Thanks for all the help. NOT!!! After weeks of searching and digging through files I found it. This is how you fix the problem: Simply go to the \Flight folder in your Mods directory and remove the following two files: HUDDATA.INI MAPENEMYICON.TGA That's it. If you want the bad guys to disappear again, add the above files back to the \Flight folder.

Not really a big deal but it bugs me. I have the full TW 2 series loaded. On some like SF2NA when I open the map I get enemy target description plus a little airplane icon. However on SF2 and SF2 VN I get the enemy description but no icon. I tried putting the options.ini next to each other and they appear to be the same. I know this is not a big deal but it just bugs me I can't fix it. Can anyone siuggest a fix. Some people think the map takes away realism. Hoiwever having spent most of my adult life working with and for USAF fighter pilots. I am a retired AF 30 year CMSGT and was able to get rides in an F-4D and an F-16D. I am very familiar with the pre-flifgt briefings that they go through and the map makes up for the lack of that thorough briefing.

Missing Map Icons for enemy A/C
Rayc posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I have the full SF2 package on some but not all of my TW sims when I open the map I do not get icons for enemy aircraft. Had this problem before many years ago but can't find the fix. Obviously the Icons are missing from the versions i have modded the most. Somtimes it has the label for the A/C but no icon. Not really big deal but it bugs me. I'll have to save my fixes in a fixes folder. -

No red aircraft on map

I had this problem many years ago and I have forgotten the fix. When you open the map during flight only blue aircraft can be seen. There in nothing in the menus i can find. Hope someone remembers. -
I just applied the July 2013 update to SF, SFVN, SFE, and every time i drop ordnance when it explodes all of the games freeze up and wont run anymore. How do i remove the latest update?

Oct 2008 update and Weapon Pack Compatability
Rayc replied to Rayc's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
That was exactly what I did after I first encountered a problem but it still wipes out all of my weapons on all three sims -
I noticed that when I installed the October 2008 patch to SF/WOV/WOE it wipes most of my available weapons. If I reinstall any of the weapons packs on the Oct 2008 patched sim it wipes all weapons. Is there a fix for this? The October 2008 update really simplifies reinstallation and update but I got to have the weapons pack too. Hopefully someone already found a fix for this and I just missed it.

My G940 came in the mail two days ago. It the best yet. I have used Saitek X-45, X-52 and X-52 Pro, As well as MS Sidewinder and a Thrustmaster HOTAS FFB combo and this is the best yet. Although not listed in reviews the force feedback function works with the Strikefighter/WOV/WOE series, a major bonus for me. I particularlly like the way the FFB immediatelly starts shuddering when you yank too hard on the stick. I had inserted a stiffenenr into my X-52 Pro to improve response but this stick does that for me. My overly aggressive and unrealistic yank and bank doesn't work here. Gentle but firm control obtains the best results. I work for the Air Force I have occasionally had access to an F-16 and an A-10 flight simulator and the G940 really approximates the feel of those simulators. Just wish I could get dual throttle control in IL-2 1946. There is only one axis available for power. If someone figures that one out I would love to know about it but I doubt its possible. I still have yet to try in on LOMAC and MS Flight Sims; CFS-3 and FS2004. I know I will get dual throttle control there.
