About flysiu

  1. That did the trick! Thanks a bunch!
  2. Ok Gents, let me see if I got this right. I am trying to tweak the stock Rolling Thunder campaign for SF2V. Here's is the process I've used, somewhere I am going wrong here. Note: All files installed to default locations. 1. If I am correct the campaign files are located withing the .CAT file named "MissionData002" so I used CatPack which extracts the data into the following structure: MissionData002\ Campaigns\ CAMPAIGNV1 <--Rolling Thunder Campaign Data CAMPAIGNV2 <--LB I Campaign Data CAMPAIGNV3 <--LB II Campaign Data Missions\ ***Contains the stock single missions*** CAMPAIGNV1_DATA <--Rolling Thunder CAMPAIGNV2_DATA <--LB I CAMPAIGNV3_DATA <--LB II ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the purposes of my little experiment I want to modify the "CAMPAIGNV1" and "CAMPAIGNV1_DATA" files to shuffle some squadrons around. After I make the modifications where do the modified files need to go? Do they go back in the Program Files/ThirdWire/Strike Fighters2/Flight/? This is the original location of the MissionData002.CAT from which the files were extracted. ***OR*** Do the go into the 'mod' folder: xxxx/Saved Games/ThirdWire/Strike Fighters2 Vietnam/? Is this is the case do I need to create a new folder named "FLIGHT" to replicate the folder location within the 'traditional' base directory located in the Program Files directory? Thanks for all the help fellas.
  3. Gentlemen, It seems that the formatting of the .CAT files for the newer versions of SF is different than the older version(s). In WOV it was reasonably easy to tweak the stock campaigns by fiddling with the "MissionData" file and simply recompiling it. When I try and do the same in the newer versions: modifying the "MissionData002" everything seems to go haywire when I try and recompile it. Is there indeed a major difference in the .CAT files between WOV and SF2: WOV? Are there some newer tools of the trade I need to be using? Thanks all, -john
