death under my foot after having toyed with my expectations of it actually working for more than 5 minutes. Just got a new one, and all seems ok (at least I have internet access) and still setting up my security options on the new network. The time was ok, 6 pm for UK. But maybe saturdays are too busy for some people? Personally, Sundays are a good day to be allowed to do as you please after the weekend chores are done. Don't really know why more UK ppl are not up for it, as I think the posts of our MP exploits over the last few weeks have been very inspiring. Oh, well. Fingers crossed my tech issues are solved, and hope to see you in the air next weekend. -
Winston's Early Birds MP session

I'll be there, thanks for hosting! If there's only the two of us, we can practise some formation/acrobatics and a dogfight before any missions :) But I do hope we will be accompanied by many others. -
Great Pics Sab! and Duck, I liked yours alot! heh, don't think i'll be able to pull off that again.. great fun as always. The fact there is shipping that is destroyable and sinks authentically, and that you can park up in a hanger, well, isn't this just THE sim!

haHAAHAAA! yeah, glad you said that UK. The years GWB jnr was in power I truly dreaded the extinction of mankind was sooo close at hand. Wierd tho, till I read your last post, I'd all but forgot about the jerk... -
OT: Der Rote Baron - is there an english version out there?

btw the Blue Max movie was great, historically accurate or not- fine movie. some of the shots with planes bombing the trenches are awesome. I highly recommend it. Plus one of the few hollywood movies where the main character is a true 'anti-hero' - which gives it extra props. The stuntpilot had to fly under a bridge section with 4' clearance on each side 17 times to get the shot! I'd buy for that alone! £5 Morrisons - with 2 free movies included! Aces high with old Malc, well very low budget and pretty blunt with its only message, but hey, its got planes in it. -
Aww, man. Just got to repeat my thanks for hosting these games Ax - been a real highlight of the week and something to look forward too. Have a great vacation and hope you really enjoy it :) Thanks to all the great people I have met in the last few weeks, Ducky, Matt, Saburo, Joker, Ras, Stumpy, Rooster, Von Braur, Alpha, Kami, Ax, Gryph, Fokker ( missing this crazy dude), and any I forgot due to me being a lame ass ;) Thanks for your patience and raising the bar on flying skills - can't wait till next time!

Well, the guy has now a burning tail plane and his airfields are closing down as he looks for a place to land. Though don't feel bad for him cos he probably the best PC rig you could dream of with trackIR 5, pedals and flawless broadband...paid for by us!!! Hey Gordo, glad my last 6 months income tax went on something cool - now get the crap online with us and MP you ******r! -

well, i'm not gonna watch it for a history lesson. wanna just sit and watch a well produced period drama with me wife, that has WW1 Planes in it!! -
C'mon you euro's, sort it out and get into Multiplayer - its very easy to sort out and FREE. Teamspeak is needed, which is a free download. MadMatts installer program is up and ready to install. Hardcore Damage is up and free too! I've been having regular saturday evening (for us) flights with our USA buddies and it's GREAT! But we need more europeans up in the air. I'll host some MP sessions for us all so time difference isn't a problem, but I'll need some help with IT stuff like port forwarding and how to open my PC up to clients without being open to massive internet virus attacks... but I'm prepared to host if someone would like to join. Campaign is great, but flying for an hour or so with ppl you can talk to is better - we can practise aerobatics and formation flying, dogfighting and covering each others tailplanes.. so, come on FLY!

View commands - are they kidding?

I don't understand, F4 was (until i got trackir) default virtual cockpit. always worked. Before I even started my forst mission I went into control options and assigned my hat directions to relevent views (up, left, behind, right). I'm as thick as 2 short planks. I cant even spell first. -
Hi, first of all I'd like to congratulate all the hardworking soulds who made this sim possible - I would like to add my own thank you so much, it is truly brilliant to the already large pile of Gratz messages. Things I would love to see, and supporting other peoples suggestions: 1) Wind/Clouds affecting AI. Always has been the bugbear of campaign flight for me, having to break off from my flight and take the long and very low route to a target cos there's just this real beautiful, but incredibly deadly, cloud formation straight ahead. 2) Customise your plane a little with some preset decals and colour schemes, and be able to save it for future selection. 3) A list of your flight mates at mission end, BEFORE claims form pops up, or move claims form to the side. I have now a large stack of scrap paper with dozens and dozens of names at my side. It often takes me longer to write down who i'm flying with than the mission itself, lol. An exageration, sure, but you know what I mean? 4) Not fussed about a more detailed map - at least we can see airfields on it and gain SOME sense of where we are, which is all the info I'd expect to have if I was in a real plane and not sat comfy in front of my PC. But if you can make a hi-res game map, that doesn't take an age to load when pressing M, great, but it seems like hard work. 5) A hammer or something to ATTEMPT unjam guns. 6) an inflight display of fuel mixture settings that appears when you bring up the other HUD aids. 7) An 'escape from P.O.W. camp minigame'! - lol, just joking :)) 8) you can ignore all of the above. If the only thing vers 4 brings is easily accessible multiplayer - that'll do! I would pay you £10 GBP per month to subscribe and support a MP server. Of course this would be optional, and ppl could use the current SP and MP way of doing things, but a one click access to a server that checks and downloads all you need for a specific mission would be great. Inbuilt VOIP and leaderboards would be cool. BTW I am not suggesting we turn this into ROF at all!!!!! note the word optional!

Teamspeak help needed please
Balalaika replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - Multiplayer
Widow - it's 10pm UK time, Thursday 11th June. I'm just going to start a SP campaign, but will join TS and leave it on till 11 - 11.30pm. If you're online and wantto test your TS, join the camel channel and say Hello - I'll pick you up hopefully and we can join our own channel (just right click on the new one you'll see my name in to join) and you can test your settings vs my eardrums! -
Widowmaker: If have not got a headset, Plantonics do a nice 'closed-cup' set for about £30. TrackIR clips on fine. You can even pick up a budget pair for about 8 quid from Tesco. For Teamspeak, follow this link and simply choose to install the top option for windows: http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads ------------------------------------ After you install your teamspeak client software, settings are as follows server addres is 217.155.102.217:8767 (note colon befor 8767) Logon name is whatever you chose Password is camel Suggest you leave the setting "push to talk", until such time as you are comfortable with your input output settings. As some buttons conflict with OFF, after some trial and error, I use RIGHT CTRL key when I want to speak (actually, I should just record a macro that automatically says ''damn! ok, guys, is there a spare plane free?''). Right CTRL works a treat tho. Teamspeak comes with a chatbox that you can right click into to communicate whilst setting up the thing, but In my experience it just kinda works 'straight outta the box'. If you want, I can join on on TS and join a MP if you want to host on saturday afternoon?
